"Great property to enjoy some time right by the beach! Little strange that no linens or items for the bathroom such as a foot mat or towels are included - you will need to bring all of that on your own. The unit could also use a deep clean as in numerous areas, it was incredibly dusty or I could see hair from previous stays. This was not a huge deal to us however as our stay was short and the host was helpful in allowing early check in."

"The First Colony Inn is a lovely old property in a great location for visiting the Outer Banks. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Buffet breakfast choices were very good and the hot option varied each day. There's a wonderful beach opposite the inn and a good selection of restaurants and shops nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return."

"Really great place to stay to take the day to explore the area. Easy walk to downtown and the waterfront. We found a great place to have dinner in downtown Edenton and have a few drinks and then had just enough time to walk to the waterfront and catch the sunset. We had requested a bottle of wine for our return and were able to take that and watch the traffic go by on the large front porch during the evening. The breakfast the next day was fantastic and we got tips of some boat trips and...
