"The Grove Park Inn used to be a five star property. It’s a 3 at best today. We went to the GPI to celebrate my son’s birthday. Just to hit the high notes, the service from the staff was terrible. They obviously have very little training in hospitality. Absolutely no enthusiasm by the person in the Cafe, the Concierge, or the wait staff. Additionally, the Edison restaurant was a big disappointment. Our waiter rushed us through our dinner, even though there were very few guests in the restaurant....

"Though the property is beautifully located and all rooms have an ocean view, many other elements were unsatisfactory. This is off season and noone in the lobby, but check in was so slow. Hot Tub was down. Went to stay for one night only but was awakened by workers on scaffolding outside my window at 7am. "A couple of the ocean view rooms have an obstructed view. i was initially given one of those rooms. When it was brought to the management's attention they quickly gave me a room with an unobstructed view. the management is very responsive. The hot tub was great, very warm. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again."
