"Really beautiful place both the hotel and the location. Staff were all very nice, polite snd helpful which made the stay even more pleasant. The only downside was breakfast, the qaulity of the produce was excellant as i'm guessing was the standard of the breakfast if you were there at the start. I guess part of the problem was our own doing because we decided on a late breakfast towards the end of service, so we found the hot food gad now gone cold. This shouldn't happen so maybe look into...
"The property is a lovely place that has kept its unique original features. The Victorian facades and interior are refreshingly maintained. The staff are all very welcoming and genuinely friendly. Well located in a rural spot but 5 minutes walk into town, via the sea front promenade."
"We spent a night at the Wheatsheaf, to break the long drive from Scotland to Berkshire. Our room, although not huge, was clean, with crisp, white bed linen on a very comfy bed, and with lovely views of the pretty village church. Although warned about the frequent bell ringing, it did not disturb us in any way. Nice, white towels were provided in the shower room. Lucy and her team couldn't have been more welcoming, efficient, and helpful. It was convenient to be able to enjoy our evening...

"The restaurant was excellent although the service was slow as there was no Maitre d' at the door to welcome and we had to wait quite a few minutes to be seated. However, the waiter cleared a table for us efficiently upon request.
The setting was perfect for our outdoor weekend: rapidly flowing river outside our window and lovely views into the valley.
The room was comfortable and spacious fitting myself, my husband and grown son adequately."

The room was spacious and comfortable with a shower and bath.It was very quiet.Breakfast in the morning was great and heather made us feel so at home.

"For a first trip by myself definitely felt safe and comfortable. Staff were amazing, so friendly there was always a good atmosphere. Spacious and clean room and bathroom. No parking but two carparks in walking distance can top up on a morning. Option to come and go from side gate so can avoid being in the way when pub is busy.

"Only stayed one night. Lovely quiet setting. The whole place has character. Staff were great and friendly, very accommodating. Beautiful views from the restaurant and bar of the gardens. Room was nice, tidy and clean although a little warm for my liking. Will be back for another stay soon! "
