"Property was nicely decorated and, whilst there is no reception, the instructions to gain access were easy and worked well. The continental breakfast in the room was lovely and well thought through although there was a lack of English Breakfast tea bags which I assume was just because they hadn’t been topped up. There is no parking at the accommodation but lots of parking in the town centre - it’s only a few minutes walk and I would recommend parking first and then walking to the property as...

"Parking is very convenient and close to the village centre. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room is very small and not what was advertised. It had a skylight but no windows. Towel warmer didn’t work. Breakfast hours were advertised for 9-10:30. When we arrived at 10 they told us breakfast was closed, but when I pointed out their own hours listed on the card, they did make us breakfast."

"The room was spotless beautifully furnished. We had endless tea, coffee milk and biscuits. The staff could not have been more helpful nothing was too much trouble The restaurant and bar was clean and very comfortable. The food was fabulous, well prepared. Added to all this you have a very large car park Would recommend this hotel and give it 10/10."

"Very cozy room in a historic house, best bed and shower from our trip. Breakfast was delicious. No TV, but instead , a lot of great books. I love the details of the decorations specially the ones in the living room. Close to restaurant ."

"Average hotel. They didn’t bother to tell us they were undergoing renovations during our stay so not ideal to be working up with loud drilling works right next to us. Mattress needed replacing several years ago."

"Location was great - 5 mins walk to Christ Church and the rest of all the stuff you want to get to in central Oxford. The free car park was a real bonus. A shame that there is no breakfast (even through there was a photo of a breakfast buffet on the site when we booked). Let's be honest, for the price this is not going to be a luxury hotel (I've stayed in plenty of those), but this was clean, the area of town felt very safe, and the lady who checked us in was super polite and helpful. "I picked this property as we had tickets for a gig at the O2 Academy and wow, it could not have been any closer! Literally a 20 second walk across the road, which when the gig finished was amazing to be able to just fall straight into bed! The place itself is fine, could be better but as a one night stay it was perfectly adequate. The code for the door was emailed to me and worked perfectly, we had no issues. "We really enjoyed our stay at The George. It was authentic, absolutely clean as a whistle and the staff were incredibly helpful and nice. It is an authentic old inn so there were some creaky floors but it fine for us. The staff and the food were amazing. I would stay here again."
