Disappointed

Our stay had a couple of issues but overall it was fine. Contact with the host was mixed, as long as I didn't share any issues it was great.

A Real Gem

The cottage atmosphere and location were the perfect backdrop to a relaxing vacation. The quick walk across the street to the beach and a few good restaurants was ideal. This was my first time visiting the Woodmont area of Milford which is charming and beautiful. Mary is a great host and has everything up pretty much turnkey. I needed to stay close to home and also needed “beach”. Thus, Milford made a great location for that reason. Now I’ll be back because I enjoyed the stay so much.

short getaway

Mary's place was perfect for My husband, dog and I to have a short relaxing getaway. Mary was great to deal with. The home was exactly as pictured with a well stocked kitchen and several comfortable places to relax (Large couch in the living room, beautiful deck, and lush lawn area). The beach was steps away and well behaved leashed dogs were allowed. There were other beaches around with facilities or not. We had a wonderful restful time despite the rain. Thank you Mary!

Week of recovery was wonderful at Mary’s place!

My daughter had surgery in Stamford and we needed a place to stay for over a week to be close to her surgeon. We wanted to be close to a Beach! Mary’s place was perfect, not only was it clean and nicely decorated, Mary is beyond attentive to her guests! I highly recommend her home for your getaway!

Great location and Host!

We enjoyed our stay and loved we could bring our dog with us...she enjoyed the visit as much as we did, especially the walks to the beach and sitting on the terrace. Mary was extremely accommodating and quick to respond the few times we needed to reach out to her. We would recommend this property to those traveling with a well behaved dog and also those who are not traveling with their pet...the accommodations are very nice, which is not always the case with properties which allow dogs. The hostess was irate and her listing details were inaccurate on amenities her house rules are

It was a very uncomfortable .! Her house rules were overboard to the point of severe uncomfortable ! Her sight page amenities list was stalled out ! The neighborhood was noisy , the occupants above were noisy and her initial greeting us was unusual . Her rules for the amount of dogs allowed should be established at teh start of the listing , as she had an issue with out fur family and we had just come from a 2 week stay on other rentals without the ' rude abrupt " behavior she had displayed ! Our fur family reacted to dogs in the neighborhood barking which the hoses are tight , close to each other so it was inevitable ours would bark as well, she made it out that straightaway , if they barked she would be un -happy as her 3 dogs above us were barking until 2 am ... Her initial greeting us was her complaining to us about the renter before we arrived ! It was awful !

Bright, relaxing & luxurious

We rented Mary's home for a week to celebrate our 10 year anniversary & spend some quality down time with each other and our two 4 yr old dogs. Wow, what a spectacular location and opportunity to get away for pet owners! The backyard is fenced with 4 ft high vinyl fencing, exception being under the stairs to the second floor but it is inaccessible due to plants and storage so not a problem unless you have a REALLY determined escape artist. There is an abundance out outdoor furniture inviting you to enjoy your patio or the yard and a noticeable lack of bugs! We spent a considerable amount of time just eating, having our coffee or playing with the dogs outside which was the relaxation we were looking for. The best part though was the accessibility to the beach. Burwell's beach was but a two minute walk, we brought out paddleboards & inflated them once. Otherwise we walked two houses down, across the crosswalk and we were there! Mary had a hose available to rinse human & dog feet which was wonderful and offered us so many other little niceties like chairs or a cooler to use! The beach had some of the most beautiful sunsets (As did our Patio) and it was breathtaking. Inside the rental, all was clean and comfortable. There was ample space for storage of clothes and items for the week. Water pressure was great, heating & cooling was perfect. I have nothing but rave reviews for this home! It is GORGEOUS. There are two restaurants within a minute or two walking distance that were delicious. A few breakfast places only a couple miles away - we rode our bikes to "The Place" one of the days and it was delicious! Some considerations to keep in mind - there is another unit that is rented above this one, we didn't have any issues at all! But one of my dogs is sensitive to noises and would be on alert every time there was movement on the front staircase. Mary also has 3 very sweet small dogs whom you will likely see & get to meet! My more nervous dog can be hit or miss with new dogs - thankfully he liked them! But this is an area with a LOT of dogs. There was always someone walking by the yard, or down the street visible from the living room. If you have a reactive dog I am adding this info for you! :) Overall - if you are considering this place DO it. You won't regret it, there is so much to do in the area even if you are not a beach person and so many wonderful restaurants and stores. The home itself is luxurious and peaceful. Thank you Mary!!

Very Nice Property

Lovely space. The owner Mary was a lovely person and tried to make sure we had a great stay. Very good amenities for the beach and yard. Only 2 negatives. Cleaning was not the best. The bed was not changed and full of sand, had to wash and dry sheets before I could go to bed. Hair in bathroom. Upstairs neighbors very active. Could hear a toddler playing, walking, running much of daytime and crying one night.

Great place in a great neighborhood

Nice apartment with almost everything you need for a nice vacation. Apartment is just as it looks--comfy couch, nice bed, equipped kitchen, nice deck to hang out, working gas grill. Close to beach access. Appreciated beach chairs and beach towels available. Mary wants her guests to enjoy their rental and is quick to respond to any questions. Thanks for the memories.

Perfect pet friendly rental

Mary was a fantastic host and her rental property was perfect. A great little getaway for me and my dog. Beautiful quiet rental and location, walking the dog along the coast and a short drive to Silver Sands State Park. Great communication with the host and she touched base here and there to make sure everything was good or if I needed her. I would definitely rent from Mary again in the future.

A piece of heaven across the street from a beautiful cove beach

Mary, the host, was absolutely wonderful, and couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. The space was clean, beautifully furnished and was a peaceful get away. The beach access was a half a block away, and the beach itself was nearly empty, even on a hot weekend. There were nice restaurants within walking distance, and a nice local supermarket if you didn’t want Io travel the extra 10 minutes to Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods. We would definitely return here again!

Picturesque Connecticut Vacation

The condo was exactly as pictured and described. I met my daughter who lives in Manhattan here for a long Mother/Daughter weekend. It was a quick 2 hour trip by train for her. There was plenty for us to do. We went to the beach, took the ferry to Port Jefferson on Long Island, spent the day in Mystic in the downtown area shopping, went to the Aquarium and the Seaport Museum also in Mysric and went shopping at the outlet mall. We also enjoyed several of the local restaurants and several were within walking distance of the condo. We definitely want to come back next year. Mary the owner was so hospitable and provided bikes and beach chairs for us to use. A perfect summer getaway! I would highly recommend this location whether you are looking to relax, go on some adventures or a little of both! Thanks Mary for providing a beautiful relaxing place for us to enjoy Connecticut!
