A great way to "get away from it all" in Charleston. Relax and enjoy a 1064 square foot cottage with TWO Queen size beds in ONE 25' X 12' bedroom Beautifully furnished and always spotlessly clean, the cottage is a free-standing self-contained private accommodation in a beautiful Charleston garden setting​. E​njoy the well-furnished kitchen with marble countertops and ​the extra large living area with hardwood floors and ten foot ceilings where guests can share a meal and some quality time together.

Only four miles from ​Charleston's Historic District, the Cottage is​ also close to Middleton Gardens, Magnolia Gardens Drayton Hall, Charles Towne Landing​, McLeod Plantation​ and the Avondale Entertainment District,​ There are many places to ​enjoy ​close to the Cottage ​w​ithout the crowds or parking fees. ​T​ake in the gorgeous ​nearby view​s ​a​cross the Intracoastal waterway ​to Johns Island and James Island or the view to the east over the marshlands of Sandy Bay​. The ten mile long West Ashley Greenway is just two blocks to the north of the Cottage. It's great for walking and biking. All of these options are between 2 and 15 minutes away. There are several good restaurants that are walkable or less than a mile from the Cottage. Grab a pastry ​for breakfast from the bakery or have cocktails and a tasty meal​ just a block or two ​away by sidewalk.

​The hosts enjoy​ v​isiting with guests, but ​they also believe in giving people their space. ​Charlie and Rob are available during the day between 8AM and 7PM​.They are happy to assist you with local information or any special needs.​ Feel free to share ​their gorgeous Charleston garden​ anytime​. You can​ sit by the waterfall and meet ​their friendly fish and ​well-known local celebrity, Hoity Toity, the world's most passive aggressive Red​-Eared Slider. A glass of wine or a cup of coffee by the pond is a great way to unwind from a busy day of sight-seeing​. Enjoy quiet time relaxing with a good book under the shade of the pergola or enjoy​ing the smell of white ginger and gardenias from the hidden garden swing. ​The Cottage at DuPont is the place to be for your Charleston vacation.

This was the perfect Thanksgiving getaway. The cottage was immaculate. Charlie was home and greeted us upon arrival. The location is central to everything Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, Isle of Palms. We could not have had a better time. Thanks so very much to Charlie and Rob! We hope to be back soon!

The cottage was very spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. It's a great location for those with a car--close to Downtown and the airport. Our hosts gave us wonderful recommendations on sights to see and restaurants to try. Their back yard is an amazing refuge!

AMAZING stay at private cottage

I would highly recommend this space to anyone visiting Charleston. It was even better than advertised- the space is perfect and private. The location is within reasonable driving distance from everything! Charlie’s backyard is a gorgeous oasis and makes this rental even better.

The Cottage and property were lovely for a weekend get away. The area is quiet and close to all the places we wanted to see. The hosts were amazing and very welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here for your visit to Charleston!!

One week isn't enough

It's really hard to say which part we enjoyed the most about the Cottage at DuPont. The place was immaculately clean, and very well provisioned. It was the perfect distance from downtown. Not too close, not too far. The grounds surrounding the cottage are simply serene. I could have stared at the Koi pond for hours!! Just waiting for a glimpse of the elusive Toity was so relaxing!! I wish we had discovered Folly Beach earlier in the week, but that just means we'll need another trip.Our hosts, Charlie and Rob were very gracious, and a lot of fun to sit and chat with over a glass of wine. This was a terrific way to spend our anniversary week! There's so much to do and see in Charleston that another week or three would have been awesome!Thank you again Charlie and Rob. It was truly a memorable week!!

Gem of a place

The cottage was a wonderful place to stay! It was clean as could be, roomy, and extremely quiet. Charlie was a gracious and informative host who communicated with us in a timely and clear way. He’s also warm and friendly and readily invited us to join him and Rob on their porch at the end of the day. The apartment is nicely equipped, the beds are really comfortable, and the yard is spectacularly beautiful. We would happily stay there again if we ever return to Charleston. We highly recommend their place!

Enchanting and convenient

We just enjoyed a 5-night stay at this true oasis near downtown Charlestown. The apartment is even lovelier than in the images and the koi pond and garden are enchanting. A little slice of heaven

Charlie and Rob have created a beautiful oasis of calm and comfort in West Ashley, (Charleston). The loft itself is wonderfully appointed and tastefully designed. The freshly ground coffee was delicious, as was the choice of wines, already in the wine rack. Our hosts were delightful company; relaxing with them at the koi pond was the perfect way to wind down after a long day exploring downtown Charleston. We loved their suggestions for restaurants and historic sites.Highly recommended!!

Fabulous

Charlie and Rob were perfect hosts. The loft apartment was amazing. It was a perfect respite from all of the graduation activities. From the moment we opened the door - we fell in love. For your info, not a problem for us -There are steps to navigate to the second floor apartment. There is a garden on the property that you can easily loose site of time just relaxing and enjoying. We would come back!!!

Wonderful and relaxing week!

We spent a week at Rob and Charlie's incredible carriage house on a park-like property in West Ashley. We had a rental car and loved the quiet location close to downtown Charleston but also close to historic sites like Middleton Place. Charlie and Rob were amazing hosts....so welcoming, gracious and helpful. The apartment is clean, spacious and tastfully decorated with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom. I definitely recommend this rental!

Lovely Retreat

What a lovely, secluded cottage that offers both privacy and relaxation. The garden and Koi pond were a welcome oasis after a day of touring in Charleston.
