Couldn’t ask for a nicer place or views. With 4 young kids, we throughly enjoyed Akumal and surrounding areas. The place was very clean, pool was great, parking was easy, and snorkeling out front was great too (albeit rocky, but that just gave more places to look for sea life!). Host was very responsive. Would definitely stay again

Terrific week with our daughters. The condo it’s comfortable. Living spaces were very relaxing. View was unbeatable. Great peach access and love the Palapas to rest underneath to get shade. Snorkeling with so much fun.. Great location!!! trying to book for October as I speak.

Amazing Place

We absolutely loved our stay here. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. We used Happy Shuttle from Cancun airport and they were great (like having personal tour guides). The building concierge was also super helpful. We booked a golf cart and a trip to the monkey sanctuary through him. The apartment is just spectacular. Super clean with beautiful finishing. The beds were so comfortable. Air conditioning and fans were great. Bathrooms and kitchen immaculate. Views were unbelievable. Pool and beach were perfect. Enough palapas for the entire building with comfy chairs. Spent evenings on the deck. Great restaurants nearby and awesome snorkeling out front and down the road. Very safe neighborhood. Recommend getting groceries before arriving as the local stores are expensive. Absolutely recommend this VRBO!

Amazing property!

The pictures don't do this condo justice! It is absolutely beautiful and the view is stunning. Clean, tastefully and well decorated. The beds were comfortable. Everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Maid service everyday, clean drinking water provided. Gina was so helpful and responded quickly to all my questions (and there were a lot, lol!). I highly recommend this condo! This property is located on a bay with many condo complexes. The little Jungle Cafe across the street has really good breakfast. La Lunita has good food and drinks. Snorkeling at Yal- ku is within walking distance. (Be aware there are two spots to enter/pay. The one with palapas is to the right and is more expensive but worth the extra money.) ** Note this bay does not have sandy beaches. It is great for snorkeling. We brought our own snorkel gear and snorkeled almost everyday, but it is very rocky and the entire bay is a shallow reef. If you're looking for white, sandy beaches to swim in, there is a beach about 10 minutes (driving) away called Xpu Ha. It's 150 pesos a person to enter and you can rent chairs/beds with umbrellas for another 150 pesos a person, at the local resorts. We spent two days here since I came to Akumal to swim my little pieces heart out! :-)

It’s beautiful!

The pics don’t lie! It’s beautiful. The staff are very kind and responsive. They keep the property very clean! The beach out front is well maintained. The region has an issue with sargassum coming ashore and littering the beach, but they get up very early to clear it away so it lovely when you walk out in the morning. The water is very warm in September stil and we actually found the pool more refreshing. Most of the time we were the only ones floating around, so nice and quiet. Snorkeling might not be as easy as the reviews indicate, meaning the initial 20 feet entry you’re going to encounter coral head rocks and sargassum, but nothing to worry about. Once past it, it’s beautiful. They have a Chef you can hire. He can obtain groceries for you before your arrival or cook your meals! He makes incredible rice and beans among other great dishes! His pork belly was delicious.

Simply Amazing & Will Return

This condo absolutely exceeded our expectations. Glorious, beautiful and with so much surrounding magic. We felt so immersed with the ocean view and every detail/decoration was so impressive. Hand-crafted and with love. The staff was friendly, helpful and so acommodating at every step of the way. This lavish stay was worth every single peso. And then some.We experienced everything from watching 99 sea turtles hatch to eating at the delicious 5 star restaurant "La Lunita" right down the beach. We explored the Lagoon just right down the road and saw every colored fish imaginable. Snorkeled the beach and saw the amazing coral reefs along with every beautiful fish you could ever imagine. Bring your goggles, snorkel and water shoes. It was the experience of a lifetime and we are so grateful to have stayed at such a wonderful condo and location. Akumal will forever be a special place in our hearts. Thank you!

Ultimate View/Waters

Most amazing snorkeling experiences in that bay! Be careful swimming, there's so much underwater life that resides there. Super calm and clear waters to explore for hours. The view was perfect, the space immaculate. Would definitely book again!

Simply the best, better than all the rest

The best unit in all of Akumal. The unit set up is thoughtful, comfortable and beautiful. The big window is a show stopper. You will not see anything like it anywhere else. The cleaning crew does fantastic job! They come every day and no sand on the floor. The kitchen has everything you need, plus owner provided paper towels, iodine cleaning solution ( for fruits and veggies), coffee! and water. There was also salt and sugar. There is no dishwasher , but cleaning crew will do dishes. Bathrooms are beautiful clean and soap, beginner shampoo are provided. There is no washer and dryer in the unit or the building. The owner has offsite laundry service arranged, ask receptionist. The beach: there is sand for kids to play but the strip of sand is narrow. To enter water, there are rocks large and small so you must have water shoes and be careful. The bay is all private beach: very few people. Because of rocks and reefs, the bay is GREAT for snorkeling. There is also Yal Ku in walking distance, that is is great for small children to see fish. Neighborhood is quiet. Close by there 2 restaurants on the beach. Both good. There is a small convenience store near by. Near the city beach: There are more restaurants , small grocery store and shops 10min drive, 30min walk. We visited city beach : $6/person entrance The city beach easy water entrance ( almost no rocks) but you have to make camp in front of hotels. The only public, public area is covered with boats. The water is usually calmer in Akumal bay than Half moon bay. One trip to city beach was enough. We stayed in Half Moon bay for rest of vacation. Akumal is very convinent to visit Tulúm ruins and closer to Coba and Chichen Itzá. You need to have a car though taxis are readily available. Rental of golf carts is $40/day. In summary, if you are planning to stay in Akumal, this unit is absolutely the best option.

Great place , great location, and great restaurants . Owners recommendations from car rental,shopping, and site seeing . Seaweed is bad this time of year but can’t control Mother Nature . Would stay here again !

Amazing!

We all had an amazing vacation in Half Moon Bay, Akumal. The property was exactly what was described and exceeded our expectations. Julio and the staff were very knowledgable, friendly and courteous. We do not like the hustle and bustle of a resort, so this laid back environment was perfect!! We will definitely be back! Thank you for the great memories!

Ahhhhmazing!

Gina, your condo is nothing short of amazing! The decor, the space, the location, everything! We arrived Friday, had lunch at la lunita down the road! That food was great! Went to Tulum And playa del Carmen the other nights for dinner which was a short 30 minute drive. We had dinner one night at la bueno vida just a short walk from the condo but wasn’t impressed. There was so much seaweed though, but we were ok driving down the road to lol-ha to eat and enjoy the clean seaweed-less beach. Julio was great! We lost power one night thru the day and he kept us up to date with the restore. I had such an amazing time in Mexico, I canceled my flight and stayed an extra day in Cancun, definitely will be visiting again!

Beautiful Oceanfront Condo

The condo was exactly as pictured in the photos and was perfect for a group of friends! The location was great- nearby food and plenty of activities. Julio (the Property Manager) was extremely kind and helpful- he assisted in arranging a golf cart rental, taxis, etc. Overall a great experience. Would recommend!

Beautiful property

Beautiful property with amazing view of the ocean. Property was decorated nicely and has everything we need. Having young kids, our only complaint was that we had to drive to main beach for kids to be able to swim in ocean. The sargassum was bad this time of year and there was not really any access to ocean in front of property. We did enjoy the pool. We drove down to the main beach and had our kids swim there where there was less sea weed and calmer water. Other than that, I would highly recommend! Property was well kept up and property management was super helpful and answered any questions we had. Very accommodating! We visited the Monkey sanctuary nearby (highly recommend!) our favorite restaurant was Turtle Bay. Thanks

First Aukumal visit but not the last!

We loved our stay! The condo was just as pictured and was so beautiful. Julio was welcoming upon arrival and an asset through out our stay with golf cart rental, where to go see and eat! The maid staff were so thorough and sweet! We felt very safe in this community. Definately recommend water shoes for swimming in the ocean. Our daughter spent endless hours in the pool which was crystal clear and quite warm. There are many restuarnts with in walking distance from the condo and all were very good. We are allready planning our return next spring!

Great Half Moon Bay Akumal Condo

This is our second year to stay at La Joya where we have rented to different Units #5 and this year #7. Great well maintained units with wonderful amenities and hard working - very nice support people taking care of the property. Good Location with lots of dining choices nearby. Most likely will go again.

Exactly as advertised!

The condo was wonderful - exactly as advertised. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available. Quiet, gated neighborhood. The pool was clean, the beach was excellent. Will be back 100%!!
