"I had a superb winter avoidance break at Bahia Principe. The pre booked transfer with Amstar worked perfectly both ways - just over an hour from Cancun. I opted for the shared transport but was the only passenger on both trips! Really good and competent drivers - if you’re unfamiliar with the locality this is a much better option than renting a car for yourself! The room was fabulous, stocked minibar replenished daily, comfortable bed, clean and spacious shower room, small balcony to relax on...

"It was exactly as described. The place was nice with a beautiful view of the ocean. The staff was nice and we enjoyed the little town. My only complaint was all the seaweed. It was in large piles all over the beach which made the beach in front of the place pretty useless. "

"O hotel é muito bom, localização praia etc, o que deixou a desejar mais foi a comida para um hotel 5 estrelas há uma expectativa muito grande e a piscina 2 do lobby está totalmente degradada e perigosa inclusive com ladrilhos danificados. Os atendentes em grande maioria são bem receptivos mas acho que pode ter uma evolução pra um padrão 5 estrelas, o atendente da área de praia pra o snorkel e caiaque por exemplo era bem grosseiro. No geral o hotel é bom, com melhorias pontuais. "

"David was a great host. The private cenote is very nice and relaxing. The jungle cabin is very basic if that is what you are looking for, no option for cooking. We enjoyed being able to unplug for the night and listen to the monkeys and birds from the nearby sanctuary. "

"Akumal is a special town that I have visited for over 25 years. This was my first time staying at LaSerina. Such a lovely location. The courtyard gardens are full of beautiful tropical plants, and is beautifully maintained. There is a large lovely pool in the center of this courtyard. The condo was decorated in traditional Mexican decor with lots of nice personal touches. The staff were amazing. Would definitely stay here again."

"Not outstanding, just a fair place to stay. A 2 bed 2 bath condo is about the same price as this one bed, one bath suite after all the fees and taxes are added to the final cost. Unable to negotiate price per night with owner. Bed very comfortable, toilet needs fixed, maid service was excellent, kitchen offered the bare minimum utensils for making meals.
