Beautifully restored home in Wilmington Historic District with pool

Enjoy the charm of this historic cottage home. Located among the many attractions of downtown and within an easy drive to the beaches, this historic yet modern home makes for the perfect spot to enjoy everything Wilmington has to offer. And if you just want to escape and relax, you have private access to the beautiful pool oasis right outside your back door. (The pool is not heated and generally too cold to be in from late September through mid-May, but the pool remains open and the pool area can be enjoyed year round.)

The historic but completely renovated home includes a comfortable living room, a dining room that seats eight, a well-equipped kitchen, and a large back deck. The two bedrooms each have their own en suite bathrooms with walk-in showers. Additional sleeping is available on the fold-out sofa in the living room. The front porch, deck, courtyard, and private pool areas offer great outdoor space for enjoying coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening, as well as a great place to soak up the sun or lounge in the shade!

All of historic downtown Wilmington is an easy walk from the house. There is off-street parking for two vehicles. All linens and towels are provided, including pool and beach towels.

This home is not only in a prime location to enjoy Wilmington, but has everything you need to make for a relaxing getaway!

Because of the outdoor space, guests often want to invite others over to join them. Small gatherings are permitted, but we ask that you inform us first if anyone not staying at the house is coming over. The house is in a residential neighborhood and we ask that our guests be courteous of our neighbors. Therefore, we donā€™t allow groups of more than 12 and ask hosts to monitor noise levels, particularly after 9:00pm.

Please note that we are no longer able to accommodate pets in our home.

We live right next door to the property, so if you have any needs or questions while you are staying, we are very easy to reach.

Wonderful cottage

This is lovely property and well appointed. The kitchen is fully stocked with all manner of cooking implements. The house is perfectly decorated and very welcoming. Everything was very clean and also well organized. The pool and pool area are a nice oasis and for your iwn eclusive use. This is a great place to stay when visiting Wilmington and a perfect location to access restaurants and the historic downtown. This will become your favorite place to stay in Wilmington NC.

Perfect stay!

This house is beautifully appointed and totally comfortable and it is hard to leave when it is time! It has most anything that you would need on vacation and very clean. Fabulous kitchen when you want to eat in. Location is perfect, walking distance to downtown, lots of shopping and restaurants and bars. Having a washer and dryer is very convenient. The pool and back yard are outstanding, has a resort feel. The owners couldnā€™t be any nicer, and right next door if you need them. This is a beautiful historic home with all the comforts! You wonā€™t be sorry if you stay here!!

Perfect in every way

Chris and Matt were unbelievable hosts. This downtown oasis is designed to perfection and is full of character. The house and amenities were in great condition and remarkably clean, and it was located within walking distance to just about anything you need in downtown Wilmington. The communication and flexibility of the hosts was also unmatched. We will definitely be returning for a stay in the future ā€” and would be permanent guests if we were able!

Sweet Wilmington - we'll be back

We had a wonderful stay over April vacation; myself and my two boys. We're from New England and found the pool water very swimmable. We had great weather during our stay, which I am sure helped.The house itself was exactly what I had hoped for: clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The beds were very comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and everything was in great working order.Proximity to downtown Wilmington was nice as wellā€”it was a very cute neighborhood with charming homes all around. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Chris but Matt was lovely to talk to, and very available for anything we needed.I highly recommend this house for your Wilmington stay!

Awesome Historic House and Location

This well-appointed house has it all! It is stocked with everything needed for your visit. From the cozy front porch with rocking chairs to the beautiful backyard with multiple seating areas, it really feels like your at home. The decor is lovely and the furniture is comfortable and practical. The house is in a quaint neighborhood and is very walkable to all the restaurants and bars. Our host made check-in and out a breeze. Iā€™ve stayed in multiple VRBO properties and this was the best one yet!

Long Weekend

The house is beautiful. The pool and outdoor areas were so enjoyable. Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, everything you would need is here. Perfect location within 15 minute walk to everything! A wonderful find In the Wilmington historic district!

Matt and Chris provided a great stay for us in their lovely two bedroom Wilmington getaway. They were great hosts and provided everything we needed . The house is super comfy with all the necessities. Make sure you bring your swimsuit for the pool and tropical sitting area, outback!

Look No Further!

This place is amazing. Stunning. You can walk a few short blocks to downtown Wilmington and a short 20 minute drive to the beaches. The pool is spectacular --- the pictures do not do it justice. It's your own private resort pool and cabana! Our family had a blast swimming and relaxing there.The home is immaculate and decorated perfectly. Sometimes you book a vacation rental and you show up to be a bit disappointed ---- but with this rental you will show up and have your expectations surpassed. Matt and Chris were spectacular hosts. They were kind, helpful and fun to talk with. Seriously - stop searching and book this place.

Uniquely Perfect in Downtown Wilmington

Iif you are looking for a coastal vacation that is more than the beach, look no further than this charming house in downtown Wilmington. With an amazing private pool and perfectly appointed house, Matt and Chris have thought of everything you'll want during your vacation. They've taken care of the easily overlooked things - fluffy towels, a well appointed kitchen with all the gadgets, furniture that's actually comfortable, peaceful bedrooms, lots of outdoor spaces - that quickly made us feel like we were in our own home, not staying at someone else's rental. And the pool... pictures don't even do the backyard justice, and we found ourselves either in the pool or gathering around it at all hours of the day.. With it being a quick walk to downtown restaurants and sites, and only a 15 minute or so drive to the beach, this house was the perfect place for us to take in all Wilmington had to offer. We loved our time here, and can hardly imagine a more perfect place to vacation in Wilmington.

Gorgeous and felt like Home!!

My family and I had a great time long weekend at this home! It was beautifully decorated and had everything you needed. The pool area was private and so peaceful, so many seating options for sun and shade. The neighborhood is so adorable and walkable, many options for restaurants, shopping, coffee and ice cream are all in walking distance. The home owner was extremely accommodating and so friendly. I would definitely recommend and revisit!

I want this home at my home

Matt and Chrisā€™s cottage is beautiful and provided a perfect home away from home for me, my husband, college-age daughter during our short stay in Wilmington. We so appreciated being able to stay in a stunningly decorated, clean and conveniently located property that is dog-friendly and allowed us to entertain relatives who were staying in nearby Wrightsville Beach. (The propertyā€™s furnished swimming pool space is a luxurious bonus room.) I have land enough for a backyard bungalow where I live. If I ever create one, Iā€™d model it after this historic, thoughtfully renovated home.

Historic charm with a garden oasis

Check-in was wonderful. We were given detailed instructions on how to operate the lock and were preemptively asked if we would like to check-in early-which we did. The home is exceptionally clean and well-appointed with everything we needed including abundant, fresh linen. The beds were comfortable and the kids didnā€™t complain about sleeping on the Pottery Barn sofa-bed. The pool area is even better than portrayed in the photos. The area is expansive with multiple areas to lounge, play, sunbathe or dine. The Hosts were very friendly, responsive, and gave us a great recommendation for outdoor dining at Indochine. This isnā€™t an investment property with absent owners. The hosts love their home and it shows. Parking: Pros: There is off-street parking available in the Historic District Concerns: The off-street parking area is very narrow. If you have a very large SUV (Navigator L, Suburban or similar) you will have to climb over the center console to exit the vehicle and branches will likely scrape the top of your vehicle. There is usually street parking available, but not always. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend you check it out if you are fortunate to find it available on your trip to Wilmington.

The house was a welcoming place to stay, very comfortable and the host thought of everything. Close to riverfront and local historic house museums. Short drive to Wrightsville beach and other area attractions. Perfect stay if you are looking for two primary bedrooms with private baths.

Can't wait to go back

When we arrived, Chris met us at the door. Shortly after we met Matt. I cannot say enough about these two guys. Outstanding personalities. They made us feel like we owned the cottage. We were right at home including the back oasis with the saltwater pool and the Lanai. Water was pretty chilly, but it did not stop me from getting in. I could write a short book on our 4 days stay but you just got to check it out for yourself. We also loved the fact it's in the Historic district and is a documented home. Nothing like a hotel, I'll never stay in another hotel again. Dave & Linda
