"Absolutely perfect location, very scenic and quiet. The cabin was cozy, well equipped and the ideal base for exploration of the area. Bed was super comfy, had the best night's sleep and the shower blasted you awake for the day ahead. All in all a brilliant wee find and we'd definitely return. "This was our best stay on our whole trip to Scotland. While, it was a little off the beaten path, it provided a quiet, cosy oasis after we had been staying in towns in lodges without parking for our car. Achmore had ample parking on site. Ida met us at our car and showed us to our room while loading more fire wood in the pot belly stove in room. It was a lovely site as we walked in! So warm and cosy. The apartment was spacious with a full kitchen. We cooked dinner and Ida had even left us a wee...

"Rowan Cottage is a super cute place to stay. It is nestled in the forest which would be a great place to explore if I brought my little ones. (Next time for sure). When we entered it was nice and toasty warm. The lounge and kitchen had everything we needed. The house directions/expectations were easily found. Loads of space and I will definitely be back for a longer stay. Thanks!!"

"Perfect location for our half way stop on NC 500 so glad we had sunshine as the roads to the cottage would be challenging in bad weather. We did try to drive down to the beach for sunset but missed the turning and ended up stuck behind a herd of cows. It was good to light a fire have a drink and warm up a pizza. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but we forgave it because everything else was so good ( and we do usually sleep on king size vspring which is difficult to match away from home) "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Cottage was quintessential Scottish and beautiful. Beds very comfortable. Only suggestion would be to have a coffee maker for those of us who would like a pot of coffee and didn’t have a dryer. Fortunately we were able to dry clothes in the glorious sunshine while we were in the Highlands. Strathpeffer was a lovely place to visit. Drove to Ullapool for the day, great day trip. Overall, highly recommend this beautiful spot!"

"This little cottage was so cute. It was well equipped with everything we needed for a few days. It was within walking distance to a convenient store that had plenty of food options. Close enough to isle of Skye for some day trips!"
