Filthy place not cleaned properly. Bathroom products clearly used already. Owners food left in freezer. Cobwebs everywhere. Kitchen and attic is all you get. Impossible to stand in bedroom. Wall hangings everywhere which we believe is to cover damp or dirty patches. Smoke detector not installed. Threadbare beds and seats. Smelt bad. Overall feeling of not wanting to sit down on anything for fear of catching something! It was so filthy we didnĀ“t stay there!!! Even though weĀ“d spent hours driving there we then had to sit in car for 2 more hours to find a new hotel. Birthday trip ruined. Owner totally unhelpful and uninterested.

Upon arrival we inspected the house. The entrance looked as if the apt was abandon. Once we entered and inspected the house i was appalled! The Vrbo text for the bedroom stated 2 double beds and 1 twin. The bedroom had 1 double bed and a single mattresses on the floor!!! The single bathroom had 2 worn and faded towels. I reserved this for a party of 3 months ago.There were extention cords across the floor in the bedroon and a portable space heater for the bath had an extension cord over the floor, under the door and snaked inyo a nearby outlet. The pictures do not represent what the property looks like in person! We returned the key and left to find other accommodations...even though it was later and raining. I have reached out to the owner twice in the last 48 hrs and he has not responded.

This is not just a place with a bed and a bath, but was an experience. It starts with the peaceful setting that is a bit off the beaten path. Next are all the bright interior colors that have been used throughout. There are a lot of interesting pictures and items on the walls that give one the impression that you are a visitor in someoneā€™s home. Of course the bed was fine, the hot water plentiful, and the washer and dryer handy. My short stay here was very nice and added to my experiences in Scotland. I hope to get visit again.

Stop over on NC500

A little remote but lively location. The headroom in the upstairs bedroom is a little restrictive for a tall chap like myself. It was a slight challenge to find the various light switches but no drama. Kettle, tea and coffee were provided but no milk. Emergency provisions (canned soup and some frozen items) were available but it is a 20 minute ride/drive to the next village where I had a delicious meal at the seafood restaurant.

The first thing when we arrived and parked the car by the house, we were told to remove it and park like 20m awayā€¦ so with baby and toddler that was complicated. There was enough parking space by the way. The property is far away. So if you want to get away from everything that may fit you. So this was a full cottage with kitchen and all appliances and bathroom.. the thing which we didnā€™t like is that the property smells like urine. In the room you barely can stand as itā€™s more like an attic. I am quite tall so I had to band. I would say this cottage suits more for fisher man than for family with kids. Everything what you need was in the, buuut it was dirty. In the toilet I found big black bug.. if the owner would at least paint all internal house in white or any other light colour that already would look much cleaner and lighter.

Quaint and quiet little out of the way spot right near the lake in a secluded village... Comfortable cottage, well appointed with necessary amenities... Sorry driving distance to food options... Only issue we had was with the wifi, we simply could not get the password to work... No big deal... Enjoyed our stay, would recommend...

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage suited our needs, and we appreciated the amenities in the cottage, including the laundry, kitchen and shower facilities. The setting is lovely and quiet, and we enjoyed walking and exploring the village, the stunning views, and finding sea glass by the shore. It definitely suited our budget as we were able to drive into the Isle of Skye, spend the day, and drive back to the cottage for the night, The cottage is also close to Eilean Donan castle which we really enjoyed.

Real cute place to stay, beautiful views looking out the upstairs window. Very attentive landlord, friendly and always helpful. A mild musty smell when entering and dont drive there at night. Very scary on the roads. The place had all the amenities you need, warm shower nice cozy bed a kitchen if you wanted to cook. Wish we had more time during the day to explore, im sure it is amazing walkibg around the property.

The property was quaint and as expected from other reviews and the listing details. It felt rather damp but there were electric fan heaters in each room which quickly warmed the place up. The Wi-Fi kept going off and we were unable to make the tv work but that wasnā€™t an issue as we were only there for two nights.

Although a bit out of the way for places to eat, the accommodation included a full kitchen so you can cook a meal. Also a washing machine and dryer which was a big plus for us. Stairs quite steep up to bedroom so as we were only staying one night we just took the clothes we needed in a backpack and left suitcase in vehicle or downstairs.

The photo showing the ā€˜exteriorā€™ of the cottage, i.e on the waterfront is not the cottage. Itā€™s at least 500m from that with no view of the loch apart from at the bedroom window. It was not as clean as weā€™d expect and the decor too ā€˜busyā€™ the kitchen/dining/ sitting area very cluttered. The bath mat was soaking wet. We had booked for two nights but left early the first morning having had no choice but to sleep there.

NC500 Overnight Stay

The property was suitable for an overnight stop. Not much in local area, so stock up with whatever you need at Spar in Lochcarron. Although the bedroom can accommodate a family of 3, it's more suited to a couple.

Sistemazione molto spartana

Se volete stare fuori dal caos del turismo di massa di skye, questo posto fa per voi. Vicino cā€™ĆØ Plockton che, mia opinione, ĆØ cento volte piĆ¹ carina della affollata Portree. Da qui in un ora sarete comunque sul Quairang, a nord di Skype per una gita in giornata . Il cottage ĆØ molto molto spartano ma accogliente

The cottage was great for 2 people with easy access to the sights. Just two notes: 1) The stairs to the bedroom are steep, so be aware of that if you have any mobility issues. 2) The unit smells strongly of cigarettes, for those who may be sensitive.

Extensive man cave or glamping location

The owner had first cut the grass, then made the beds. Gras everywhere. I cleaned the bedroom and kitchen) sitting area before use. It is a nice little man cave, unfit for people allergic to moist surroundings, dogs or tobacco smoke. Quirky us the word I guess. Host is nice.
