"The location is beautiful, close to some great trails if you're hiking. The pub itself is lovely as well. Food and drinks were good and affordable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! They were a bit overwhelmed in the restaurant in the evening though - not sure if it was because there were more people than anticipated, or not enough staff, but food was very slow coming out and both nights we ate there there were errors in our order. "I’ve stayed already 4 times. facilities are great, no denying. when they work… Pool was closed for 3 out of the 4 nights i was staying; when asking when it would reopen I was politely told to go and find it out myself (like staff is not interested to know and inform guests?!), and finally when remaining planet conscious I asked for room service every 2 days (middle of my stay) and they missed that too. dont know what happened this time, but this is how I felt leaving the hotel"

"Lovely, clean, and comfortable room. The bed and mattress were of excellent quality, and I had a very good night's sleep. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was fantastic. "Fantastic location. Ideal for what we needed but also really rural-feeling and peaceful. We found it quiet and charming. We enjoyed wandering in amongst the old orchard and down through the copse, across the scrubland that forms part of the floodplain of the Tyne. It was good to know there are badgers around although we weren’t lucky enough to see anyway. The dawn chorus was impressive. Very pleasant indeed. Definitely will book again if we’re back in the area. "

The rooms on ground floor have a parking space right outside with access via patio doors direct from the room which makes it easy to load/unload luggage. Bar area lovely for drinks.
