Get away and come stay at Maple, a cute and cozy cabin near Donner Lake! Cozy up next to the fireplace with the whole family and play a board game or watch your favorite movie. Or, if you need your privacy, you'll appreciate that every bedroom is in a different section of the house. The master bedroom is accessible from the dining area through a private staircase, the queen room is located down the hallway on the main level, and the double full room in up the staircase off the living room. It even has it's own loft area to relax and enjoy your own personal TV. Not a homebody? No problem. Pack up a lunch, grab a blanket and eat right on the lake at one of the public docks or picnic areas! The West End beach is just a short walk away!

Nice property. Those stairs to the attic are challenging! Some kind of handhold on the right hand side as you come down from the top would be good. The Mirriones need to know that the “hot” water in the master bedroom at the top of the house is only tepid. Something is a mess there.

The cabin was awesome. It was far enough back from the main road that we didn't get a lot of traffic, but it was close enough that we walked to the lake. It was clean and had a lot of space in it for the 5 of us. It had everything that we needed, and we will be rebooking again for next year immediately.

Great choice

We spent 3 nights with our adult children. Cozy cabin with plenty of room. Well laid out. Everything we needed for cooking a Thanksgiving dinner. Easy walk to lake and to the Pub. Everything we were hoping for. (A particularly cool cafe style microwave oven). Would love to come back. Things to know…there were hairdryers in two bathrooms although we were told there were none. Towels were stingy. In “our” bathroom, we had 2 large towels, 1 small and 1 wash cloth. The management company couldn’t tell us what kitchen supplies were there. It turned out to be an extensively stocked kitchen but for our purposes it would have been nice to know before we traveled. We came just after a snow storm. No problem getting to the property. But for the duration of our stay “our” street wasn’t fully plowed.

Donner lake weekend

We had such fun at Donner lake. Our stay at Alpine Retreat was amazing! The house is so cute! The property management company was very easy to communicate with and very quick to respond. We will definitely be back.

Set-up is very nice, 2 master bedrooms plus a 3rd upstairs with a loft. Charming cabin, very clean and dog friendly. Short walk to the beach and The Pub.

We all (5) really liked this cabin. Good beds with nice separation, comfortable common areas. Heating is a bit quirky but adequate--gas fireplace in the living room and gas wall heaters in 2 of 3 bedrooms. We were there during a snowstorm--roads required 4WD or chains but were plowed, and the driveway is blessedly short and flat. Lots of games, well-stocked kitchen. Some minor complaints: advance info about the property was generic from mgmt company; no instructions about how to use the various appliances except fireplace instructions hidden in a notebook; master bathroom had no soap, and shower temp was blocked from going hotter than tepid. None of these were deal breakers and would return. It's super convenient to Sugar Bowl!

Quick getaway

This property is perfect with easy walk to lake and all of the amenities of home. It was just the two of us and as soon as we walked in we said, “we can’t wait to bring the kids back here!”

Wonderful place!

The cabin was very cute, clean and updated. Location was also perfect and the management was very responsive and accommodating. There was privacy with the 3 bedrooms being in different locations.

Great cabin & location

Overall a great stay, cabin was just the right size. Loved the location. Fireplace was nice and cozy. Kitchen was really well stocked. Dishwasher a plus. Bathrooms were really nice, great to have 2 full. Common space was cozy and comfortable. A couple of minor improvements could be made including: check in and out times, check in time is really late and check out time early so you don't get a day to use the cabin on either of those days, or even a half day. The cabin was freezing when we arrived and took quite some time to warm up. There was no clear recycling option. Otherwise the stay was great!
