“Sanctuary on Bass Lake” is a private home sitting high on a hill overlooking Bass Lake, surrounded by trees, without a neighbor in sight. This 2800 Sq. Ft. two-story home in the forested outskirts of Traverse City is the perfect location for your next getaway.

Keeping with the “homes” original charm while updating the furnishings, décor and style, this beautiful location boasts 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. The upstairs living room and screened in porch provide stunning views of Bass Lake. The lower level also features a family/game room along with sliding glass doors out to the well-appointed outdoor patio and seating area with a fire pit and BBQ for watching gorgeous sunsets.

This beautiful home sits high atop a hill directly overlooking Bass Lake. The home sits on 1.75 Acres of private land with over 300 Ft of private Lake access. Plenty of space for hikes around the property, walks down to the lake or a trip out on our provided paddle boat, kayaks or canoe to explore the area off of the private dock.

This home can easily accommodate 4 vehicles in the driveway, up to 6 cars could be accommodated with some swapping of spots. The home is well stocked for hosting, whipping up tasty meals, restful nights, and gathering with friends and family. Tastefully designed and decorated, this home awaits only you to make a memorable family experience.

Please Note: Quiet hours begin at 10pm, and no unauthorized parties are allowed to ensure a peaceful neighborhood setting.

Please note that the private dock and pontoon has been removed for the winter and can not be used for the rest of the year. Thank you for your understanding!

☆☆ BEDROOMS ☆☆
This home features Four bedrooms on the upstairs main level, with a Queen-sized bed in each bedroom. The Master bedroom also features an ensuite full bath. The lower level features a fifth large bedroom with Two Twin beds.

If you are traveling with a young one, you will find a Pack ‘n’ Play crib and a highchair in the home and available for your use.

With Five full bedrooms and a Pack ‘n’ Play crib, this home can comfortably accommodate up to 8 adults and/or an infant, a rare commodity in Traverse City right on the Lake.

☆☆ BATHROOMS ☆☆
The home is equipped with Three full baths, the shared hallway bathroom features a soaking clawfoot tub. The Master bathroom features a standup shower. The lower-level full bathroom features a walk-in shower. All bathrooms feature high quality fixtures and are fully stocked with high quality amenities.

☆☆ KITCHEN ☆☆
The fully equipped kitchen on the main level of the home has everything the chef in your group could need to prepare tasty meals, including gas stove, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher along with blender, and coffee station with an assortment of coffee and tea available. We also supply Children’s dinnerware and utensils, along with a high chair for young families.

☆☆ DINING ROOM☆☆
The home features a formal dining room surrounded by large picture windows, with plenty of seating for your gathering, as well as a BBQ Grill and multiple outdoor seating options on the screen porch or multi-level decks.

☆☆ LIVING ROOM ☆☆
The cozy living room with plush furnishings, a flat-screen Smart TV equipped with Hulu and other apps for your own logins. The main living room features a fireplace and large picture windows overlooking the Lake.

There is also a downstairs family/game room for your group to gather and play, including a large 72” Smart TV for movie nights. If you are looking for some family fun or group activity, check out our large board game collection in the lower-level family room. We also supply a variety of children’s toys and books.

☆☆ EXTRA AMENITIES☆☆
This home features a game room on the lower level stocked with family games, great for guests with young ones. The lower level also features a large Laundry Room with a full-sized washer and dryer stocked with all of the necessary supplies and amenities.

The home features a paddle boat and kayaks and canoe available for guest use along with life vests. The attached garage is not available for use at this time.

Please Note: While the property does have a floating dock, it is not suitable for docking boats. Guests are welcome to use the public boat launch located just up the road on Trail Ends Road to put their boat in and out of the water. Once done, the boat will need to be removed from the lake and can be conveniently parked at the property—there is ample space with six dedicated parking spots.

- Check-in/out: Please note during our peak season (June-September) we discourage late check-outs and early check-ins due to the tight turn-around schedules of our cleaning teams. We are happy to allow for an early check-in or late check-out if our cleaning team is able to accommodate the request and still allow the rental to be cleaned to our quality standards and specifications. All early check-ins and late check-outs will be charged a $250.00 additional fee for this expedited service. We are able to accommodate early check-in and late check-outs during our off season (October-May) for a reduced fee of $100.00, please contact us for further information.

- Longer stays: Please be aware guest stays longer than 10-days will require mid-stay cleaning. Mid-stay cleaning fees are the same amount as the fee charged during booking. A weekly cleaning and linen/towel exchange is required for long-term guest stays, short-term guest stays may request a mid-stay cleaning for an extra fee.

- Security deposit: Please note that 3 days before check in time, we will place a temporary pre-authorization hold of $500 on your card. This hold verifies fund availability and covers potential incidental expenses during your stay. The hold will be released 7 days within check-out, pending no outstanding charges or damages. Your privacy and security are paramount, and all card information is handled confidentially.

- Cancellations: Please check the cancellation policy on your booking platform. Please note that even if you are eligible for a full refund, a credit card processing fee will be deducted.

*Please note that violation of any of these rules is considered a breach of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. The owner reserves the right to evict any guests or visitors who refuse to follow these house rules. The violation of house rules may result in deductions from the security deposit or other penalties.

Child Safety: Parents must not leave children unsupervised and are fully responsible for their safety at all times.

Safety & Energy Saving: Please close the windows and lock the door when leaving the premises.

Report any damages and/or breakages immediately.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Smoking or burning candles are not allowed inside the home. No eating or drinking in bedrooms.

Please do not wear shoes inside the house. Please turn off any electronics when you leave the house.

Visitors & Noise: No unregistered guests or visitors allowed. The maximum property capacity is 8 people. Parties and events are strictly prohibited. Third parties are not welcome, and the place is for guests only. Quiet time after 10 p.m. Please refrain from making noises past 10 p.m. to respect our neighbors. NO FIREWORKS ALLOWED.

Pets: This property currently does not allow pets

Housekeeping: Daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We will be happy to help arrange additional cleaning during your stay for a fee. If you run out of clean linens (sheets/pillow cases) and towels etc., you are welcome to use the laundry facility to replenish them. PLEASE do not wipe any food, oils, or lotions on the linens. Please use the kitchen towels (paper or cloths) for their intended purposes.

We provide black make-up towels and cotton pads for removing makeup. If our other towels are stained or bleached during your stay, we will charge a $15 replacement fee for each towel.

Property/Home owner(s), Property Manager will not assume responsibility for illness or injury that guest(s) may incur while on the property. Property/Home owner(s), Property Manager, is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or property of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are assuming the responsibility of any harm arising from their use of the premises or other people they invite to this property (per owner’s approval). Owner has the right to ask guest(s) to leave the property if these rules are violated. If legal action is taken against guest(s), the at fault party will be responsible for all law suits/lawyer fees. Any violation of these rules could result in you being charged your security deposit and/or legal action taken. Call 911 if there is an emergency and then call the host.

Easy to get to when flying into Traverse City and we enjoyed the lovely surprise of feeling secluded among the trees with a beautiful lake view. We wished we would have known how far and steep the trail from the house was to the lake access, they were too difficult for anyone with walking instability. A couple of changes we would have liked was an hand-held spray faucet or a bucket, as it was challenging to wash one’s hair in the tub without it, add sea salt to the spice rack, and a guide to the house and local sights and restaurants. Other than those items, the kitchen was easy to cook in, WiFi was strong, the fireplace warmed the space in the morning, and the space was large enough for our retreat! A comfortable, lovely place to spend time with friends!

We had a great stay. Our two families (4 kids total) had plenty of space. The kitchen is well appointed. The house is well stocked with everything you need to kayak, canoe, and more. We enjoyed the fire pit every night. We did notice the water pressure was quite low (the house is on well water/septic as most are in this area) which made it difficult for more than one person to shower at the same time, or to simultaneously run the laundry and shower, but we were able to manage that by staggering our indoor water use.

Best family trip!!

We absolutely loved the property!! Bass Lake is gorgeous and so relaxing. We took the paddle boat out fishing and caught bass and a northern. The house was clean and beautifully decorated with LOTS of space. The location was perfect! We spent a day downtown and it was a short drive. We also rented a pontoon on Lake Leelanau (a must do) and it was only a 30 minute drive! Would highly recommend this property and we hope to come back soon!!
