"Beautiful hotel and nicely decorated rooms. At check-in, reception staff called Victoria was not very welcome and did not seem keen on relocating us to another room (the one given to us was on a lower level and the lift was out of order). I was with a 1 year old child, pregnant and had heavy suitcases, however she insisted there's was nothing she could do to help, treated us poorly and did not seem to care. "Gavin and Christopher have put a lot of thought into giving you an enjoyable stay at the Manorhaus Ruthin. The rooms are decorated reflecting welsh designs. The dining room has beautiful sculptures. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious with a lot of choice. The coffee was excellent. Overall we had a great week end stay. The Manorhaus is only minutes walking into the centre where there are several excellent eateries/restaurants"

"Location is great. Hote Is basic as reflected in price as well as reviews. Restaurant at hotel was terribly understaffed - only one chef. Took an hour and 20 mins for food to arrive. Secondly, there was no daily cleaning or towel change and was not mentioned clearly."

"Stayed here for a couple of nights in April 2026. Lovely large room in the Tower! Had both breakfast and dinner here each day. Food was excellent. Service slow the first evening fo dinner but fine the second evening. Historic hotel with amazing wood carvings. "

The garden has a knockout location right on the river and some rooms also have this gorgeous view, including the huge bathroom with freestanding tub. There are however a lot of stairs. "We had a lovely stay, the place was nice, it was close to some lovely walks on the beach and in nature parks. We liked our hot tub but it was just a tad too hot and it wouldn’t cool down with the controls, we even left the top open and it stayed at 40 degrees, we couldn’t stay in for very long. The shower was either boiling or freezing but we still enjoyed and can’t wait to go back some day :)"

"I will start with a positive! Staff friendly and accommodating. That is the only positive I have to say about this hotel. Rooms leave a lot to be desired, very run down and would benefit from a good clean. We moved rooms 3 times before we made the decision to stay - wish I had stuck with my gut and left straight away. Restaurant and bar area needs a good clean just as much as rooms. I can safely say I won’t be back and certainly would not recommend this place. "
