Escape to the Kentucky Rockies in this newly built tiny cabin near the Red River Gorge area. `Throw`n Shade at the Red’ comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests, boasts perfect seclusion and sits within 30 minutes of Natural Bridge State Park. You can find yourself relaxing on the beautiful deck while taking in all that nature has to offer or enjoying a cozy fire after a strenuous day of adventuring. This cabin is exactly what your small group getaway needs when searching for an affordable getaway.

- Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen (standard coffee pot, microwave, 2 burner electric cooktop), WiFi, washer/dryer, charcoal grill, fire pit, RokuTV, a sizable deck w/ outdoor furniture, and more!
- Sleeping Arrangements: Bedroom 1 - Queen Bed | Bedroom 2 - Queen Bed | Living Room - 2 Single Sleeper Sofas

- We provide fresh linens and towels. We also include essential starter packs to make your stay easier! (Starter packs include: 2 rolls of toilet paper, 2 rolls of paper towels, 3 shampoos and conditioners, 3 bar soaps, 3 laundry pods, 3 trash bags, and 1 sponge.) You will also need to bring your own firewood and charcoal for the grill. Please purchase firewood locally.
- Please note that a 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended as this cabin sits atop a gravel hill. Property is gated. Trailers prohibited.
- Quiet location! 30 - 45 minute drive to zip lines, horseback riding, rock climbing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, shopping, restaurants, and much more.

- No refunds are permitted due to weather. No exceptions. Winter weather (snow/ice) and flooding can occur in our area. You should be given the option to add Trip Insurance at booking check-out.
- Please be aware that no refunds are permitted for cancellations on holiday rates, which includes but is not limited to, New Year’s, Valentine`s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Everything was nice and pretty clean. The cabin was smaller than I realized but thankfully it was just me and my wife. Though there is another bedroom it would be very cramped with two more adults. There is no table to eat at and the bar area has two chairs at it instead of stools so you are sitting too low to use the bar unless you are very tall. We are not. There are two oversized sofa chairs which are just large enough to sit beside your partner if you are slim. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels and dishes which is pretty rare these days. The hot tub was nice but the filter was loose and the water was a little dirty. My biggest complaint is the driveway. Thankfully we had four wheel drive, but even so it would be very easy to get stuck or damage your vehicle with the holes, stumps, and deep rut in it. Over all it was fairly nice and the host was always quick to respond.

I tried to take a picture of driveway to alert others of how terrible and huge ruts are there to bottom out. We had to carry all of our stuff up to the cabin up the steep driveway. It was terrible. Coffee pot was not clean, we had to deep clean it to use it comfortably. The two seats for furniture in living room where tv is are completely stained and scary to sit on without throwing a blanket over them first. The shower has standing water in it while showering, doesn't drain good whatsoever. Little bugs flying around inside of cabin that get into your food and fly around your head constantly. Moldy mattress directly on floor of room with laundry in it. Tried to get in touch with someone and nothing back.

I was looking for a secluded cabin with a hot tub. This checked both those boxes. It’s down a low traffic country road. As the other reviews mention the driveway is terrible, you have to have a 4WD SUV. Very deep ruts and steep. I wouldn’t try this in the winter. The outlet under the tv did not work. One of the beds isn’t very comfortable and the frame is very squeaky. There are very nice blackout shades in each bedroom.

Cute little cabin

Nice property! Lots of reviews on the driveway, but our little Chevy Cruz did not have too much trouble coming up the driveway! You just need to know how to drive up a steep short driveway! My husband knows how to do that! Lol ! Loved the hot tub! The fire pit looked fun, but we didn’t get around to useing it! When we first got there I went barefooted to put things away and my feet got really dirty from the floor! We had to hand mop the floor and that fixed the problem! The rest of the cabin was clean and we enjoyed the 3 nights we stayed there! Not enough room to put your suitcases full of clothes in one bedroom, but it was only two of us so we used the bed in the other room to but our suitcases on! Cute little cabin !

Hot tub fun!

The overall stay was amazing! Property was clean and well kept. Hot tub was amazing and clean, as well. The check in process was great, and AC unit is just fantastic!The driveway is definitely a battle and very scary to tackle each time you’re going up and down. So rough it actually popped my friends tire! The only other thing of concern I want to note is that both nights we stayed, there was a truck that was watching us the whole time during the night. He was in direct view of us 6 girls in the hot tub, and just stayed parked in the field across from the cabin, watching us. Even stepped out of his truck to smoke a cigarette, just eyeing us down. He came back both nights! Maybe we’ve seen too many scary movies, but it was really freaky. So much so that we called the cops. So, be on the lookout for that. Otherwise, beautiful property and lots of fun memories made.

Watch out for the driveway, bring tick repellent

We loved the cabin, the area is beautiful and serene. 4 adult women stayed here and let me tell you, don’t come if you don’t have 4x4, I can’t even believe they rent a place with such a driveway!! Also, we saw multiple ticks (on us) so bring bug spray and plan on using it! The place is cute but the fold outs are uncomfortable and some sheets to cover them would have been appreciated. Very minimal kitchen but it was doable.

Super location for red river gorge

Great smaller cabin

Loved the seclusion of the cabin. I would advise 4WD for the driveway, my van made it. It was clean which is a must. It was comfortable and cozy, would recommend to small groups and family!!!Thanks for the Great stay!

Getaway for family

My family had a pleasant time at Throw'n Shade. It was a quick trip to get outdoors at the Gorge, grab some pizza, then a evening at the cabin. The location is beautiful, nice view of a valley in the spring with no close neighbors. Just enough for what we were looking for.

Nice small cabin. Bad driveway especially when wet!

The cabin was overall a nice place to stay. I would not recommend over 4 people. There isn't alot of room for anything. It was clean. The worst part of this stay was the driveway. Instead of saying "4-wheel drive recommended" it should say "4WD required." The driveway in the picture looks nothing like it does in person. Its not so much steep as it is rutted out. It took 3 tries the first night to get up there. Should update the pics to show how the driveway actually is.

Cozy getaway
