"A nice family stay, quiet village pub. The host was very helpful including recommending an evening meal in the next village which was great (fighting cocks pub). It seems the venue has stopped doing food, but having said that she still provided us with a perfectly good breakfast. The room was clean, a nice little street village view, we all slept well. Great for country walking, a family visit and somewhere quieter in a local pub."

"My friend and I had a lovely stay here last night. We arrived in the afternoon and were warmly welcomed by Karen. We were really well looked after by Karen and her team and nothing was too much trouble. Our twin room was lovely and the beds really comfortable with lovely touches in the bathroom in case we had forgotten anything. Our food in the restaurant was delicious … the best steak I have had in a while and my friend said her burger was amazing. A real gem of a place at Rutland and we will...

"Looking for a good place to stay for our annual meet up with friends, we needed somewhere which was halfway between our homes in Essex and Lancashire and we came across the Bull Inn. So glad that we did. Having read the lovely reviews left by others (note: please ignore the earlier negative ones as they should be attributed to a previous ownership) we had no hesitation in making our booking. "Nice enough staff. The pub looked like a 1970’s Benidorm recreation of a British pub with a ceiling full of beer mats. Food was ok but a little overpriced for pub grub. The outside area was filthy. The doors to the outbuildings that house the rooms were ramshackle. The rooms themselves looked like they were last decorated about 30 years ago. The TV was a 20 year old mini tv with free view that didn’t hold the signal. Neither tv or kettle had a PAT testing sticker. The bathroom was grubby...

"We stayed for a night for my birthday and my father in laws birthday and we spent the afternoon in front of the fire which was so cosy and relaxing. We then had dinner and had the famous ribs…we were all blown away by the quantity and quality of meat. The staff were incredibly friendly! The room we stayed in was huge and comfortable. "Have stayed a few times over the years, the room was nice, but could do with a make over, and the shower needs something doing with it, it isn't a walk in shower, more like a climb in. Food in the restaurant was delicious, even though there wasn't a big choice, it was all delicious, the chef even made fresh apple sauce for one of the party. Hopefully next time we stay, we will see a difference min the room "

"The Garden Room was everything you could want for a quiet weekend away. There was everything there you could possibly want, all needs were catered for . . . and more. The host was exceptional in all communications and everything in the property was explained thoroughly. The facilities were fantastic. We will definitely be returning! 10/10"
