"The bar was well stocked great pub atmosphere. Our twin room was lovely and spacious. Beds were comfy. Host were friendly left us in peace. The back door was easy quick exit for leaving. There is room for improvement on the corridor to the stairs of our room. Overall would happily stay again. Did not try the food."

"A lovely stay in a beautiful part of the world. We stayed in one of the accessible rooms, so can’t comment on the other accommodation, but our room was clean, if a little dated. The real positives were the staff, genuinely lovely and welcoming – along with excellent food and a great selection of local beers on tap. "Quirky place to stay! Lovely big room for our family of four, in peaceful surroundings next to a ruined castle and 10 minutes from Hadrians Wall! Friendly staff and nice home cooked food for dinner and breakfast!"

"Staff and food excellent. Booked a Superior Double room at £172, unfortunately we got a family room with a single bed and what looked like a Queen bed. Black mould on the bathroom ceiling and a light hanging out, bare wires above the bedroom mirror, heating was not on and we came back to a cold room, had to get the staff to sort the heating out, and although there is tea and coffee in the room with a kettle, there was no milk provided and so we could not make a cuppa in the morning."
