We are sorry that your experience was not to your expectations. Let me assure you we do not put profits over safety. As you were informed, this property books up close to 100% over the summer months and we rely on the income from these summer bookings to be able to continue to offer this quality home to others to experience due to its significant expense. When a guest who books 15 days chooses to leave 8 days early, we are unable to rebook the space last minute due to the location and timing. You left the residence immediately after the 4th of July, leaving an 8 day gap in a month that was fully booked. We were also unable to verify your account of the drone incident. This property has been on VRBO for years by us and the prior owners always receiving 5 star reviews and never had such a situation occur. We checked with VRBO and we’re informed that the complaint did not qualify for any refund and it would be solely up to us to provide any refund should we choose to. Despite having no obligation to do so, we voluntarily refunded 50% of the monies for the days we were unable to rent the place out. The house is secure with an alarm system. It’s in a very safe neighborhood. We cannot control if some random person using a drone attempts to fly over the property, nor were we able to verify it. Regardless, as a courtesy to you, we refunded a significant sum of money which apparently did not appease you. We do take issue with the significant misrepresentations about our connection to the property and our importance for guest safety and experience. We strive hard to satisfy and provide the best experience for all our guests, and have done so for all of our guests to date. Nearly every reviews by others speak volumes to that. Most people are extremely grateful for us even offering such a beautiful property. You yourself complimented the property to us over the phone and also mentioned that you were able to see whales swimming in the ocean through nearly every view window. We hope you will reconsider your review but do not expect that you will change your opinion. We believed that we acted fairly considering the situation, the history of the property, and our discussions. We are sorry you feel that we did not do enough for you, but we truly believe we did more than was required of us to satisfy you. We hope your future experiences elsewhere will meet or exceed your expectations.
