Or cozy up inside to the flickering flames and warmth from the indoor gas fireplace on the oversized down-filled couch and leather recliners. Enjoy being inside, outside, or both! Guests have access to the entire house, patios, and garden areas, including these outdoor amenities: hot water shower, fire table, gas barbecue, and clothesline. Also, the native garden and fountain is intended to attract many visiting local and migratory birds. Children are welcome to stay, but please do not allow them outside unsupervised. The fountain and water saucers are especially attractive to children who love throwing stones into them, and they are easily broken. Location Property is only half a mile from expansive state beaches with easy access from Highway One and the California Coastal Trail, and only 1.5 miles north of quaint, tree-lined downtown Main Street in Half Moon Bay, home of the famous Pumpkin Festival in October. Pillar Point Harbor is just three miles to the north, where you can buy fresh fish directly from boats. Hike the rugged Montara Mountain trails for spectacular ocean views (15 minutes north) or the secluded redwood forest and creek trails at Purisima Creek Open Space Preserve (15 minutes south). Drive along the incredibly scenic cliffs along Highway One to San Francisco or south to Santa Cruz, or along Highway 92 east to Silicon Valley, all within an hour's drive. Neighborhood There is ample parking on level street in front of house; the driveway is for the owner's use only. The neighborhood, known as Seahaven, is quiet and the residents are friendly. Many work from home, or are raising families and are present during the day. Nights in Seahaven are very quiet by 8 pm. Many residents walk themselves or their dogs around the sidewalks, or cross Highway One to access the Coastal Trail one-half mile away. This trail extends north and south for nearly five miles along the coastal bluffs from Pillar Point Harbor to the north to Wavecrest Open Space to the south. San Francisco is about a 40-minute drive north along the Coast Highway (Highway One). It's a quiet neighborhood with lots of kids, so drive slow and quiet time is at 9pm. An ice cream truck cruises through the neighborhood on some afternoons if you're lucky. TV Commandeer a super sharp, Samsung 60" 4K TV with all your favorite streaming services through Apple TV (free Netflix on my account, HBO, Prime, Hulu, etc on yours). TV is located in the living room and has a swivel mount for viewing from kitchen and dining areas. There are no TVs in the bedrooms; however, WiFi is available throughout the house for streaming on your own device. Washer/Dryer Combination washer/dryer is inside the house. Outdoor clothesline and indoor expandable drying rack are also available for use. Host Host is on-site, but practically invisible to guests unless needed. She is available to answer questions and helps you get settled if needed, but uses separate, out-of-sight private entrance to garage apartment. Guests may never see host unless she is in the yard tending the garden, or they have a question. There is also a backup host that can be available to guests when the host is gone. Transportation Transportation is primarily by passenger vehicle or bicycle along the Coastal Trail. There is no public transportation by train in the immediate vicinity; however, SamTrans Route 18 bus line runs north-south on Highway 1 and there is a stop 0.2 miles (5 min walk) from the house. (Website hidden by Airbnb) Lyft and Uber drivers are available but it is recommended that guests book rides in advance.
