Janet & Scott are your hosts. We are a husband and wife team and we live nearby. We own and operate Mission Beach Villas, a highly rated vacation rental management business in San Diego.
We are available 7 am to 10 pm to answer questions during your stay.
Our storefront rental office, Mission Beach Villas, is located down Mission Blvd only a mile away, so if you need anything feel free to stop by! If you have an early flight, you may stow your luggage at our office so you can go to lunch or hang out on the beach until check-in time. And if you have an afternoon flight on checkout day you may also stow luggage. Just coordinate these details with us and we are happy to accommodate.
Before your stay, we are happy to suggest our favorite restaurants, and tourist attractions and will help you get acquainted with the area.
The best thing about the neighborhood is that there is so much within walking distance that you may not need a car. Plus Starbucks is right in your backyard. (Literally 50 feet away!)
You could just take an Uber/Lyft from the airport (5 miles away), get dropped off here and you're at the beach! We have local restaurants, trendy beach bars, excellent coffee spots, and cafes all within a few short blocks. Sea World is just 2 miles away.
Recreational opportunities abound. There are several shops within walking distance that book excursions, or rent beach equipment including: stand up paddle boards, kayaks, jet skis, windsurfing, catamarans, sail boats, water ski boats, and even jet packs. Additionally we can hook you up with surf lessons, either group classes or private lessons. What's more there are free yoga classes each day on the beach. Just let us know what you're looking for.
We offer self-check in via digital entry. You will have private access to the unit so you may come and go as you please. There are no keys to lose, just a simple 4 digit passcode to remember.
If your family likes action, this location is the best spot of all of Mission Beach. It is right in the middle of the giant roller coaster area and a block from the main lifeguard tower.
It is positioned in the ♡ of Mission Beach, a gorgeous beach community on a super narrow strip of land between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay. Walk in either direction (West or East) and you'll encounter pristine white beaches. Both sides have wide boardwalks for bicycle riding or walking. On the bay-side you'll enjoy a relaxing sail bay with a calm atmosphere, while on the ocean-side you'll enjoy ocean waves for surfing and a lively beach scene. Either way, you'll call it paradise. We simply call it home!
This fun vacation rental is a ground floor apartment. You have your own separate entry. The space is 624 square feet.
The vacation rental features two bedrooms, one bathroom, cozy living room, and a fully supplied kitchen. There are queen size beds in each bedroom.
The kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and a Keurig coffee maker. We supply you with all the cooking pans, dishes, and utensils you might need. There are the usual kitchen gadgets such as bottle openers and cork screws.
The living room comes complete with a flat screen television. It is equipped with Internet TV with Roku, which includes live local TV and Netflix. Amazon Prime Video, Hulu and many other channels are available with your own login credentials. What's more, there is free WIFI and plenty of outlets to keep you plugged in.
This vacation rental comes supplied with all the basics you'd expect at any hotel like a hair dryer and iron. Plus you have a kitchen and living room to enjoy. We think of everything you might need and even stock you with beach towels so you don't need to pack those in your suitcase. For an additional fee of just $50 per week for your group (you and your registered guests) will enjoy UNLIMITED access to all the beach equipment named above, including bikes for cruising down the boardwalk. YES, you read that right! Normally you would pay that to rent a couple of bikes for an hour or two. This will give you unlimited access during your stay. You will pick up the equipment in person at one of 3 local beach shops. The closest is at Belmont Park, just a couple of minutes walk from your unit. We have a special arrangement with this shop and you will be able to check out unlimited equipment each day with our special certificate we will offer you. (Each adult will be required to sign liability waivers and present ID /credit card for security hold at the time of receiving the equipment.)

If you don't bring a car you will be fine. More than half of our guests have come without a car and all have gotten around quite easily. Restaurants, shops, and convenience stores are within walking distance.
It is less than a 10-15 minute walk to Belmont Park where there is a giant roller coaster, rides, restaurants, bars, and shops.
Uber cars are readily available for local transport at an affordable rate.
Riding bikes along the boardwalk is usually the most scenic way to get around and take in the atmosphere. Beach cruiser bicycles are available for rent by the hour, day, or the week. They also rent surfboards, wetsuits, standup paddle boards and a lot of other fun beach equipment.
There is also a bus stop that will take you to Old Town in minutes. At Old Town there is a major transportation hub where you can transfer to any other bus line or transfer to the Trolley (San Diego's metro line) which will take you downtown.
Due to insurance reasons, the person booking must be at least 25 years old to book and must upload a photo of government ID to the host within 24 hours of booking.
Please note that we have occupancy based pricing in our settings. Please select the correct number of people in your group at the time of booking to get the correct pricing for your stay. Keep in mind, if you add more people to your group after booking the rate may adjust slightly. There is an additional charge of $20 per night for each additional person after the initial 2 people. This keeps our rates low and affordable for our average group size for this listing and helps us charge an appropriate fee for the additional linens and utilities used by a larger group size. This property offers parking for one vehicle in the garage. It is a small single car garage that will fit a compact vehicle. SUV's will not fit and will need to park on the street or in a public parking lot. So if you're flying in and renting a car be sure to reserve a compact or even a sub-compact vehicle if you wish to fit in the garage.
Once you get here there is no need for a car so it's also ideal for people arriving via Uber/Lyft. The beach is just across the street and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
This unit is on the ground floor of a 3 unit apartment complex. You have your own private entrance. There are double paned windows so with the windows shut and the AC running it can be pretty quiet. (However, if you're extremely sensitive to noise or are a very light sleeper this property might not be the right fit.)
A portable AC unit is supplied in each bedroom for comfortable sleeping.
Beach gear includes beach towels, bodyboards, and beach chairs. For anything else you need for the beach, there is a rental shop just a 2 minute walk away that rents beach cruiser bikes, surfboards, stand up paddle boards, kayaks, etc.
We can hook you up with a private bonfire on the beach. Includes set up and take down, portable steel fire drum, roasting sticks, hot dogs, and s'mores. A perfect activity while waiting for the nightly summer Sea World fireworks over the bay. Inquire for details.
Are you into yoga? There is free beach yoga daily just a 15 minute walk from the property. No yoga mats are required. Just bring beach towels and water and you are all set. (It's donation based so maybe bring some cash for the instructor. )
The vacation rental is thoroughly cleaned between each stay. However if you wish for a cleaning and change of linens during your stay we can arrange for the housekeeper to come for an additional charge of the standard cleaning fee. Please give us one day's notice so we can get this scheduled with the housekeeper.
