Welcome to Light and Airy Penthouse on the Bay, we hope to host you for your visit to San Diego! Please read through our detailed description below to learn more about the property and booking terms.

A penthouse condo with 3rd floor views overlooking beautiful Mission Bay! You will really feel like you’re on vacation when you walk into this bright and sunny unit, with floor to ceiling windows it feels like you’re flying above the bay. The amenities are endless, including pecan hardwood floors, an A/C unit that keeps you cool during the summer, and a large extended deck with over-sized seating area overlooking the bay.

You`ll find your stay a little bit quieter and more relaxed and family oriented in this unit. The location is perfect for the true `Southern California Experience`, a short walk to shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants. Walk from the bay to the beach in under 5 minutes to surf, boogie board, people watch or catch a beautiful sunset.

The layout makes it great for families and friends to share. You enter this unit on the 2nd floor of this 3 story building, expect 2 flights of stairs. The entry floor holds a foyer and a private king bedroom with a full bath. Walk upstairs to the 3rd floor and look out in amazement at the gorgeous view. This level hosts the open living room, kitchen, dining room and large open balcony overlooking the bay. Down the hall are the master suite and guest room. The master bedroom suite features a king bed, large soaking tub and separate shower, a double sink and walk in closet. The master bedroom closet also has two twin XL cots that can be rolled to wherever you would like. The guest bedroom has a queen bed, bay windows with views of the bay and its own full bath.

The kitchen is stocked for meal preparation, dining and entertaining. The living room and all bedrooms are equipped with a smart TV and cable. The beds are soft and cozy and the sofa, while it doesn`t have a pull out, is large enough to accommodate a sleeping teenager.

The garage can fit 2 cars and has a washer and dryer, stand up paddle board, boogie boards and beach chairs. On the outside stairwell you’ll find an outdoor shower perfect for rinsing off after a surf, swim or playtime on the beach!

THE LOCATION:
Mission Beach is a laid-back neighborhood whose 2 miles of sandy shores attract surfers, sunbathers and volleyball players. Locals and visitors alike enjoy the paved walking and biking paths that curl around Mission Bay, a popular spot for water sports and family beach days. Casual cafes and eateries line Mission Boulevard, the single road that runs between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay. Nearby Belmont Park has tons of dining and entertainment options for all ages in addition to the world-famous Mission Beach boardwalk and Giant Dipper Roller Coaster! Just blocks away from the ocean and bay, you’ll experience the best of the beach!

Be sure to check out all San Diego has to offer! You will find yourself centrally located in America’s Finest City with convenient access to the county`s most excellent attractions including the world famous San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Balboa Park, Seaport Village and Harbor, prestigious La Jolla, historic Gaslamp Quarter and much more. There are endless opportunities for fun and entertainment!

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
Construction Notice: As of June 2025, the south side neighbors are doing an active remodel.

This property has a two standard car garage, so feel free to bring your own vehicles! But restaurants, bars and the beach are all walking distance and the Airport is only a 15 minute drive away. Uber, Lyft, Taxis and the local bus system are readily available for your convenience, as well as bike rental shops up and down popular Mission Blvd.

Garage Dimensions: 6`7` high/15`4` wide/16`deep

Pack n play provided. Pack n Play linens and bedding are not provided, please bring your own!

BOOKING TERMS:
Per the cancellation policy, eligible cancellations may receive a full refund less credit card processing fees. These non-refundable fees are charged by the payment processor at the time of booking and typically range from 3.9% to 4.7% of the total transaction amount. There is no grace period for Credit Card fees. Once booked credit card fees apply and can not be refunded.

Good Neighbor Policy: This home is surrounded by OWNER OCCUPIED homes. While we understand the Primary Renter and guests are on vacation, the home owners are not. Therefore, we respectfully request Primary Renter and Guests display behavior that is becoming of a typical neighborhood environment. Home owners across San Diego are banning together to eliminate the rentals of private homes as vacation homes. Please help us preserve our right to rent by being respectful neighbors.

NOISE/NO PARTIES: Quiet hours are strictly enforced, 10 pm – 8 am per city ordinance. This property has ZERO TOLERANCE for noise, parties or loud music which includes any excessive daytime noise, cursing, yelling or screaming. Fines will be applied for complaints. Drinking games of any kind ie: beer die, pong, funnels etc. and music that is audible past the property line are strictly prohibited. Immediate eviction can result if these rules are broken.

San Diego Municipal Code 59.5.0502 states that at all times; any amplified sound that can be heard 50 feet away from the rented residence is prohibited. Between 10 PM and 8 AM, even normal conversation must be moved inside the rented residence. Per SDMC 51.1004 and California Penal Code 415.2 noise violations can result in fines (Up to $1,000) for property owners and Renters if there are repeated calls for noise violations to one address. Renters will be liable for any and ALL noise violation fines charged to the property owner. Excessive Noise disruptions can result in immediate eviction without the right to a refund of rental fees or security deposits.

Drugs/ Alcohol: Use of illegal/illicit drugs by any Renter, Guest, Occupant or Visitor in or on the grounds is strictly prohibited. Consumption of alcoholic beverages by a minor under 21 years of age is strictly prohibited.

No Smoking of ANY kind: This is a non-smoking property, both in and on the property. A fee of $1,000.00 will be charged for violation of this rule, plus any costs incurred to remove smoke odor or damage. Smoking includes but is not limited to: cigarette, cigar, marajuana, cocaine, incense, or vaping. While Marajuana is legal in the state of California it is NOT allowed on this property.

Properties are subject to exterior patrol by our staff and homeowner. If Renters are causing a nuisance, having a party, acting detrimentally toward the property, breaking the noise curfew or any stated rules and regulations we reserve the right to terminate the rental agreement, without refund, and immediately remove Renters and guests from the property. Absolutely no disturbances are allowed within this home or anywhere on the property premises. We also reserve the right to refuse occupancy if a house party is suspected.

Our neighbors are very, very sensitive to vacation rentals as it affects their right to live in a peaceful environment therefore we will enforce these policies in exchange for the privilege of renting this home as a vacation rental. The City of San Diego has adopted stricter guidelines for vacation properties and bad operators will not be allowed to rent their homes. If the actions of the Renter and their guests are detrimental to our right to rent as a vacation rental we reserve the right to evict and retain any rental fees and/or security deposits and will report abuse to the rental platforms and will take legal action against Renter if their behavior results in loss of permits.

Guest Occupancy:
Occupancy: The maximum occupancy for this Rental Agreement shall not exceed the number stated on the reservation. Only primary Renter and guests accounted for on the reservation are allowed to be on the property.

Age Restrictions: Primary Renter must be 25 years or older. Guests must be 25 years or older. Parents and children excluded.

No Subletting: If Renter can not keep the reservation please alert us as soon as possible so we can assist in re-renting the unit. If the unit is not re-rented and at the rate of the current reservation Renter will not be refunded their rental fees.

If excessive cleaning is needed, Renter will be charged $100/hour, or actual charges, whichever is greater. If area carpets are excessively dirty after check out Renter will be charged a $300 fee for carpet cleaning or full replacement value PLUS any loss in rental income at $500/night.

NO DAILY MAID SERVICE: Daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. The cleaning fee referenced above shall be applied to the cleaning service after check out. If daily maid service is desired it can be arranged for an additional daily fee.

Missing or damaged items will be charged at full replacement cost. Guest is responsible for all damages.

Kitchen: Cooking at high temperatures can result in strong smells that permeates throughout the home and into the fabrics of the home. Excessive odors can come from, but not limited to, popcorn, fish, certain spices etc. Please open windows, use kitchen fans, and be mindful that this is a shared living space. Should a strong odor be detected upon check out, an air purifying fee will be applied.

The penthouse was comfortable and wellFurnished and had too many amenities tolist. The location was ideal and the outdoor patio and views were particularly great. The host was very punctual in answering any questions we had. I look forward to staying there again next year.

Such a great little getaway spot!

We stayed here for a family wedding and it did not disappoint! We had pleanty of space, a great view of the water from the patio, convenient parking and a great location allowing us to walk places. While it didnt occur to us prior, there was had a pack and play, a high chair and baby gates to help make our stay more comfortable for our 1.5 year old. There were also water toys and beach toys/chairs in the garage that also helped make our trip more fun! We each had our own room and bathroom which allowed us to enjoy our vacation without all having to be on the same sleeping schedule. We had a wonderful time and loved our stay!

Great Stay

The apartment was just as advertised. The view was beautiful. It was close to many attractions. The beds were clean and comfy. I loved that there were so many towels available, soap, shampoo, and body wash. There were also lots of quality beach chairs, and the kitchen was well-equipped. Communication with the property manager was excellent.

Great Place

This place is exactly what you see in the photos. It is spacious and very nice. It has all the amenities that you would want, and a short 8 min walk to some great coffee. Parking in the garage can be a bit challenging if you have a larger vehicle but overall, it is doable...just go slow. The house is so comfortable, and the view is fantastic! Cindy is very quick to respond as well. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving ‘24

La Jolla is my home town so I come here often. I picked this house bc I knew the bay side was quiet and offers great views. Centrally located, easy access to La Jolla, PB, MB, Point Loma. Was able to get morning walks in around the bay - super convenient. House was ultra confortable and every bedroom has its own bathroom- a huge plus! Would stay here again. Another wonderful Thanksgiving is in the books.

Enjoyable weekend on Mission Bay

Very clean place with beautiful upstairs patio that has bay views. Super nice 2 car garage (parking around Mission Bay is horrible). Only downside is there are lots of stairs, we have 3 young Grandkids. We will stay there again!

The Best Beach Vacation!

This beach house is amazing! We will absolutely stay here again! We have stayed in multiple beach houses around this area and this by far was our favorite. The house was immaculate inside and out, and had plenty of everything. You can literally come with your clothes and toiletries and don’t need anything else. Also the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, very easy to communicate with throughout the booking process and our stay.

Perfect Location

The photos made the rental appear more updated. When we checked in, in the height of summer, the heater was on and the temp inside the home was 84 degrees. The glass doors to balcony did not seal, with large gaps, and made it difficult to keep insects and heat out. The internet did not work well in downstairs unit, nor did the AC which was absolutely freezing in the main bed/bath. The location was perfect and the night views are pretty spectacular. Would not stay again, but enjoyed our vacation none the less. Property Manager was very nice.

Our family loved the week stay at this property! The home was a perfect set up for two couples and children with three en suite rooms. Being right on the bay was perfect and next to the street directly to beach access was extremely convenient. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the property. The house was clean, spacious and comfortable. Being bay front and so close to the beach was perfect for our family. We were only a steps away from a number of good restaurants and coffee spots which was convenient. We will definitely stay again.

Wonderful property

This is a fantastic condo with an amazing view - as advertised. The kitchen was well appointed with glassware, cookware and plates. The unit was spotless, and the outdoor furniture very clean. Very cute "beachy" artwork and home accessories are found throughout the living spaces. We were amazed how quiet and peaceful this location was! Such a nice spot to sit on the deck and soak in the spectacular view of Mission Bay. One suggestion would be to install hooks in the bathrooms for travelers to hang their toiletries bags as the counterspace is limited. Overall a fantastic stay!

Fantastic place

Great Location! Soak up the sunshine.

Great location overlooking the bay. The bay is outside the door. The ocean and beach walk is also very very close. This may be the best location to access the bay and the ocean. Easy walk to convenient store, restaurants, Belmont Park, etc. We walked to The Mission restaurant. Fantastic brunch!! So much California sunshine comes through the glass door wall, it is perfection. Open the doors to a nice breeze. I could stay here forever. Listing photos and description were accurate. Management communication was ok. They send automated messages but were non responsive otherwise.
