This house is old & nothing is updated. There were multiple safety issues that concerned me with the house. 1st safety issue was the handrail for the stairs that was not attached to the wall. 2nd safety issue was the stove & oven which sparked the entire time the range was lite & the oven couldn’t even be turned on, combo seemed to be from the 1960’s era & seemed completely unsafe. 3rd safety issue was the half bath doorknob that completely came off while my 81 year old mom was locked inside without a way to get out. 4th potential safety issue was the “Emergency Exit” in the primary bedroom, it had two screws that would have to be unscrewed with wing nuts in the actual event of an emergency, which is scary. The house had a beautiful view, but that is about it. The decorating, wallpaper, rugs & furniture are a hodgepodge of items that seem to be from thrift stores. The inside front door knob was covered with duct tape. The TV was impossible to figure out & did not have any ability to stream. Vacasa Property management staff was AMAZING! Ana was quickly responsive, got a handyman to come fix many of the issues and even brought over her personal smart TV for us to use while we were there. This house could be better with upgrades & a little care.

You are paying for the view... that is it.Home is old and not well maintained. First day we were at the property we noticed and reported that one room was severely water damaged. We reported it to the management company and they advised that it was KNOWN DAMAGE. On top of that the wall paper is old and stained. Property smelled stale and of mildew in the bedrooms. There is no dishwasher, no washer and dryer, and parking was a fight everyday even though there is a garage since the homeowners use it as personal storage. Lastly, property is advertised with wifi, it would go out regularly even when we attempted to restart the modem. Would not stay at this property unless homeowners make serious repairs or investments into the property.

Don't do it!!

The pictures look good, but the property is old. The doors were locked, so you had no access to the backyard. The listing said it had laundry and internet and gave the impression that there was on-site parking for two. The reality was that there was no laundry, no on-site parking, and the internet did not work. We had booked for three weeks, and with no laundry capabilities, I asked the host to refund our stay and I would find another property. They refused. I called Amex and asked for the charges to be reversed. After a few weeks, the host did not challenge Amex, and I got my money back, but not until we had to find another home and take that risk. What I learned from this is thank you, American Express!

Girls get away

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay..the beautiful sunrise and sunset, the national anthem from the surrounding military base at 8:00 each morning and watching the harbor in action-it was so much fun! San Diego is a great city to visit…so much to do! We went to a local grocery store for some items and felt truly appreciated by the staff!Thanks for sharing your beautiful piece o heavwn

Family Soccer Fun

Charming, spacious but very dated home with a spectacular view. There was no off street parking for even 1 vehicle, let alone 2. We had to search for street parking many times. Very stuffy unless the few windows that could open were opened. No counter space in kitchen - counters occupied by microwave, toaster and coffee pot. Freezer had icicles; afraid to use 1970s stove. No dishwasher or even a dishrag to wash dishes. Dish towels were very sad and old. Not enough washcloths; plenty of towels. Strong stinky smell in kitchen like dirty pipes - both plumbing and electrical need uodating - electrical is probably not to current code. Despite the critic we enjoyed our stay in this very old home. It would probably rent for double the price if updated but charm was kept.

Not what I expected - pics are decieving

The home is in a great location and the views are amazing. However the pics are deceiving. This is a very old home that needs some updating. There is no light in one of the showers and it is very dark. The bathroom lighting is not good in any of them. All of the bedrooms are downstairs and the beds were very comfortable. The carpets need cleaning and there was some sort of odor that we couldn’t put our fingers on. A few little extra touches could make this a great rental/home; for example the soaps and shampoos were powder. A hand soap for the bathroom sinks would be great so you could actually wash your hands. Access to extra towels/wash cloths. We were not able to access the quaint backyard that looked amazing as it was all locked up. We stayed here because of location, but I wouldn’t stay again due to the odor and age of the home. I’m not sure how safe it is because if it’s age. Wiring maybe a problem as one of the outlets was quite hot. I wasn’t sure the balcony would hold everyone as it was quite shaky with just 4 adults on it.

Perfect location!

A delightfully charming and comfortable home. Great neighborhood, and the owners treated us to a bag of oranges picked from their tree that morning. Would recommend! Plenty of room for a family vacation. Kitchen was well equipped.

Spring Break trip

Went to celebrate a few friends birthdays. Def got an older vibe to it but it’s very cute and the patio is great. View is beautiful, makes it very worth it.

Old unique house with amazing view

The location was perfect for us since we were mostly staying around downtown, Coronado and the beaches. There is an amazing view of the bay including a beautiful sunrise each morning. Lots of room and Multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. The house is unique with lots of character and potential. The dining room chairs are not very comfortable. Property information said there is no heat so we brought space heaters but never had to use them since it felt warm inside. There is no dishwasher. The windows do not open so there is limited airflow downstairs in the bedrooms. Parking is a little misleading. You could probably fit 2 really small cars on the street in front of the house. We have a truck and were lucky to get the one spot in front of the house. When we arrived to checkin we had to park in front of the garage. The Kitchen doesn’t have a lot of counter space if planning on cooking. The stove is really old.

No A/C?

While the temperature was mostly fine - low 80’s no A/C and no ceiling fans would have been a real breaker had I noticed ahead of time. It did not occur to me in 2023 to have to watch out for that! Unpleasant to sleep at night. I found two fans in a storage room but we had 3 bedrooms. Beautiful view. Very vintage.

Wonderful View and Location

We enjoyed our stay at this property. As many others have stated, the property has not been updated in decades. However, the beds and couch were comfy and the place was clean. The location was great for us...walking distance to a few restaurants, a quick drive to the airport, downtown, Coronado, and La Jolla.

Could be special, but needs attention

This place could be lovely and unique but it needs some thoughtfulness and attention to pretty basic details. We love old houses with character and this place has it - it was clearly loved once and is a step back in time to elegant San Diego. And the view from the first floor windows and porch is stunning especially at sunrise. But there are several things that do not seem so hard to be addressed : to start there is NO washing machine (despite being a 3 bedroom house) apparently it is in the garbage which is locked. The small bedroom is so musty smelling we had to close the door and our daughter slept on our floor. And the bathroom off the big bedroom has an old slanting glass window that does not close so it was freezing - so we had to close the door and could not use it. The kitchen floor is carpeted and feels old and dirty (shoes are recommended) and the kitchen is very minimally equipped, with limited pots and utensils etc. and no basics such as salt and pepper and oil. The basement is white carpeted which is certainly warmer, but things like a cheap acrylic small carpet thrown over a stain - but it tripped us every time we walked on it, was easier to live with the stain ;). While most of the furniture is interesting and comfortable, the king bed frame seems to be a new cheap metal frame which squeaks every time you move at all on the bed. There are not two parking places (unless you want to park on the sidewalk) but there was no problem parking in front on the street. This place worked for us in terms of its location, and there are many charming parts about it, but it certainly needs some attention.
