"Excellent amenities and lovely kept grounds"

"We were allocated a room for a disabled person even though neither of us are disabled or had requested it. However we did appreciate the wet room rather than a bath with shower over. But, and a big but for any traveller, there was nowhere in the bathroom to place toiletries, razors, toothbrushes, deodorant, hairbrushes etc etc. All the things that are needed within reach of the sink. We ended up dragging the chair in the shower to the sink in order to have our toilet bags close without them...

"We love visiting this unique hotel. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The lido is spectacular. Our annexe room is spacious and has a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. The addition of a fridge in the room was very welcome."

"Everything (pool, parking etc) involves extra charges so beware. It was once a magnificent building but badly needs updating. Our room was very institutional and tired and bathroom knackered. And didn't like the fussy signs everywhere telling you what you can and can't do. Pool etc cost extra and was very crowded. No towels provided. Sauna and steam room were tiny."

"Beautiful room, great amenities such as restaurant and bar ( also serves food in the bar area) , pool and hot tub. Including free parking and free full breakfast which was very good. The grounds are well kept with lots of places to relax and enjoy the views. You can also eat and have drinks outside if you want to. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels."

"I highly recommend this hotel. Very friendly and professional staff. Every member of staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. An excellent choice of breakfasts included in the price. The restaurant was excellent in the evenings. The location is fantastic with wonderful views of the beautiful Peak countryside."
