This beautifully decorated cabin is the perfect retreat for couples wanting to reconnect, rekindle and relax. Step back in time in this 1900's cabin with all the modern conveniences of today. Surrounded by natural beauty; don't be surprised to see deer and turkey meandering thru the yard. Outdoors you will find an outdoor fire-pit and hammocks for the perfect place to wind down after a days adventure or a place to remember that first kiss. Cook a romantic dinner on the gas grill, enjoy it on the deck of your choice. Stay inside snuggled up with a good book in front of gas log fireplace. Play a board game, Watch a movie. Enjoy your morning coffee while watching the local wildlife at play from the convenience of a screened in deck. Go fishing in the pond that is located near the beautiful laurels that lead up the mountain. Walk barefoot in the creek. There is a whole mountain of property for you to explore.This is a place where you can disconnect from the world and connect with what matters. We are located in Rocky Gap, a small town in the county of Bland. In Southwestern Virginia on the border of West Virgina, Bland County is strategically positioned on I-77 with the intersection of I-77 and I-81, 13 miles to the south of the county. This area is an explorers paradise with endless adventures of historic and recreational sites. For your convenience, we have brochures of all local activities​ in the cabin welcome book. This area has something for everyone. Enjoy the beauty of each season.​

Perfect Weekend Getaway

We just got home from spending three nights in this lovely cabin. It was just as described in the listing and we loved every inch of the place. It was a quiet, peaceful setting away from it all but still close enough for us to go out and enjoy some of the sights in VA & W. VA. The hosts even left a little welcome gift and that was such a thoughtful touch. The first time I’ve ever experienced that with a VRBO rental. Would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone and would stay there again ourselves.

Awesome place!!

I normally do not write reviews of anything, and have never written one for the many many cabins we have stayed at. The reason I have not is they are all the same. There is rarely anything worth noting about any of them. From the cheapest, to the most expensive.....all the same. However, that is not the case with this place. This place was simply great!!! Awesome property away from the bustle of a town, large enough and wooded enough to not see the neighboring properties. The cabin itself is very nice and homely , very clean, and has a very welcoming feel that makes it feel like you live there....rather than that hotel feel that even a lot of other cabins have. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about any of it...at an unbelievable nightly rate. The pictures on the listing do not do it justice. I had done some sleuthing before I received the address from the host and found it.... I was a bit skeptical looking at maps and satellite photos, but as soon as we hit the end of the driveway, all that skepticism went the way of the birds. Thank you for letting us stay in your cabin.

Amazing, tranquil and beautiful!

When we first stepped into the cabin we couldn't believe how beautiful and spotlessly clean it was. The property is so peaceful. We enjoyed every second of our 3 day stay. We will definitely be back!

Anniversary

We enjoyed our stay very much & will go again, it was a perfect getaway for our 17th wedding anniversary! The cabin was very clean & beautiful. The owner was very helpful and even left a gift box for us! We will definitely recommend this place to our family & friends.

Wonderful retreat

Delightful retreat

I needed to get away from everything and this adorable little cabin was excellent for that. I could lose weeks in that hammock among the trees. Wanda was very responsive and proactive about addressing any issues. Finding the place is a bit tricky; Google will get you to the right street, but is very wrong about when to turn off so I highly recommend listening to Wanda’s thoughtful directions instead.

Perfect Cabin for Anything

I read all the reviews beforehand & they were all spot on. This cabin is just as cute in person as it is in the pictures. We spent the 4 days over Thanksgiving there so I cooked all our meals. I brought a few kitchen items but I forgot a few that thankfully were there. We spent our days riding the trails in WV but I could’ve easily stayed at the cabin all day. Fireplaces, plural...awesome. I agree with some of the other reviews that the only small complaint was the mattress on the bed is extremely firm, a mattress pad might help but we still slept okay. It definitely would not keep me from staying there again! Would highly recommend!

Perfection

This was just the place for us to get away to spend some time focusing on us. The property is beautiful, the cabin is cozy (so cozy you don’t feel bad staying in), and the owner is attentive. She’s wonderful with the details! From providing excellent directions, to having the table set upon arrival, to gorgeous seasonal decor all around the cabin, I could go on and on; it was easy to relax and feel the stress of daily life melt away! The bed was comfortable, the kitchen equipped, and we found ourselves wandering the property discovering little things everywhere we looked. We had a fabulous stay!

Cozy cabin

Wanda left the porch light on for us since we arrived after dark which was very helpful. The cabin was very clean with alot of nice welcoming touches. Every morning we saw several deer in the yard. A nice retreat to get away for some couple time and we would definitely stay here again.

Honeymoon Mountain Getaway

This is the first time we have booked a vacation using Vrbo and we must say, it was a great experience! We were originally planning on going to the Bahamas for our honeymoon, but due to COVID, we were denied international travel. So we decided to look at spending a week near the Harfield McCoy Trails to ride our RZR. However, since it was our honeymoon, we wanted something a bit more romantic and secluded than what is usually available for rent around them. Boy, did this place fit that bill PERFECTLY. This cabin is perfectly quiet. We didn’t see a soul the entire time we were there (minus the wildlife). I will tell you, that there is another house/ cabin that is on the same property and about 50 yards from this cabin that really caught us off guard when we pulled in, we didn’t see it in any of the pictures and were worried that other people would be there during our stay. Luckily, we didn’t see anyone there or around it all week. The cabin itself was incredibly clean and you could tell that the owners took great care in the upkeep, layout, and furnishings. It truly is as great as the pictures show. As others have mentioned, we also really enjoyed the s’mores that were left for us. The grounds are perfectly put together and maintained. The pond was beautiful and the creek that runs through the property was very picturesque when standing on the foot bridge, especially with the changing leaves. The screened in porch was a huge hit for us and we loved sitting in the giant chairs and enjoying the scenery and sounds. We even chose to stay in the first full day to relax and enjoy the cabin. If you plan on cooking your own meals, anything you would need is provided. The grill had an extra propane tank and grilling tools. The kitchen had any pot/ pans and utensils you would need. Wanda was very helpful with her directions to the cabin and seemed very willing to assist if anything was even remotely less than expected. We always appreciate when a review isn’t just all positives and have some faults as well. I must say, it is very, very hard to find one here. The only thing we could come up with as a negative is the master bed isn’t quite as comfortable as you might hope. If your a fan of a very firm mattress, you’ll sleep like a newborn. If not, you’ll understand my point after the first night. We would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone. It is truly just as amazing as it appears in pictures. Perfect for some “us time”.

Amazing!

Our stay was fantastic! The cabin was well appointed and so cozy! Wanda was very responsive and the cabin was even more amazing than it looks online. We cannot say enough great things about this cabin and can't wait to return in the spring. We feel completely refreshed and reenergized.

Relaxing Weekend!

We loved it! Cozy, charming, comfortable and clean. The area offers beautiful scenery or you can relax on screened back porch and take in the peacefulness of the mountains and watch the wildlife.The owners also took the time to provide welcoming tokens that we appreciated and enjoyed.

Anniversary Trip

This cabin was way beyond anything we imagined! We were looking for a place to celebrate our 18th wedding anniversary and this was the absolute perfect place. We loved the rustic feel of the cabin as well as the modern conveniences and little details. It was so beautifully decorated and the owners have definitely gone out of their way to make you feel at home including a binder full of local attraction ideas, all kitchen utensils and grill necessities. There were also shelves of books, board games a and movies provided. We loved the property so much we cancelled our plans to go out and stayed in the entire weekend, even opting for a late check out to squeeze in those last few moments of serenity. Our favorite highlights were the screened in back porch and the patio/grill area below. I loved sitting out with a book and watching the deer and wild turkeys grazing just steps away. We also loved, loved, loved the creek and the fishing pond, which was secluded and we had success in fishing every day (we had the best luck with live bait!). There is a local convenience store right up the road that had essentials and bait as well as a deli. We loved this place so much we are already making plans for our next visit and we appreciate the owner’s vision and mission to help strengthen families by providing such an amazing and romantic retreat! Thank you so much and we will definitely be back as well as recommending to our friends and family!

Magical getaway!

We absolutely loved our stay—we felt like we had been transported by a time machine to an earlier, simpler time (though with all the modern comforts)! Communication with the owner was excellent, and the attention to comfort and detail was impeccable. The cabin was spotless! We were there to visit family, but I found myself wishing we could’ve just stayed on that wonderful back porch with a few good books the whole time. The only thing that could’ve made it better would’ve been a king bed instead of a queen, but we loved it so much that even iwith a queen, we’ll be back!

Just what we needed

2020 has been a difficult year and we needed to celebrate 37 years of marriage. And this cabin was perfect. Clean, quiet and everything we needed. We hung out on the screen porch for hours. It was perfect. We did take a quick trip to Princeton to check out a brewery but other than that we stayed put. And it was perfect. We hated to leave and re-enter the world

Back in Time with all the conveniences!

This was a "spot-on" listing for us. Social-distancing at it's best! We saw no one in our 3 day visit! A short drive for us and we were on private & secluded property with a beautifully restored early 1900's log cabin. We needed time away from all the world's problems, and peace and serenity was what we received. There is lush outdoor scenery, trees, birds, deer in abundance, had a bear-sighting, even a fishing pond with a picnic table and adirondack chairs. The fire pit out front was perfect for roasting marshmallows, and had so much tree canopy that we didn't even get wet with the light rain shower one evening. Inside the cabin were 2 stone fireplaces with gas, which we didn't need, but surely will when we return in the fall or winter. A/C kept us cool as we cooked in the kitchen, which was furnished with an electric stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, all utensils, etc. We used the dual grill for steaks one night, and ate our dinner on the lovely back patio table, just below the equally cozy upper enclosed porch. The bed was comfy , bathroom was amazing with it's old/new fixtures. And we had a great living room to watch some late night tv if desired. The restoration work done on this home was amazing and very well done! I really want to know more about the history of this property in beautiful VA! The owners of this property were gracious, helpful, and had everything ready for our arrival, including snacks and wine in the fridge! (Thank you for that welcome and your texts to us!) We can't wait to come back...very soon!

Best getaway ever!

This cabin was everything we were looking for! Very rural, picturesque, cozy, and comfortable. This was the best vacation we have ever had! The kitchen is amazingly stocked - the best I have ever seen in a vacation rental. Normally, we like to try somewhere new when we vacation, but this place was so perfect we can’t wait to go back. I really can’t say enough about how much we loved this place!!

Great stay!

This was the perfect get away for us! The cabin was secluded, clean, and just the right mix of modern and rustic. We loved to rock on the front porch and chat on the screened back porch. We had daily visits from the deer. The cabin is located with easy access to surrounding cities which made our week of antiquing fantastic!
