Sunnyside Cabin on the Doe River

Escape to beautiful Roan mountain! A wonderful mountain cabin above Roan Mountain State Park. Enjoy the relaxing sounds of the Doe River and beautiful views with a short drive (7 miles) to the Appalachian Trail and Rhododendron Gardens on top of Roan Mountain. Less than 1 mile from Roan Mountain State Park, tennis courts, hiking trails and amphitheater. Fly Fishing, Native brook trout, rainbow trout and brown trout. Fully stocked kitchen with Keurig coffee maker, cookware, oils and spices. The cabin is equipped with excellent WiFi and you may need to be connected to the network with your phone on WiFI calling in order to make and receive calls. We have 1 floodlight security camera to monitor the driveway and front steps and 1 doorbell camera. Dogs allowed, No Cats, on a case by case basis for an additional $20 fee.

Do not go into the neighbors yard. Our property ends at the large Pine Tree and at the survey steak with the Private Property sign by the river.
Fan remotes in their holders on the wall. Any lost fan remote will result in a $50 Fee Per Remote.
Using the Fire Pit Please make sure fire is completely out. Use the Fire Bucket located next to the hose in the parking area to put out any embers.

From communication down to the essentials worth every penny!!! we loved this cabin!!stream right outside ....watched rabbits hummingbirds and deer from the porch nightly....clean cabin with many extras....ive stayed in numerous cabins throughout the Carolinas and Tennessee and this one tops them all!!!! owner very easy to get a hold of for questions...

Perfect Location, Sweet Cabin

Sunnyside cabin was perfectly located for our short getaway. We’ve came to Roan Mountain several times now and vowed to come back during high bloom of the rhododendrons. The cabin was centrally located to all of our hikes and evening adventures. Plenty of charm right there on the Doe with a spotless cabin. We enjoyed breakfast on the front porch each day and devotions at night. The sound of the rushing water was simply perfect. We very much enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend others to do the same.

Weekend get away

It was super beautiful and peaceful there! We enjoyed hiking in Carver’s Gap and Roan Mountain with our 3 pups. Plus fishing in the river. We very much enjoyed the cabin. I will say if you are a cast iron person like myself to cook, bring your own. But decent dish-ware and enough to make meals. My only complaint is the drip pans need to be changed on the stove because they are black almost. Otherwise no complaints and perfect place to get away. We plan to possibly make this an annual trip.

Great quick place to stay

I enjoyed the cabin while visiting my ETSU student. Get groceries before coming to cabin. Cabin was clean, pet friendly, and cozy. Listening to the water was so relaxing. Power went out but we had a bad storm come in. Power was back on in a short period of time. Thank you for sharing your cabin with my family and pets.

Perfect Hiker Basecamp

The property is a few minutes from multiple hiking trails in Roan Mountain State Park. It’s also about 15 minutes from Carver’s Gap where you can hike northbound on the Appalachian Trail to experience great views on several balds. Southbound on the AT will take through magnificent spruce/fir forests up to Roan High Knob. We also drove 2 hours to Grayson Highlands State Park to see the wild ponies and more spectacular scenery.

Very nice except description

50 yards from road, 50 yards to next stoor cabin, no hot tub/jaccuzzi, fake fireplace, and no back yard or hiking area. Everything else was very nice and as described.

Perfect getaway

Perfect for a little getaway for an anniversary or small family vacation. Cabin is adorable, there’s neighbors but we didn’t see not one person actually lol. Was perfect!

Mountain cabin

It was very clean and comfortable. Our drawbacks 1. Don’t wander after dark near the creek it’s marked a drop off but we arrived after dark. ( it sounded so inviting !) 2. Set your google maps before you get close - it cancels out . 3. If you sleep light - this isn’t for you . The cabin wood is beautiful but every step creaks . We thought it was closer to our party and it was a drive - that was disappointing. It is tastefully decorated and very accommodating. Beautiful beautiful area . Cabin was gorgeous.

We had a great time staying at the cabin. Everything we needed for a week's stay was there. And if not there was a dollar general down the road for anything else. It's conveniently located between many beautiful places in the Eastern Tenn area. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking. They were quick to respond to any questions we had prior to staying.

Truly a 5+ Rental!

So happy to find this rental in Roan Mountain! As others have said, property was very clean, had many provisions that you don’t find in most rentals, had the soothing Doe River running right by the cabin to lull you to sleep at night, and great outdoor space. Owner was very responsive and accommodating. We will be back!

Roan Mountain Cabin

Great cabin on picturesque Doe creek. Near hiking trails. Short drive to good restaurants and a great distillery in Jonesboro, Tennessee Hills. Can't wait to visit again. P. S. Our dog gives 5 paws!

Perfect getaway!

We loved the cozy but open cabin! We cooked and used the fireplace as it was a bit snowy, then explored the graveyard at the top of the hill with a beautiful view. Glad the dogs were welcome! We would stay again-very close to Roan Mountain hiking.

This is the third time that we stayed at this cabin The location as well as the amenities make it the nicest place we have ever stayed Especially appreciated is the coffee station with a wide choice of coffees and fixings The cabin is impecable And dog friendly
