"Looking for the villa experience in Phoenix? We have stayed at both the Westin Kierland Villas and Marriott's Canyon Villas in Phoenix/Scottsdale several times each. Upon check-in (room wasn't ready until after 4:00 pm as stated), we were told that the adjacent JW resort facilities were not available like usual due to a "black out week". Never once was this communicated to us up front by the host, the actual Marriott point holders who had the week, nor Canyon Villas themselves. The listing...

"A hotel pool closing at 8 seemed odd, especially in Phoenix. The staff seemed to be a bunch of kids telling adults what they could and couldn't do. The pool was "open" until 8, but they shut the pool down with the lights in it at 7 or so and they left the dark pool open that would get pretty crowded, again odd and unsafe. They had signs that you'll be charged for missing towels but nobody collects them from you. You get charged a resort fee on top of staying there, which I'm unsure why it isn't...

"This was our 2nd time staying here! The grounds are well maintained and beautiful! We really enjoyed the spool (spa pool)! We used it almost every evening, the only downfall was my swim bottoms got discolored/bleached from being in the water. So maybe the chemical level is too high. Our room was on the top floor, so the only noise we heard was from the road and occasionally from the guests in the room next to us! I would recommend requesting a room on the top floor, and ideally facing the gold...
