A light filled studio space, with large bathroom and balcony bedroom

  • Barns Bothy is a newly renovated and extremely comfortable bolt hole, in a beautiful setting. Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, log burning stove and well equipped kitchen. Large garden and room to store your bikes. Lots of heavenly walks from the front door. Enjoy this perfect space for two people, or take Barns Library and Barns Tower, both next door for a group of up to 10 friends.
    The space
    Barns Bothy is light filled, warm and comfortable. A perfect place to hide away for a few days from the hurly burly of life. Plenty of breathtaking walks right from the front door, and a pretty garden to spend time in.
    Guest access
    Guests can enjoy walking extensively in the Barns Estate. The Arboretum is just opposite the Bothy, and there are woodland, riverside and hill top walks in every direction.
    Other things to note
    If the Bothy is already booked for your preferred dates, we do also have 2 other unusual and luxurious properties just nearby at Barns Library and Barns Tower. Both of these can be booked either directly or through VRBO.

Beautiful Bothy

Lovely property in a quiet location. Perfect escape for a few days, especially if you want peace and quiet. The property has everything you'd want for a short break. The local town is a 10 min drive or hour walk away (through a forest or down the river).

Perfect for a stay in the Scottish Borders.

Our return visit to The Bothy was everything we hoped it would be. It is beautifully designed, warm, bright and comfortable. It is very well situated just outside Peebles and not far from the River Tweed. We look forward to staying there again soon.

Wonderful stay at Barns Bothy. Extremely comfortable and well provisioned. Great communication - accurate, timely and not overbearing! Beautiful location; fabulous walks and close to town. A real break away for the norm. Will return!

Easter Break

We had a lovely stay over the weekend, perfect accommodation for two plus a dog. Lots of lovely walks within a short distance. Would hope to return in future.

Lovely stay

Absolutely love Barns Bothy! Beautiful location - quiet and rural but very convenient for Peebles and the gorgeous Dawyck Gardens. Dark sky as we were lucky with the weather. Everything we needed was there and everything so comfy. Amazing shower and bath! Just one thing - more information on what we can recycle ie plastics and tins and which bin to put them in! Many thanks for sharing this lovely place!

Cosy retreat in very quiet and peaceful surroundings

Great short break in quiet and peaceful surroundings facilities were great comfortable bed welcome pack of bread milk and eggs were much appreciated good base for visiting Peebles and surrounding area great for stargazing as little light pollution.

Ideal!

The Bothy was perfect for our stay in the Borders, peaceful and secluded, and we were given some nice extras like fresh bread and biscuits. Comfy and cosy, perfect for two. We will definitely stay here again.

Excellent cottage

We had an excellent stay at Barns Bothy and would recommend anyone to stay there.The place is immaculate with everything you need and more at your fingertips. You really do feel at home when you are there with lots of information provided with regards to where you are and what is available to you nearby.

Beautiful place to stay!

We loved staying at Neidpath, it was a beautiful, clean, and cozy cottage. We had all of the amenities we could need and loved that it had so many walking trails and was so close to Peebles. Everyone was very friendly and I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful wee cottage

We had a wonderful stay at Barns Bothy. It's a beautiful wee cottage, clean and comfortable. The shower was great, too! It was so convenient for us as we had our wedding at the walled garden. The only thing I would recommend as an improvement is a later check out time, specially if there's been an event at the venue. Super stay, would recommend!

Excellent stay

We had a lovely weekend staying here while visiting Peebles for a family wedding at Neidpath Castle. The Barns Bothy was ideal for a two people - it was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We would highly recommended to anyone and would be keen to return in the future.

Small, comfortable self-contained cottage in the beautiful Tweed Valley

The cottage is small but fine for two people. The accommodation is comfortable and the galley kitchen has everything you need.Nespresso machine much appreciated. A few miles outside Peebles which has a good selection of independent shops and eating places. Good bus connections to Edinburgh. Great walking country.

A Romantic Getaway

My husband and I rented Barns Bothy for our 1st wedding anniversary and it was incredibly lovely. A great option for those who want to getaway yet be close to quite a few laces to see. The place was so nicely decorated, updated, clean, had stocked some snacks/groceries for us, and had much charm. The admin team for the estate was incredibly lovely. We would recommend this place for anyone coming to the Scottish borders.
