Perfect location for enjoying the UP whether you want to hike the Porkies, visit nearby waterfalls, explore Ontonagon and surrounding communities, or simply relax at the home. We especially enjoyed the back deck overlooking the path to the beach. The host had anticipated all our needs and quickly responded to questions. The tiled walk-in showers and high quality appliances gave the home a luxurious feel. We would enjoy staying here again and recommend it without hesitation.

The property is just as described & even better in person. The owners have thought of everything -the house is well-appointed & clean. Communication with owners is incredibly prompt. The property is secluded & feels very private. Would 100% recommend!

Beautiful Home & Property - Amazing Stay!

This property was incredible! We had such a great stay and enjoyed our week immensely. The black flies and mosquitos were terrible, but we didn't let them ruin our time. The beach is beautiful - we were able to enjoy sunset from kayaks on the lake! The location of this property is perfect to enjoy everything in both the Porcupine Mountains and the Keweenaw Peninsula. The home itself is clean and well kept - the kitchen was well stocked and the bedroom layout was great for our multi-generational family.

UP Snowmobile Trip

We had 4 guys staying here for our UP snowmobile trip. The house is fantastic! It was very clean and well stocked so no looking for paper towels or trash bags etc........It was a very comfortable place to come back to after some long days riding. We will definitely be booking this rental again in the future.

Fall in the UP

Our group of 5 seniors had a great 5 night stay. Some of us have stayed in many vacation rentals (including 2 others on this very road) and we all agreed that this was by far the best equipped property ever. It was so nice to have basic cooking ingredients stocked in the kitchen with plenty of utensils, cookware and drinkware-even a martini shaker! It was clean and in a beautiful setting with many lovely touches. The lighted path to the beach, fire pit, and cool corncrib gazebo was magical. The property was easy to find and is very close to the state park and other beautiful drives. The house is big enough for three couples to share if two people donā€™t mind twin beds. The two fairly minor negatives (one of the twin beds had a protective bed covering on it with no mattress cover over it, making it an uncomfortable sleep for an adult, and the coffeemaker was very clogged up with what appeared to be sand ? and so was very slow-a problem for 5 coffee drinkers!) were communicated to the owner and she responded quickly. While these problems were not corrected during our stay, it sounds like they may be addressed in the future. Other than those two things, it was exactly as advertised and we appreciated the use of the property. It is easy to see why it has the name it does. It became our happy place for a brief time. Perfection!

From the moment we pulled into the driveway we loved the house. The property is beautiful. So many special touches to the home. We really enjoyed the fireplaces, flameless candles, comfy bed and huge shower. The deck is very inviting however we spent most of our time at the private beach. It was hard to leave during the day to go to the Porkies, waterfalls and other local things we came to see. Make sure to plan a couple days of your trip to just enjoy the property. We both miss the beach and can't wait to come back.

Vey Happy!

My wife, brother, sister-in-law, and I had a great stay at Christel and Chad's UP Happy Place! The house is in an excellent location, private and yet not remote. There was plenty of space inside for us to kick back and relax -either together or in our own spots. We prepared a couple of dinner meals (used a grill one night - perfect!) and had all the cooking utensils, pots and pans we needed. The house is nicely, thoughtfully decorated, and was squeaky clean. What I really remember, though, was the walk down to Lake Superior, and the walks along the beach. Amazing. Christel was super responsive, and attentive to our needs. An excellent host.

The Beach

We stayed 3 nights and it was perfect. The home is clean and welcoming. All of the amenities worked perfectly. We didn't use the grills as we ate out as much as possible. Awesome beach area

We really enjoyed our stay and plan on staying here again next time we are in the area. There was a very large sandy beach area that we did a campfire every night. The house was clean. The bathrooms were recently renovated and look great.

Beautiful home

My family had a wonderful stay in the UP. The house was clean and wonderfully updated. We loved the surrounding area and had many wonderful adventures. The private beach was great. I would stay in the house again and recommend it to other people.
