Great stay
We had a peaceful and enjoyable trip to Pura Vida. It is secluded and felt very safe. The property was as advertised and very spacious, bigger than the pictures make it look. We had one plumbing issue that was responded to quickly. Highly recommended and we will be back!

Great location
Two families with 6 children aging between 8-17 stayed here for three nights. We liked the location and large property. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for cooking all our meals at home. My only complaints, but not deal breakers were the counters were quite tall, meaning the cabinets were even taller and I couldn’t reach items easily (I am 5’4”) on some of the shelves and the bed was a little too firm for my liking. We had a great weekend there though! Communication was top notch!

Amazing!
GREAT! House was clean, kitchen fully stocked( crockpot!). Everything i needed to prepare food for 12 people! Fire ring right off porch was perfect location. Extremely private.....no neighbors. Plenty of sleeping room. Master is very large and offers plenty of floor space. Property beautiful with lots of great picture opportunities. Would 100% recommend

Pura Vida
The house is a beautiful old home located deep in the woods in Ohiopyle State Park. It had a few out building you can explore with your eyes and nature all around for long walks. We were within 10 minutes drive of both Frank Loyd Wright homes that are open to the public and the borough of Ohiopyle.

Secluded and spacious
Beautiful secluded property close to all Ohiopyle activities. Dog friendly. Comfortable. Clean. Outdoor spaces to explore on property. Lots of taxidermy which is off-putting but comfort made up for it.

R&R with OVR
Pura Vida offered our family of six plenty of space to relax and unwind. We enjoyed the quiet and rustic atmosphere. The property was conveniently located to many of the main OhioPyle attractions. The owners were very informative and provided us with everything we needed to know before our trip. The property was equipped with all the necessities that we needed during our stay.

Friendsgiving
This cabin was a perfect place to have our Friendsgiving with our best friends and kids. We had more then enough room for 13 of us and 2 dogs. The Christmas tree was a absolutely perfect surprise!!!! The kitchen was perfect for cooking and baking cookies. The kids loved the multiple beds in the rooms. It was perfect for the 3 families. We wish we could of adventured around the property, but it rained the entire weekend. It looked so cool all the little things around the cabin to explore. This was a perfect location that was secluded yet close to things. Dollar General was less then 15 mins down the road which was helpful when we realized we forgot some ingredients for dinner. Everyone had a great time and loved the cabin! Thank you for a wonderful holiday trip!!!

Fall Family Weekend
Cabin was clean and spacious. Lovely, private setting in the woods while close to Ohiopyle. Also, it just happened to be the most beautiful autumn weather weekend of the year. Lucky us!

Perfect summer trip
This was our second time staying at Pura Vida and it was just as great as the first time! It close to all of the fun activities in Ohiopyle but the property is nice and private. OVR is a great company to rent from!

Spectacular!!! Natural beauty all around.
The property was quiet, secluded, and peaceful. The natural beauty of the wildlife, streams and buildings was amazing. We absolutely loved our stay. I thought I lost the key and management was right on it.

Great stay, except the ants and dead mouse.
House was beautiful. Location was great. Beds are comfortable. There were some slight issues with bugs, which is to be expected since we are in the woods. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to use the kitchen during our stay because of a dead mouse under the kitchen sink that smelled horribly, and an ant bait trap next to the kitchen sink that attracted a lot of big ants! Found what was causing the bad smell, and got rid of the mouse, so hopefully the next guest can use the kitchen.

Wonderful, secluded propery
My family and I stayed here for a weekend in the winter. The kids had a blast sledding and we enjoyed some movies and board games in the comfy living room. The property was beyond what we expected and we loved staying there so much we booked another week-long trip in the summer with other family members. We're really looking forward to returning!

Nice but ….
The house was very clean & well maintained. The old barns/buildings were helpful on creating a rustic feel. And we enjoyed ourselves. There were a couple of things missing - ie a fishing pond & hot tub. Along with dish towels, dish rags & enough paper towels, toilet paper & dishwasher detergent/liquid to accommodate 12 people. We had 10 - 9 of which were adults. We enjoyed all the attractions. Overall it was a great stay & a wonderful experience. :)

Overall good
The property was large with a good layout for our group. The inside was clean and comfortable but is in need of some repairs. The upstairs bathroom water pressure is low, and the faucet is difficult to control. The stair railing was wobbly. The kitchen cabinet hardware was all loose. The outside could be beautiful, but the grass was super overgrown, outbuildings were rickety and dangerous. The porch was dirty, and the grill was barely usable. The trash receptacle outside was so full, it wasn’t able to be shut. Either a bear or raccoon had a nice midnight snack while we were there. We found the wishing well next to a barn but no fishing pond. Considering all these minor issues, I would stay again because the house was very large and the property was secluded. Hope the owners can take care of these few things for a better experience next time!

Amazing how much to do in the area
The property is stand alone in a beautiful wooded lot. We enjoyed watching the deer and ground hogs. I rated the property communications low for this reason. First this property is managed by a company and had initial extra paperwork which went fairly well. Dealing with a company is not like dealing with an owner! I am used to some compassion and understanding when renting. The house had been vacant for two days. The weather forecast was for torrential rains on our check in day. I had requested early check in at booking but had to keep requesting it. I was traveling with an 85 year old Mom. Any they charged me $55.50 to check in an hour early! That was ridiculous but helped us time our arrival. The house is set up nice with most things available in kitchen except where are the oven mitts. Things started deteriorating the last night when some of our food froze, the a/ c didn’t work and there aren’t screens. It was 85 upstairs. There was no answer after 12 minutes on hold on non emergency line. I did receive a text overnight but it was to late at that point. Also the person said I should have texted her but I didn’t ever talk to her before and if that was so should be in your Vrbo contract and on the refrigerator. I initially texted back and emailed through the Vrbo website no response! I will definitely watch who is managing the rental from now on.

Incredible mountain getaway
The pictures don’t do this place justice. The house and property are gorgeous and totally secluded. Nice trails within walking distance and just a couple miles from town. It was clean and well stocked, no complaints whatsoever. We’ll definitely be renting this place again!

Once we learned that we could use the wood burner we were quite satisfied. No complaints about the property. The neighbors dog was loose / not on a leash and ended up biting one of our guest. No big issue sine she was dressed in layers but was upsetting to the group. We would stay at this property again. Mark Balukin

Nice place to stay!
This was a nice house to stay in for the weekend while we were attending a family member's wedding. It was spacious and allowed our family to all stay together. The secluded setting was perfect, allowing outdoor space to go for hikes and to permit the kids to run around.

Pure Vida Feedback
We stay at this property every year and noticed that it was not as clean this year. Though it did smell really nice upon entering (there was a plug in right by front door) also only garbage bags there were the ones in the can and unfortunately we forgot to bring some with us. I really think it would help if there were a few extra under the sink for instances like this. We made it work but its just a request for in case someone does forget this item. Also might be a good idea to have a few extra blankets on hand. Well I know this isn't something that you say you have in case someone would like one while laying on couch but I do want to mention that we stay at a few other homes also on a yearly basis and these things are available to us for a more comfortable stay. Just a thought. Also and more importantly some outside lights in the yard. This particular property is pitch black at night. You can't see your hand in front of your face. Kind of sketchy walking to and from car after dark. We always have to use our phones for flashlight.

Love this place!
This house was a pleasant surprise. Nice wooded setting and wraparound porch with lots of chairs and grill. Interior got rave reviews from our group. The outdoor/hunting theme was carried out throughout. Everything was clean and handy. Sleeping accommodations were clean and comfortable. The house had a lot of the thing over and above what the listing said would be there. We highly recommend this place!

Delightful Stay
The property is amazing offering a variety of opportunities for all ages such as space for kids and dog to run and explore, trail in woods, campfire gathering, wonderment of history, enjoyment of nature - peace and quiet, privacy. The house remodeling is well done and has a cabin feel. We do question the advertised fishing pond but enjoyed the lack of mosquitoes most likely due to the fascinating bats. Some of the bed mattresses had issue and there is a very unpleasant odor under kitchen sink, and housekeeping could have cleaned a bit more thoroughly, but none of that interfered with family good times at Pura Vida. It is conveniently located near the state park and beautiful water falls, hiking, and water activities on river and on lake. We recommend Pura Vida as a family vacation home!

Check-In Time
We live this cabin so much. We continue to book it a couple of times per year. My only complaint is the check-in time. I think it should be either earlier than 4 or the checkout time should be later than 10. I just feel that we aren’t getting the most out of our stay because it feels like we are rushing to get out.

We only booked for a two night stay but really enjoyed our experience at the lodge. Very close to the trails and provided a quiet retreat for all of us! Some minor issues with lighting and no fishing pond as advertised, but overall a great experience!

Second year at Pura Vida for us! Cabin is comfortable and welcoming. Weather gave us freezing rain so spent our time playing board games and watching movies..no hiking 🙄. Spent some time at a nearby winery and distillery!

Overall beautiful location . We would like some pointers about hiking around the local hills, if it is permitted by neighbors; local scenic spots and so forth. Could the garage be available to be used as a pavilion?

A dream of a stay!
After a busy visit to DC, we retreated to this beautiful cabin for a bit of rest before returning home. The natural surroundings were so very peaceful, and the house itself was a gem! Even my teenaged sons were describing how they would like to live there permanently. The drive into town was an easy one, allowing for simple access to Ohiopyle and Cucumber Falls. We hope to return again in the future.

Great mountain cabin
We had 10 people in our party and were very comfortable. The house is way out in the woods with no neighbors. The only negative was that we arrived after dark and the driveway is not lit up and you cannot see the house from the road. We actually passed up the house and then had to turn around on a one lane road in the dark. The next morning we saw that there was a sign at the end of the driveway but in the dark we couldn’t see it. We really enjoyed our stay.

The property was clean and well maintained. It had everything we needed for our short stay. It is very secluded which we didn't mind. The front door opens with a key but remains locked unless you physically unlock it from the inside. We, unfortunately didn't realize this and locked ourselves out at 9:30 one night. Luckily my teenage son had his cell phone on him and we were able to call VBO and have maintenance arrive after about 30 min. Overall a nice stay and would stay there again with a group of friends or family.

Awesome location and accommodates a large group well with some planning ahead.
The property fit our group of 11 very well. With 6 beds, we fit everyone quite comfortably. I would suggest that any new renters bring their own electric skillet to provide another Cook top of you have a large group. The cabin was fairly clean, but the floors need a thorough cleaning. They made our feet dirty on the bottom just a few minutes in. I suggest that the owner build a little bit better of a bridge that leads to the fire pit, as the board that is in place now is a little bit of a hassle on the dark. We really enjoyed the surroundings of the cabin and it's size. The beds were comfortable for everyone and the kitchen. Was able to fit everyone without being too tight. My only other complaint is that we weren't able to use both showers at the same time. We tried once and the person using the shower upstairs experience a rotation of freezing and then very hot water. I'd be interested in learning more about the history of the property, it seems as though parts of it were something else before the cabin came about. I would definitely stay at Pura Vida again if I had a large group going to Ohiopyle or just to the general area for a get together.

Remote yet convenient
Excellent property to get away and enjoy nature, with many amenities in the home as well. The seclusion was complemented by quick access to Ohio Pyle and surrounding activities. We loved the fire pit and the kitchen was great for cooking family meals.

Total seclusion yet Ohiopyle is minutes away
We stayed four nights, there were six adults, two kids, and two dogs. This is the third year we've come to Ohiopyle and this was the first truly secluded cabin. Other than us, there was one vehicle a day that drove past the cabin. The cabin was clean and cozy, there were extra chairs to eat our meals. A covered porch, huge charcoal grill, plenty of clean towels, games, comfy couches and chairs. There was tons of property to explore! We saw a fawn, ground hog, chipmunks, birds, tadpoles and turkeys! Our pups loved the open spaces. We also got to enjoy the fire pit two nights, first night it rained. There is a family friendly trail nearby called Meadow Run, we stumbled upon it while looking for a trail to hike. There are flat rocks that you can go to the middle of the river, climbing rocks, and something called the slides, which we didn't see. Last, but not least Ohiopyle is a gem, buy some local produce, honey and Maple syrup; grab a quick lunch and ice cream; check out the biking trails, white water rafting and kayaking. It's a beautiful place! Recommend bringing an extra pan/pot for cooking. Also, if you're short a step stool, some of the cabinets were hard to reach, I'm 5'6". I think giants built the kitchen 😂.

Wonderful stay even though it rained most of our visit. Another load of gravel for newer parking area would help for the rainy days. House nicely accommodated 12 of us, 6 adults and 6 kids. Would highly recommend this property. Has the space and comfort to accommodate a larger group
