We have not stayed anywhere in PA before but we like to find new areas for vacation. This was in a great location, there were many hiking areas within minutes. The hot tub was great after longs treks.

Quiet getaway
Perfect location for a quiet getaway. Enjoyed the hottub. The trees provided just the right amount of shade. Would definitely consider returning on our next vacation!

Long weekend away
We loved the Place in the Pines. It was exceptionally clean and exactly as described. The hot tub and the pines were relaxing and the proximity to hiking trails was so convenient. We will likely re-book.

Lovely Getaway Spot
I stayed at a Place in the Pines for a short overnight trip with my husband and son. The house was smaller than expected and I was curious about how it could sleep 4 people with only one bedroom area (plus couch). However, it was a clean space, exactly what we needed and the hot tub and secluded outdoor space was perfect. I would definitely come back for a getaway with my husband, as it seems like the perfect place for a little couples weekend.

Perfect little cabin
Overall the place was amazing and perfect for a great romantic weekend away and a great recovery place after some hard whitewater rafting. The hot tub was perfect. Our only complaint would be the bed. It’s to soft and the frame not put together well. Upgrade the bed and this place is a 5 outta 5! We will book again. Just hope bed gets upgraded. Thanks!!

OVR service is excellent
We experienced unforeseen problems with our rental, but OVR staff quickly resolved them and made sure we were able to enjoy our stay in the mountains. They were responsive and polite. We were very impressed with how they jumped right in Friday evening and early Saturday to take care of us and our pets.

Early Anniversary
The property was exactly as described. It was quaint and tucked away just enough to have a nice quiet getaway from home. Only small issue that we had is that the brush at the end of the driveway obstructs your view of traffic coming down the hill.

Great getaway
My husband and I enjoyed our 25th wedding anniversary at this little getaway.. really enjoyed the jacuzzi as the snow fell. Private, but close to all we needed. Great food and entertainment at Braddock’s just 5 min away. Thanks for a lovely weekend!

Cozy cabin for two
Pros: Clean and smelled nice, comfortable temperature upon arrival (great in the middle of winter!), easy check in with electronic door code, clean and stocked amenities, responsive customer service, heat works well, fixtures/amenities in good condition Cons: Hard to find in the snow (directions should include watching for the OVR sign at the driveway entrance. Customer service was responsive and able to help guide us), bed is NOT comfortable (it bows in the middle and causes you to roll toward the center), fireplace was not in working order which was disappointing Overall would recommend as a comfortable stay for 2 people. Likely would not be enough space for more, especially with only one bathroom.

Very clean and comfortable cabin. full kitchen and laundry, cozy living room, and good bed; quiet wooded location. The building needs some maintenance outside, but this did not hinder my use of the cabin. Checkin was easy. I enjoyed my stay.

The hot tub is new and works great but the property overall was tired and in need of an update (the tub especially!) The sofa bed is uncomfortable - not suitable for adults to sleep on! The other bed is a queen and was fine. I expected more for the price and then was charged an extra $50 for checking in 45 min early!

Beautiful place, could use a little maintenance
Place in the Pines is an adorable little cabin in a gorgeous location -- accessible, yet still secluded. We were repeat visitors to the cabin after loving it last year. It's still just as adorable and very clean (despite a persistent smell of wood smoke in the living room area), but there were a few things that could use a bit of upkeep. The fittings on the tub/shower were a bit loose, and it was very hard to get the plug to stay in if you wanted to use the tub. Even after secuting it, water continued to slowly drain. The toilet required two flushes almost every time it was used, and the doorknob to the mud room was loose. Most of the interior doors were creaky and would stick shut or be hard to close, but that can be attributed to humidity and the swelling of the wood. The fire pit and hot tub were wonderful additions but would have been even nicer were it not for the pit bull that wandered over and proceeded to hang out in the yard. I've read that the neighbor has a dog that has disturbed other guests, but this was our first encounter with it. Other than these few issues, it's a lovely place for a relaxing getaway.

Mostly great
This cottage in rural PA was perfectly located for visiting Fallingwater (the primary reason for our visit) but also provided a wonderfully relaxing stopping point on our long journey. The house itself is a bit spartan but entirely adequate. It has fewer things supplied than most VRBO's we have rented, but that is in accordance with the policies of the controlling enterprise, Ohiopyle Vacation Rentals. The hot tub is absolutely superb, the bed was comfortable, everything was in excellent working condition, and the dog-friendly option was very welcome for our small furry friend. The site is somewhat less secluded than the description suggests, but it is private enough.

Ohiopyle trip
We had a great stay here! The property was well located for all of the activities we wanted to do. Each evening the hot tub helped us recharge for more hiking the next morning. We had an awesome getaway and we can’t wait to come back!

Quiet Retreat
My hubby and I needed a quite little getaway from the crazy hustle and bustle of our lives, Place in the Pines was the perfect escape. The 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage was just want we needed. It was cozy and comfortable, and the hot tub was perfect. I wish we had come a little later in the season when some of the local restaurants were open, but we did find Christian W Klay Winery that was just down the road! We also walked the Cucumber Falls trails, check out Fort Necessity and had lunch at Mountain Pies! All in all, it was a great little trip.

Cozy an comfortable. Great place to relax. Our only complaint is that the bathtub looks dirty. As previously said in other comments, it’s not dirty but it looks like it’s been painted and the paint is coming off. Don’t let that stop you. The rest of the place make up for it.

Nice cottage near Ohiopyle
This was perfect for my husband and I to take a little getaway to Ohiopyle. We love love being able to take our dog with us and relaxing in the hot tub after hiking was great. Very clean and accurate listing. The Christmas decor was a nice added touch.

This house the pines was such a beautiful little cabin is o'cabin with such character
The experience was great, We were Pleasantly surprised That the home was decorated for Christmas which is the time we were there. We were able to relax enjoy the outdoor beauty and and feel very festive and effestive and at home with all of the amenities. I just wish the fireplace was working. Is my only complaint would be that the mattress in the bedroom was not at all comfortable for what we we paid for this weekend, it sagged in the middle which made it hard to sleep. We would definitely return though.

It was acceptable stay but I wouldn’t book this spot again. I was surprised they didn’t provide extra trash bags or coffee filters. It’s pretty pricey for what it is.

Could use some updates
Overall we had a nice time. Property could definitely use some updates, the pictures do not accurately describe it, it looks like they were taken at least 10-15 years ago. The home looks abandoned from the outside. Faded and peeling paint, dirty and full of huge cobwebs. The jacuzzi cover is filthy and torn. The inside was actually quite clean, however the recessed lighting fixtures are falling out of the ceiling, the tub is destroyed beyond repair, the mattress is the absolute worst, and the slightest movement sounds like the headboard is going to put a hole in the wall. The neighbors dog was very friendly, his name is Sampson and he will come visit with you, you will hear his owner bellowing for him endlessly. Was a bit disappointed when rodents showed up on the last day and gnawed through our breakfast, leaving a mess and tons of fences on the countertops. We attempted to let management know but they never responded. Overall had a good time , but expected a bit more for the price.

Great stay
Great location relative to everything ohiopyle/laurel highlands related. Inside was very clean (smelled of fresh pinesol when we arrived). Outside of house is a little beat up but everything on the inside looks to be newly renovated (except for the bathtub). Had everything we needed for a home base on our hiking weekend. I’d go back again.

Anniversary delight
My husband and I wanted to get away for our 20th wedding anniversary and selected this beautiful cabin. We loved celebrating and relaxing at this quaint and cozy cottage close to everything. We loved the hot tub and fireplace. It was super clean and had a well stocked kitchen. We made a fire while reviewing our memories of the morning’s hike in OhioPyle State Park. It’s a place we would love to visit again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy but comfy house. Or only issue was the hot tub was a bit funky and needed chemical/chlorine attention. For those with dogs note the floor is all hardwood and linoleum so you might want to bring something for your pet to lay on.

Clean and cozy
We had a great time. It was perfect for the two of us and our dog. We really enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. The furniture in the living room has been updated since the photos we saw. It was nice and comfortable. The only negative is the fire place has been converted to gas. The online description says wood burning and we were really looking forward to that. It would have been perfect the one rainy day we had. We have a gas fireplace at our home so it wasn’t that exciting. The description should be changed so people aren’t disappointed like we were. I had even asked about it when we got our check in documents.

Cute and cozy house in great location
The house was cute and cozy for a quick weekend getaway. Its location is great for exploring the area, especially to see the FLW houses - it’s about 20 minutes from Fallingwater, 10 to Kentuck Knob. It had very close access to lots of fun trails as well. The hot tub was amazing on cold afternoons. The driveway is quite steep and was extremely icy, and we had some trouble getting up it in our Honda Fit, so a vehicle with all wheel drive might be recommended. The kitchen was ok - unfortunately some of the pans were a dirty when we arrived, and the one frying pan we could find was so scratched we couldn’t use it. Overall though, our stay was great and the house was lovely for a weekend.

Lovely little spot for solitude and woods.
A great little spot close to Ohio Pyle and everything you need to a simple little retreat. The hot tub was lovely and the Christmas decorations were a nice touch.
