This property is very spacious and has a great layout. The outdoor space is very large and has a great view. The beds were comfortable. It is in need of updates and cosmetic fixes both indoors and outdoors. There are extra pillows but not blankets. Outdoor painting finished while we were there and we had workers and lots of materials on our deck during our stay, including lots of paint chips everywhere. Bring basics like all paper products, dish soap, trash bags etc. We had a fun time and did rent umbrellas and chairs for our entire stay. The pool was nice and landscaping was pretty.

Our 3rd time staying here.

The Rooftop Penthouse has always been my happy place. This time around, however, was a little different. We were not told they would be doing exterior work the entire week of our stay until we arrived and found half the parking lot closed off with trash dumpsters and work vehicles. We had very little privacy on the large balcony we always enjoy so much. The sunset view from the bedroom with the queen bed was blocked with the workers equipment. We felt we had to keep the curtains closed most of the time. You could not walk barefoot on the balcony because of all the paint chips on the floor. I ended up using the sweeper to clean up as many paint chips as I could. The 3 support slats under the king bed in the master bedroom were broken causing a large dip all the way down the center of the bed. We tried to sleep on it as is. After the 2nd night, we had stiff necks and sore backs. I called Marshall, the owner, who is always attentive and available. He had us rig up the bed for the rest of the week to get us through, until he could replace it. We piled encyclopedias under all 3 support beams which helped immensely. I wish we would have done it sooner! The toilet in the master bath quit flushing on day 3. Marshall had a plumber in there the same day and got it fixed. Even though this time around wasn't as nice, I would still stay here again, and recommend the RTPH to others.

This property beautiful, it is large and had enough room for all of us to have time alone but also enjoy family time. They were painting the building so we weren't able to use the patio as much as planned but it was a great location with a beautiful view and close to everything

Off season vacation

Stayed 14 days. The penthouse has amazing views. Beach was not crowded this time of year. Plenty of space for family visiting for a few days. Great walkable neighborhood. Kitchen was well equipped with appliances, dishes, utensils, pots pans. There was a fresh towel and wash cloth on each bed upon arrival. Space was clean. Decor is a bit outdated but still clean and usable. Nice TV above fireplace. Building update project during our stay was noisy but the workers did their best To clean up at the end of the day. Marshall was amazing! Answering any communications and addressing quickly! I definitely look forward to my next stay!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

The Good: great location, fantastic view, close to the water and plenty of room. The Bad: mold on the shower faucet handle and in the exterior fountain. No soap of any kind furnished. No hand or dishwashing soap. One trash bag only. The Ugly: No paper products of any kind. Want to blow your nose? No Kleenex. Paper towels? No. How about the basic? Toilet paper? three rolls that had about a dozen sheets left. Any low budget hotel at least has toilet paper. Finally, they should have a handy man come in for a week to fix loose handles on shower doors, put bulbs in lamps, and give the place a good deep cleaning. In the listing the owner should make people aware that they need to bring these items.

Too many problems and overpriced!

This place is in such disrepair that we have no desire to return. The railing outside is not to code, our little ones could have easily slipped through. He did very quickly have netting temporarily installed and that helped us to feel a little better. When we arrived the master bathtub hot water faucet was flowing full on and couldnā€™t be turned off, dumping thousands of gallons of water and leaving us with no hot water. Apparently this started Weds, 4 days before we arrived on Saturday and wasnā€™t fixed til Tuesday. We had to be there to let the plumber in on Monday to assess the problem. They then returned the next day so we had to be there to let them in and wait til they finished the work which was 9-noon on Tuesday. Then the rain from Debbie came, causing the ceiling to leak needing 3 buckets to catch it! (That was the last straw.) Roach traps everywhere; 2x4ā€™s holding up the curtains in some places; queen bed needs replaced. I could go on. The space itself is large, unique and really could be great. However, there is too much that could go wrong here. Vrboā€™s are supposed to be your home away from home, comfortable and relaxing. That was not the case. We asked for a 50% refund due to the issues we had to deal with. He offered 7 nights free, no thanks! Worst Vrbo experience ever! Marshall is really milking this cash cow. He doesnā€™t even provide a full roll of toilet paper.

Fun family vacation

We had a wonderful time at our stay at the Rooftop Penthouse. It was a great view and room enough for all of us to be comfortable. Marshall was a great and responsive host! Hope to return!

Spacious inside and outside

We loved the amount of space the penthouse provided. We were on a family trip lookin for ample room to allow people privacy when needed especially during nap times for the little ones. A group consisted of 8 adults, a 6 year old, two 4 year olds, and a toddler. In addition, the outside area provided space for them to get energy out when needed. The unit has chairs to take to the beach which was a nice surprise. The location in North Myrtle beach provided an outstanding family atmosphere on the beach plus close enough to activities. The host Marshall was awesome when a question arose about parking. On other travels, we were given only two spots which makes it difficult for our families with all the car seats. We had enough room for all vehicles as there is additional parking across the street. Thank you for making our stay a great one!
