The lush green fairways of the Nags Head Golf Links course provide the backdrop to your stay at Tranquil Turtle in the exclusive community of The Village at Nags Head. This is the ideal home when a peaceful getaway is your Outer Banks vacation goal. The tiered decks provide ample opportunities to enjoy the serene sound views or to enjoy a meal al fresco, especially during the famous OBX sunsets.

The privacy of the outdoor entertainment area is a rare treat, with green space behind you and mature foliage on the sides. Relax the day away in the 32 x 12 private heated pool or lounging in the sun. A covered deck provides a cooler space to enjoy an outdoor meal or even a refreshing afternoon nap. The gorgeous blue-tiled bar is a fun gathering space to raise a glass to each other and your good fortune! Marvel at the sound front sunsets from the soothing bubbles of the 6-person hot tub.

One of the advantages of Tranquil Turtle is the common spaces on each floor. It gives everyone a chance to claim their own spot and enjoy a few moments of solitude. The first level has a game room with a fun foosball table, a sleeper sofa, and a wet bar. Just off the game room, you will find a King En Suite complete with private access to the backyard. You will also find a laundry area to round off the first level.

The second level offers a living area equipped with a flat-screen TV, sofa, and chair, and access to the beautiful wrap-around porch. This level also has 2 King En Suites, a 2 full-sized bed En Suite, a bunk room with 2 Twin over full bunk beds, and an additional common hall bath.

The third level is the grand great room, with its soaring ceilings, striking wood accents and comfortable furniture. The sleek kitchen with wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances and black granite counters invite the family chef to create a masterpiece. The great room, with a large sectional sofa, gliding chairs, TV and fireplace will surely end up as the favorite gathering spot. While preparing your meals or watching the game, enjoy the gorgeous views overlooking the water create an ambiance of peaceful charm. This level also features a King En Suite with a soaker tub and separate shower as well as a half bath in the hall. The loft is complete with a comfy chair and deck access, which is the perfect spot to sneak away to enjoy the views and steal a moment alone.

Once you have the chance to experience the peace and comfort this lovely home offers, Tranquil Turtle is certain to become your one and only Outer Banks vacation home choice.

The Village at Nags Head is a sound to ocean community and has an amazing set of amenities to include private sound access. There are two piers situated on the sound side of the Village at Nags Head, both with sound side parks and available to all residents and guests.

This property has 5 parking spots for guests.

Want added comfort? Consider adding the Heated Pool option! A Heated Pool option can be added upon request for $50 per night of your reservation. This fee is added to your reservation at the time of the request, which must be a minimum of 72 hours before arrival. Pool heat must be added for the entirety of your stay.

This pool is heated by a heat pump. An ambient air temperature of 60 degrees or higher is needed to heat the pool, meaning that if the temperature drops below 60 degrees the pump will not continue to heat. Max pool temperature is 80 degrees.**

**Private heated pools will open on April 1st and close on November 1st. Hot tubs are open year-round. Pools and hot tubs are cleaned weekly and no later than 6pm on check-in day. Vendors are subject to enter the backyard to clean the pool and/or spa on scheduled cleaning days.Ć¢ā‚¬ĀÆNo pets allowed in pools.**

Best Ever !

We all loved this house. The weather wasn't that great but we enjoyed our vacation just the same. We plan on renting this house for our 2025 vacation in August. Very beautiful house, nice bedroom set ups. Was very clean till looked under the beds or night stands. But there was vacuums on every level. Pool nice to have if my whole family could have gotten in and out. You have an elevator which is great but the pool has no stair railing to get in and out of the pool and itā€™s a huge step in and out. The outside bar area has bees and not the cleanest thing. Outside showers were very dirty and had poison ivy growing on it. View was nice except getting full sound view impossible with neighbors two big tall trees that block the view.

Absolute Heaven!

This place is awesome. The house is beautifully furnished and it is equipped with anything and everything you can think of. Makes you feel right at home! Nice views of the pond and golf green. We loved it!!!

Tranquil Turtle

We enjoyed our stay at the tranquil turtle immensely. With it's large and well equipped kitchen we were able to prepare large meals with ease. We watched the sunsets from the hot tub and kids enjoyed the heated pool. It's location in Nags Head was a great home base for our multiple day trips to lighthouses, fishing piers and Parks. We hope to return next year and continue exploring the area.

Perfect Spring Break

Our family stayed at Tranquil Turtle for a Spring Break vacation and we had a fantastic time. Major pros of the property: Plenty of room inside and outside for everyone to enjoy. Short 5-10 minute walk to the beach. We stayed in early April so temperatures were 60-70 degrees but the heated pool and hot tub were amazing if it's still too cool for the beach. Beautiful views of the sound, sunsets, and overlooking the 8th hole of the golf course. Great kitchen with ice machine, 2 dishwashers, and all of the equipment you could possibly need. The elevator was really convenient for getting all the luggage up to the 2nd and 3rd floors. Right next to the Nags Head Golf Links which was a great course. Location was great too with lots of restaurants and a super market near by, and about an hour drive to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, which was a really nice drive. We would 100% stay here again. Only recommendation would be if you have young children bring baby gates because there are a lot of stairs (we found a place to rent them about 1 mile away).

A great place for a family vacation

The Tranquil Turtle was first-rate for our family vacation (4 adults and 4 teens). Lots of living space, everything sparkling clean, well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. The elevator was smooth and simple to use (and essential for one member of our family). The pool was closed (November stay) but we made good use of the hot tub and extensive decks. A minor problem with a door latch was fixed promptly. We have vacationed on the OBX for more than 15 years and this lovely home is one of the very best.

Outstanding property. Better than advertised . Extremely clean. Kitchen utensils, pots and pans, everything you need to prepare a meal. Two dishwashers and separate ice maker. Property is centrally located for all activities. Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect house in a perfect location

We have been staying in the Outerbanks for the last 9 years and always have a different home. After staying at Tranquil Turtle we feel we have found the one we are going to return to. Kitchen is perfectly stocked, view is gorgeous, all the beds are very comfortable, the pool door alarms worked well to alert you to run away kids trying to go out without permission, covered porches on every side and level of the house. All the rooms were the perfect sizeā€¦ overall itā€™s the best home we have stayed at and we highly recommend it. Another perk is the neighborhood is quiet and on a cup de sac leading to a dock on the sound.

Our group of five families was very comfortable during our week's stay at the Tranquil Turtle. It was the perfect "home base" location from which to explore the Outer Banks. And the perfect setting to gather for wonderful meals cooked in the amazing kitchen at the end of busy days. We truly enjoyed every single day there!

A Family Memorial for our loved one

10 of us gathered for a week to remember and share stories of a loved one. Ages from 2 to 89 and once again fell in love with our home island. The home was comfortable and spacious for us all. The idea of suites for everyone was the highlite with the numerous king size beds. A oerfect location with so much beautiful surrounding this home. An ideal week to play golf and bicycle daily.

Loved our stay at The Tranquil Turtle

Wonderful accessible house in a quiet neighborhood. This was our first time in many year not staying oceanfront but loved the back deck overlooking the golf course and view of the sound. House was well appointed and comfortable with nice light/views on the main (kitchen/dining/living room)level. Also loved the easy access to the sound pier at the end if the street. Would definitely recommend this one!

Enormous House

This house is beautiful and very large, the elevator in the house was perfect, the house could have been cleaned a little more there was trash and cigarettes butts on the deck, none of my party sat on the couch it was kind of gross the sauna did not work the day before us leaving the pool guy was cleaning the pool I think that should have been done before we got there overall the house is beautiful and the kitchen is fully stocked.

This home is beautiful! Exactly as described. Plenty of room for 14 adults and 3 Pre Teens!

We would definitely come back to this property. Please note there is major construction going on right next door. Since the houses are so close together the noise from the crew can be annoying. But we just closed to blinds on that side of the house and enjoyed the inside since it was off season (Thanksgiving). Also construction right across the street. So needless to say to view from the front was not too impressive. But the back is beautiful!!! The house was equipped with plenty of pots for cooking. But no seasonings or little extras like foil or plastic bags do be sure to bring your own. I cooked an entire Thanksgiving Dinner and was very satisfied with the quantity of pans available. And I am a cook so quality cookware means a lot to me. The beds were extremely comfortable... all of them!!! Everyone said they tested well and didnā€™t want to get out of the beds. The quality of sheets that were provided were top notch! And that is another thing that my husband and I are particular about is sheet quality. The only thing I would add is a portable fireplace to the master on the Too Floor. The temp in there is only comfortable if you turn the heat on like 78 in the living area. Which is a problem if you have guest in that space then they will be too hot. The house views of the pond and Ocean are good.. not right on the beach.. but you know itā€™s there. Simply beautiful!! We definitely plan to rent this beautiful home again!!
