Also just minutes from a well-known landmark that supposedly got its name as a popular horse racing spot. Spectators would climb to the highest dunes to view the races below—what we now call Jockey's Ridge. Visitors climb to the top, fly kites, and even hang glide from this unbelievable sand dune formed by Mother Nature.

    Accessibility-Friendly Features: The Good Life offers an elevator for access to all levels of the home. The lower-level master bedroom does not have wide door frames or a roll-in shower.

    Ground Level: Rec room w/pool table, wet bar w/card table and 4 chairs, full-size refrigerator, TV/DVD/stereo, exercise room w/treadmill, king master, pyramid bunk master w/trundle, half bath w/access to the pool area.

    Mid Level: Laundry room w/washer and dryer, master bedroom w/2 twins, TV/DVD, king master w/balcony w/ocean views, TV, king master w/balcony w/ocean views, TV, king master w/Jacuzzi tub only, TV, balcony w/ocean views, queen master w/TV, balcony w/ocean views.

Excellent property, right in the beach. We had lots of fun.4 stars because there were NO essentials such as TP, basic kitchen cleaning supplies, trash bags etc. provided.

Wonderful outdoor space

This property has a wonderful outdoor space. It is dog friendly and has a dog play area. The pool and hot tub space are great. Easy access to beach makes morning walks easy.

The weather was great.Didnt need to contact management for anything.Some TV remote batteries and light bulbs needed replacing. Not worth raising a fuss. We simply bought some and replaced them.

The week was cool for June but we had paid for the pool to be heated and it was a perfect temperature. My only complaint would be that some of the tvs on the 1st and 2nd floor didn't work. Overall a great house and a wonderful vacation.

The location and amenities (pool/hot tub) were first rate. However,the dishwashers were not up to speed leaving mounds of water to wipe up when unloading. The kitchen was well stocked. The trash pick up and check out time directions contradicted themselves but we figured it out. I would stay here again!

Many, many emails and texts from the management company on details of checkin/checkout. Did not respond to texts, but did answer when called. Though the home was discounted for the offfseason, I hoped the home would have been a little better maintained.

We were a party of 13 and the dogs and had a wonderful time! Kitchen is well stocked! It was too cool too use the pool this time, but the hot tub was really nice! Would recommend the Good Life! We went on the Wild Horse Adventure tour, and saw lots of horses and two babies. Went on the Magic Bus and saw 8 bears! Went to Dirty Dicks and Jolly Rogers for dinner! Can't wait to stay here again in the future!

One of the refrigerators doesn’t keep food cold. It works on and off and lets food get ruined and unsafe to eat. That refrigerator NEEDS to be replaced!! The hvac vents/filters need to be cleaned.We had a nice stay, but would never rent this house again with that faulty refrigerator.I would only recommend this property if I knew the bad refrigerator was replaced. Doesn’t stay cold or freeze ice

Over all A Wonderful Vacation

A few little things that we noticed, the Pool Table couldn't be used, as a couple of the pockets were not there. The foosball table wasn't usable, because one the rods wasn't working correctly. It hasn't been usable on any of our stays. Because the beds are high in some of rooms, one of our party, was hoping they would put a chair in the room. Also, no way to control the speed of the fan in one the 2nd level bedrooms. All and all, it was a wonderful time at the Good Life. Upon checking into the house, we were able to meet the house Owner. She is very pleasant, and really liked our Shelties! My favorite house in OBX!

A little let down, expectations were not met

Kitchen is meant to be used (double everything) no place to store items, needs a pantry. 1 of the fridgs is either too cold or warm, stove fans have no filters, smoke just rolls out, not hot pads provided to protect laminate tops. tile shower has no shelves, have to put personal items on floor, house needs a deep cleaning, duct tape used to fix broken floor tiles. Roaches on first floor, pool deck coming unattached (watch your step) no place to put umbrellas around very hot pool deck, other decks are a hazard (old & rotting), handrails are unsafe to put hands on (6 of the guest got spinsters). Layout good, location great, clean poor, parking great. For the money spent expectations were not met.

Reviewer Comments: At first, we thought the house was just “tired” since it was the end of the season. Then, as we unloaded and unpacked, we realized it wasn’t clean - and parts hadn’t been cleaned for weeks (like handrails). The sheets had not been changed and had hair and stains. There were about 8 real glasses and all the rest were cheap plastic- even the wineglasses! The pool was dirty and I don’t think it was cleaned while we were there. Called the propert company the first day about cleaning and sheets and was told owner used a private company. Won’t rent this house or any other with the same owner again.

Reviewer Comments: We rented this house for two weeks to hold our friends and our family for our Nags Head wedding. The condition of the house was terrible. There was sand all over the windows and hot tub was not working well. Also, the furniture is outdated and in need of repairs. The sofa corner had a piece of metal sticking out that actually cut one of our family members. The worst part was the first night when we discovered a mouse in the house. There were also mouse droppings on the top floor bedroom sheet. Horrible. We wanted the house rental to be an annual trip, but there is no way we are going back there. Shame on the owners for not keeping up with the house.

2023 Family Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: House is in a perfect location. Great beach access and bar/restaurant across the street. Easy keyless access, worked great. Elevator was easy to use and in perfect condition. Plenty of beds/rooms for everyone in our group, and each had en-suit bathrooms which was great! Living room/kitchen area were spacious, plenty of seating, plenty of counter space- and two full size fridges was a bonus! The pool was heated and private, and the hot tub was great (not as pictured through, the hot tub does not have a little canopy over it ). Our family was in the pool every day of this trip- was perfect. I do have to say, the house was not cleaned thoroughly. Kitchen counters were sticky, crumbs from old guests on the dining room rug, one of the ovens was really dirty and we didn’t use in case of starting a fire- as well as random socks hanging on the railing to the beach and under furniture in the house. Outdoor kitchen area was not cleaned at all including a trash can still full from the last guests. The area was recently hit with hurricane storms- so this is unlikely to be a recurring problem, however, for our stay- The basement smelled badly of mold and was damp, including the basement bedrooms. Despite those hiccups, our family did have a nice vacation here.

Nice House

And the big kitchen for all of us with 2 frigs and stove.The AC Upstairs took until middle of week to get fixed it was soooo Hot. But finally came 3 rd time to fix the main issue. Showers in some of bedrooms were small and slippery hard to get in and some just a tub no shower. But we worked it out.Saw a roach on middle floor turned us off a little might need a good cleaning and spray down the crawlers. Beds were hard as a rock would recommend little foam mattress on them . Over all pretty house and spacious. Pool was great and hot tub. Stairs to beach is rough if have handicapped people not able to get out. But saw Dolphins every morning from top Deck. Furniture could be replaced has stains on it. And recommend a nice recliner for people who can’t sleep in the beds. There was none. Or a chair especially in the bedrooms nowhere to sit down. Overall it was nice for our big group with a few problems.Thank you!

Reviewer Comments: We were the first of our party to arrive and we delighted to discover no one still cleaning up at 4 pm and the combination sent us by Beach Realty opened the door right up. The elevator got us and luggage upstairs and we settled in on the top floor which offers a wonderful view of the ocean, dunes, a local pier and a huge vista of sky. Lots of windows and lots of porch and deck space with plenty of chairs. The living area provides seating for even large groups (we had only seven people). The kitchen is well equipped, with two refrigerators, two stoves, two microwaves and even an air fryer. Rooms were comfortable and beds were just firm enough for a great night’s sleep. All had bath, shower or a combination. The game/recreation area on the lower floor offered pool, fussball, tv and dvd viewing. Also another refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. Swimming pool was already warmed. Everyone in our group commented on how comfortable the home was. House was clean and the Wi-Fi worked well. While we like trying different places, this would be a home we’d recommend and would happily return to.Was there a downside? We are all wine drinkers and found the plastic wine glasses deprived us of some of the pleasure of drinking a good bottle. Some of the sliding doors were very difficult to open and would benefit from lubrication. We didn’t watch tv but would have appreciated regular cable or satellite service instead of ROKU on all sets. HINT: If you’re a tv watcher, bring your Prime and Yahoo passwords.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location and great layout of the house. Only issue we had is that we received a text saying the house was ready at 5:30pm. Upon arrival the cleaners were still there working. We had to wait another 45 minutes to an hour to unload our cars.
