The Duck Inn is an Ocean-Side South Nags Head Rental Home that is the third home back from the ocean!  The very close proximity to the Atlantic allows for a quick walk to the beach and sunbathing on the deck to the sounds and views of the ocean.  And being located in South Nags Head means relatively less crowded beaches than that of the commercial areas in Nags Head and KDH, yet this OBX rental home is only a few minutes drive to these locations, with a variety of restaurants, shopping, and more!

This Outer Banks rental home offers bedding arrangements to accommodate a variety of family sizes, and is also two homes back from one of our six bedroom ocean-front rental homes, 600 Viento, allowing for a multi-home rental on the same street to accommodate larger gatherings.

The Duck Inn provides an open great room for family gatherings, top-floor loft for smaller groups to congregate, bedrooms with immediate bathroom access, furnished deck and two balconies, ocean views, high-speed WiFi, charcoal grill, enclosed outside shower, laundry area, and more! This home was created for the beach enthusiast who wants to vacation to the serenity of the ocean.

Being located in South Nags Head, this home is only minutes from sites like the Bodie Island Lighthouse, Oregon Inlet, and 4x4 beaches, while the commercial area of Nags Head is only minutes away, offering a wide variety of restaurants, golf (including miniature golf), an outlet mall, water sports, and so much more!

** To keep rental costs down, this OBX home does not provide linens. However, a linen package can be provided for an extra fee. Please contact Cove Realty of Nags Head for more information on this home's linen rental package. Also, Cove Realty is a Green company that limits excessive waste.  As such, linens, toiletry items, cleaning supplies, and so forth, are not supplied at the rental home, so please be mindful to bring these with you or be ready to purchase upon arrival to the Outer Banks.

The house is only about 200ft to the beach and the private road is paved right up to it. The house was a little sandy when we arrived but hey your at the beach what do you expect. We would definitely stay here again

Good location

The home itself was quite easy to find. Quite street with around 9 homes on it. If you've got a 1500 pickup truck or SUV/Car you should have no problem parking under the home in the little garage port and then you'd still have room for two more vehicles outside on the concrete. I'm not sure about the sandy lot towards the sound side of the property, we didn't need to use it and I'm not sure if it's a part of this rental. Beach access is fantastic, just walk to the end of the street and you're there! The only 'issue' we ran into with this is that the home at the end of the street, where the access runs next to, is a rental as well and a few of the renters parked their cars blocking the access point to where you could walk through but you'd have to lift any cooler or beach chairs up to shoulder height to fit. Perhaps the renters thought it was only their access point, but from the literature in this rental, that's the beach access for the whole street. The beds were great in this property. No bedding is provided unless you sign up for their bedding package, we chose not to. You'll need your own TP, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap and water as soon as you get to this property. The fridge was a good size, one ice cube tray may be a bit lax for big groups, but it worked fine for the two of us. Kitchen was big, nice dining area is attached with its own fan/light. One thing that I noticed is that nearly all of the rooms have water damage in them. You can see that the area’s around the sliding doors towards the ocean have had water leaking around them and at least one of the sky lights leaked enough that it ran down the ceiling and over the edge of the loft area. That being said, nothing seemed to be leaking while we stayed there but leaves to question, what about the possibility of mold? It seems as though covid has effected this area and lots of people have either moved to the area or are staying in the area on extended vacations or seasonal living. This trend has effected a lot of areas across the US but here's what it means for your vacation stay: 1)The normally quiet streets getting to and from things in the area may be extremely busy. 2)Limited hours of local restaurants due to low staffing (students are back in school) and with the high number of people in the area wait times are in the 1hour range on a weeknight. 3)With many normal summer activities closed for the season, others are packed with visitors.

OBX Fall 2020

Location does not save dated interior & furniture. Property was not cleaned to Covid-19 standards. Home was not secure, due to the main level deck's broken sliding door handle & lock while being assessable from street level. We provided property manager with the issues along with pictures; but we did not want to be further inconvenienced by multiple cleaning & maintenance visits to fix the inexcusable issues.
