Christmas Visit

Stayed with family to visit our brother and sister-in-law. House was a great gathering place, we saw so many dolphins and even whales right out the windows while staying warm playing board games. Not to mention all the fun we had walking the beach. We'll be back!

Great place

A great place, but some things are not good . Grill was change to a gas grill and it was said to have a charcoal grill and we brought charcoal. The ice machine did not work, and the dishwasher has not been cleaned and had slime and black mold in it, had to hand wash all dishes we used. Many of the dishes in the cabinets and drawers along with flatware we washed before using because they were greasy or food residue on them. Most bar stools were loose and about to break. Sand dune are high and rough to get over if you have bad knees, no where was it listed or said big dunes.

Lovely big house on the Ocean with a crow’s nest view

We had a nice week at the Ocean. This house was comfortable for a large group. The deck and views were fantastic. The location was terrific. We enjoyed sitting out on the main deck. The lower level was fun for games and hanging out at the bar.

The place was ok but the location was not. Says it’s oceanfront and it was but had no beach access. Had to walk down a muddy road to the beach access.

OBX Family Vacation

The house was very comfortable for our group of 12. The oceanfront location is gorgeous and it is the absolute best thing about the house. We enjoyed being able to just walk out to the beach at any time. The beach was never crowded! There was beach gear (chairs, umbrella) downstairs which was very convenient. The upstairs has been partially updated but the downstairs has not but we spent most of our time upstairs and on the decks. Overall a very enjoyable week!

Beautiful spot right on the beach

This is a great spot, with excellent views of the ocean from the 2nd floor deck and from the crow's nest. Just walk out the door and over the dunes and find a place to set up at the edge of the water. The beds were comfortable; good water pressure in the showers and the hot water lasted through almost a dozen people showering over the course of an hour. The family room overlooking the ocean was spacious enough to fit us all. The rental company was quick to act on the weekend when we requested gas for the grill, and we had no other need to contact them. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare elaborate meals, and there were plenty of beach chairs, beach toys, and umbrellas to borrow without renting. We had 4 couples, 1 elderly family member, an infant and two young adults with us. Any large group who'd like to rent should know that the 3 upstairs bedrooms are much bigger, brighter, and well-appointed than the lower level rooms, which had the feel of being in a cabin. It's a very cool basement, with a pool table and a bar and a nice bathroom. But those of us who had to stay in the basement really envied the people upstairs who had the brighter and more modern rooms. Definitely a great place for those who have teens or younger kids, who'd appreciate a space of their own.

Wake up to dolphins every day!

The house was perfect for my getaway. There was plenty of space for all of us so we never felt on top of each other. The windows in the living room gave the best view in the morning and the deck was perfect for lounging in the shade. I appreciated there being 3 full baths plus the outside shower. I never understand why these giant houses have a billion bedrooms and so few bathrooms. The kitchen was stocked with every pot/pan/bowl you could ever need. It would have been nice if standard things like salt, pepper, butter, and sugar were available. The included linen package was a plus though and the washer/dryer came in handy. The stair tamer was a nice bonus for getting things up and down from the "main floor". It was a hefty dune to get up/down to the beach but you're on the beach...that's all that matters. I loved the house and would happily stay here again.

This place has everything and more!

This property was so amazing to stay, we already reserved our family week for next year! There was a small electrical problem when we first arrived, but it was resolved within 24 hours of arrival. There are plenty of bedrooms and space for a big family week vacation. The kitchen is fully stocked! It was a little bit difficult to organize everyone's cars as the house is down a very small one lane road and the parking space is not great for larger vehicles. We played musical cars almost every day, but so worth it for the location. I wish the property was keyless entry as well, but it wasn't too difficult to coordinate who had the keys when my family separated to do different things each day. We will continue to rent this place for sure!

Perfect oceanfront getaway

We loved this property the view was the best part! The kitchen and common living area was spacious and accommodated everybody we had a great time with family and would definitely come back!!!
