"This was amazing! Great staff, great location AND there's even a swimming hole (5 min walk, if that) with a waterfall! I've never stayed in a shared house before, but this one has spoiled me! It's close enough to be able to drive to all the good tourist spots. Oh, and hopefully you're there for the "big" farmers market on Saturdays. If I get back to the Big Island I'll be coming back here! Thank you for the great time!"

"We loved this place so much-it was perfect for tucking in and recovering fr jet lag, with some adventures on the side. It’s a ways fr Hilo and traffic (at least when we were driving) was a lot, but once we got food we loved using it as an outpost. The 5-6 mile round trip hike to shipman’s beach is long, but the payoff is incredible. The trailhead is just a minute drive from the house. Paradise Cliffs is also a beautiful overlook just a 20 minute walk down beach road. So much good stuff so...

"We unfortunately were not able to stay at this property due to the lack of air conditioning. We reasonably expected some form of A/C given the warm and humid climate, but this was not mentioned in the listing.Because of medical conditions, air conditioning is a requirement for us, not just a preference. Upon arrival, it became clear we could not safely remain in the room and had to leave shortly after checking in.That said, communication with the host was excellent. Andy was responsive, kind,...

"Nice clean room in a unique rainforest like setting. Hosts were lovely and provided coffee, tea, hot chocolate, ramen, oatmeal, fresh fruit and a delicious homemade banana bread! The location was very peaceful and we enjoyed listening to nature at night. We were also very close to Volcano National Park!"

"Absolutely lovely property at the very top of a hill overlooking Hilo waterfront. The owners are very friendly and helpful if you need them. Otherwise, you never know they’re there. Perfect get away. Close to everything."
