Sorry that you had trouble checking in, Walter. We offer a very convenient self-check-in process to our guests so that they can go straight to their room. We are also on call 24/7 to help if needed. We also have electronic locks with detailed instructions for easy access. I'm glad our team could quickly come over to help you enter your code. We hope that the character and charm of staying in a house originally built in 1877 outweighs some floor creaks. This is the first complaint that we have had in over 3000 stays regarding this issue. The Gardenia suite is one of the nicest on the property, so seeing a 3 star review is definitely out of the ordinary (especially if it’s just because the suite is on the second level). For future reference, please check in with us and we would be happy to move you to a ground level suite. It seems that you were happy with us otherwise and we’d welcome you back anytime :)

In no way is Carriage House a converted garage. It was build with the intention of housing 3 studio units and one 2 bedroom unit, which it does. Our pictures and descriptions are very clear of what to expect from our rooms. I recommend not leaving bad reviews out of spite that you were unhappy with your room choice. The Carriage House (not cottage) offers a little more privacy than the main house. Some guest prefer this and some do not. We gave you the code to the Main House out of kindness so that you could explore the grounds. We did not think you’d use that as a way to compare the room that you chose to other rooms on the property.

Wow! I'm so very sorry Kimala, this is definitely not our usual experience, if you read our reviews you can see hundreds of 5 star ratings and 99% of our guests love their stay. I immediately sent you a personalized guidebook when you booked that detailed how to use the AC and the TV, among many other things, but it seems you never read it. The property is historic and was built in 1877, so the design is not intended to be modern; even so, the overwhelming majority of our previous guests have loved their stay, as you can see in the reviews. You did not contact me even once, or I would have immediately done everything possible to bring your stay to 5 stars, but you did not reach out. So we are both equally disappointed, as I take your happiness very seriously. In fact, we just won an award for Best Lodging in Mt Dora yesterday. Truly an honor.
