Jefferson's Best

I loved this place. Did not know it was a B&B but the place was very quite and charming. The room was great as well. I will definitely be back and when I showed pictures of the place to friends, they want to stay there too.

Nice place to stay to get away from the stress. Homemade breakfast in morning and a wonderful campfire at night. The caretaker will even come out with guitar

Inn keeper was excellent. Plenty of coffee, tea, wine cookies available all the time in the lobby. He also serenaded us at night (with our permission). Had the fire pit all ready (it was rainy so could us it) and the porch sitting area was great!

Two weekends in Jefferson

I’ve stayed at the Steamboat for two weekends now, this last time I brought my parents along. It’s a very cozy B&B and I felt very at home. The host for my visit is a friendly guy and makes a great breakfast. The location is walking distance from downtown and just far enough away to avoid being up all night because of the trains running through town. This is where I’ll be staying for my future visits to Jefferson.

Nice stay

It was like staying with a friend. You had to do some minor things you don't normally do. Staff was friendly. We would go back.

not for me

too worn looking, overly cluttered and just not a place I wanted to spend the night, so I left ( but paid for 2 nights). no streetlights and I did not want to leave my car on the curb. just wasn't for me.

The Perfect Escape

I stayed with my husband and 8 year old son in April 2018. We had a really good couple of nights. It's peaceful, clean, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The Innkeeper David was the perfect host. The hotel is situated a walk away from almost all the town's restaurants and shops. Parking and wifi are free. The breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. You feel a million miles away from city chaos here. The Steamboat Inn has a very homely feel. I would stay again and recommend to others.

Cute B&B But Needs Some TLC

The Steamboat Inn was a sweet little B&B about 2 blocks from downtown Jefferson, Texas. The location is wonderful, set back in a quiet little neighborhood with beautiful historic homes. While the gentleman who greeted us was extremely nice, we were a bit concerned with both the preparedness of the staff and the overall condition of the property. The property is in need of some general maintenance/upkeep. The property appears to be "For Sale", and this may explain why management may be hesitant to put any more work into the business. I should also mention that the B&B is located near very active train tracks and the train horn was almost constant. However, given that this is a very small town, it is probably difficult to escape the train noise.

The Steamboat Inn is Good for any Passenger

Wonderful B&B with a warm downhome feel. Located within a short walking distance to all Jefferson attractions. The food is superb and there is always coffee and tea available. Highly recommend.

Great Location for Great Times

This is a nice place and is perfect for those who want to rent several rooms for a group of friends. Room was very clean. Noise carries a bit in the building, so if you don't like sounds, you might need to prepare yourself. The staff was easy to communicate with. Great location that is walkable to all Jefferson shops and restaurants.

Wonderful B&B!

Perfect location in Jefferson, wonderful breakfast, Diamond Bessie room very comfortable for two women travelers, queen bed and a comfortable daybed.

We loved our stay at the steamboat inn! Kristin couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Breakfast was hot and delicious and the room was full of interesting decor. We were in walking distance of all the action. And Clara was a big hit with our son.

No staff were there. I met the owner when I got there. No food, she was going out of town. Front door did not lock I did not feel safe. She was nice, place was nice but I think I should have been told while I was booking that the front door did not lock.

Pleasant B&B in a charming small town

It was a charming little B&B with a very attentive owner. While we were there the weather was very hot, humid, and altogether uncomfortable (east Texas in July; go figure) but the room was very comfortable and clean. We would stay there again without question.
