Disappointed Stay – Not What We Expected
We recently stayed at South Point Hotel in Las Vegas and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. While the pool was nice and one of the only kid-friendly areas on the property which our 4-year-old enjoyed everything else about our stay fell short of expectations.
When booking online, I specifically chose a room with a view because our child always looks forward to that. However, when we checked in, the room with the view had a broken door lock. Instead of fixing it or moving us to another room with a view, we were placed down the hall in a room that smelled odd and had no view just a wall right outside the window.
I called the front desk to report the smell, and they moved us again. Unfortunately, the next room still had no view and faced noisy generators and vents. The constant humming and mechanical noise made it extremely difficult to relax, and the bathroom sink made a loud draining sound every time it was used.
When I spoke with the hotel manager, there was no real apology or attempt to make things right. The only response was that they’d send maintenance and remove the resort fee. While the maintenance staff was friendly, they weren’t able to fix the issue.
Overall, we didn’t get any sleep due to the disturbing noises, and we left feeling very let down. For a hotel of this size and reputation, I expected better service and more care for guests, especially families. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
