Great place to decompress !
Clean, quiet, comfy place. If you like nature this is for you! Got the best rest ever there. Owners are gems. Got to meet their fur family! Highly recommended if you want peace n quiet. Beautiful area

What a great stay!
We had a lot of fun during this stay. Tracy and Jim were amazing hosts who welcomed us and made us feel at home. We enjoyed seeing all the farm animals and appreciated all the wonderful decor. Everything was available in the cottage and we slept peacefully and woke up to sounds of animals. The local restaurants had great food and it was nice to walk around the farm and downtown. We will come back again!

Quiet, warm and remote
Jim and Tracy have an amazing cabin, it is very rustic and quaint but also comfortable. Perfect for a few quiet days. The location is remote and the last mile or so are in dirt road so be careful when picking your vehicle to bring, but it is worth it. The cabin has all the basics for cooking and the town is 15 mins away if there is a something missing. I know we definitely be returning here in fall.

Perfect Stay for the Cold
We stayed here over a cold and snowy weekend and it was perfect. The cabin was warm and cozy, with a beautiful view of the pond. Jim and Tracy were wonderful hosts who took the time to show us the animals. We would absolutely stay again!

Fantastic Cottage
We had such a relaxing and comfortable stay! The hosts were very gracious and welcoming and showed us around the house and property. We got to meet the horses, goats, and swans and were given fresh chicken eggs, which were delicious. The kitchen was well stocked, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the cottage was cozy with a great view of the pond. Overall, this was a great place to spend the long holiday weekend and we'd highly recommend this guest cottage.

Peaceful and cozy
This cottage is so cozy and peaceful! Jim and Tracy were the most friendly, helpful hosts. The master bed is SO comfortable, I wanted to take the mattress home with me! I enjoyed exploring the area by car, but also taking walks down the lane as it's a very quiet, tranquil dirt road with lovely scenery. It was a joy to see the animals every day, just going about their business! There is a great back porch facing the woods where you can just wind down and listen to the wind in the trees. There is a decent market/grocery store just a few miles away (Preston's Country Market). It's small, but it had everything I needed. My only suggestions would be to add a box or two of tissues around the cabin, as I didn't see any. And the internet connection is very unstable and was dropping constantly. Hopefully that can be fixed! Thank you so much for sharing your home and hospitality!

My family had a fabulous weekend on the farm! It is beautiful, quiet and the house is very comfortable. We enjoyed meeting the animals and taking in the nature. We hope to visit again this summer.

Amazing and quiet getaway
This place is perfect if you’re looking to disconnect from the busy life. Despite a rainout weekend, there was still plenty to do. We enjoyed watching the animals around the farm and the kitchen has everything+ you need to cook some meals. We had fresh eggs in the fridge when we arrived and made a great breakfast. Haycock isn’t far away with a grocery store and some amazing views of the river with some public access fishing spots. Definitely a must book place and we cannot wait to go back!

Very nice and peaceful
Very peaceful, very quiet, and very secluded. If you are looking for a place secluded without a bunch of cabins around you, this is it. The only other people around at all were the owners, Jim and Tracy. The place was very clean and comfortable. I went in February when it snowed. I’m sure it is even more beautiful during the warmer months. You won’t be disappointed if you stay however, if you plan on making a trip during the winter months, I would strongly recommend you have an AWD or 4WD vehicle and a vehicle that does not sit low. Dirt/mud roads with some ruts and potholes for the last couple of miles to the cabin and if it snows you will have a really hard time getting in or out without it.

Cozy & Relaxing Getaway
The cabin was cute and warm despite the bitter cold outside! It was clean and stocked with some food staples, as well as games (including Uno, Jenga, and Clue) that we enjoyed! Jim and Tracy were great hosts and always replied quickly. They introduced us to their farm animals and even gave us a lot of eggs to take home! Very sweet people. The cabin has a DirecTV satellite which works well, but if you’d like to watch streaming services you’ll have to bring your own laptop or something. Be advised that you have to drive a few miles down a dirt road that’s quite bumpy at times. If your car is low to the ground, it could be a problem. My Honda Civic made it though. All in all this is a great place to come and take it easy for a few days!

Wonderfully Away
Life moves at a different speed here. Sit. Watch the two swans drift across the pond. Sip your coffee by the goats, listening to Jim & Tracy’s wit & wisdom. Honesdale is lovely (and Moka coffee makes a mean mocha), but we enjoyed our moments of stillness the most. This is the speed humans were meant to go. If you’re wishing you could pause the world to catch your breath for a moment, this is a great place to stay.

Amazing and relaxing country retreat!
Absolutely perfect stay for a relaxing and quiet girls getaway. Cottage was clean and cozy with a real country feel. Tracy and Jim were fabulous hosts and their farm is amazing. Beautiful secluded location
My family stayed at the Windy Pond cabin for a long weekend. Mainly we wanted to see the fall foliage in the area. Using the cabin as a base, we explored in different directions each day, driving about an hour. The cabin is spacious on the inside, which gave the 4 of us room to spread out. Our kids slept in the bunk bed nook on the main level one night and in the lost the next 2 nights. The bed downstairs was comfortable and it was nice to have a second bathroom. Meeting Jim and Tracy's farm animals was a bonus!

Wonderful getaway
Jim and Tracy were wonderful hosts. Everything about the experience was listed online as part of the booking process, and all the 5-star reviews are justified. This is the place to get away from it all. There is just enough there between the pond, animals, and property to make you feel at home but this is a place for an opportunity to unplug from everything and recharge! We went during the fall, and the leaves were starting to turn, making the environment and drive there very enjoyable. You can tell the cabin is set up for all seasons, however. Highly recommend!

Superb!
The cottage was so clean and comfortable, and the property was beautiful. It was such a peaceful setting. If you love nature and animals, this is the place for you. The hosts, Jim and Tracy are wonderful people. They gave us a lovely tour of the farm let us meet the animals, and patiently answered all our questions. It was very apparent that they love these animals and take excellent care of them. This was my second visit, and I hope to return for another. Jim and Tracy make homemade goat milk soap that is great for dry skin. I highly recommend it. This is a great place! Highly recommended.

A quiet weekend away
Jim and Tracy have a fantastic, secluded property and were wonderful hosts. My wife and I were greeted by Jim and Tracy upon our arrival, and were given a tour of the property. They introduced us to their swans, chickens, mules, horse, dogs, and (most importantly to my wife) the goats! The cabin was perfect for a weekend away, and can easily sleep 6-8 people. The pictures of the cabin on VRBO don’t do the it justice, as it is much brighter and larger than it appears online. During our weekend stay, Jim and Tracy provided us with fresh eggs and raspberries, which were delicious. The cabin came equipped with air conditioning, a full kitchen, DirecTV and Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi connection wasn’t very strong, but was sufficient for what we needed to do. The property is a 5-10 minute drive from the town of Hancock, NY, where you will find a grocery store, Walgreens, McDonalds, Dollar General, gas station, and liquor store. Jim and Tracy included some rules for the property, including a respectful request for quiet time starting at 10:00 pm, as they wake early to care for the animals. All in all it was a fantastic weekend away. We plan on returning again with the kids, and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. Thanks again to Jim and Tracy for a wonderful stay.

Relax and Enjoy
Upon our arrival we were greeted by the welcoming committee...a party of 3 farm ducks... and Jim. The location is quiet and relaxing. The cabin was spacious and allowed us privacy given the bedrooms were on the top floor and in the basement. The main floor is living space with a nice kitchen and plenty of space for the four of us. Everything was clean. Tracy and Jim were great hosts. We contacted them a couple of times during our stay about minor questions we had and they always responded promptly and with a quick solution. They also gave us a tour of the farm and we got to meet all of the animals and learn about the rescues they have done. However, the main focus of our trip was to fish. We chose this location because it was only a few miles from the river and it was spacious and quiet. If you plan to eat out, you will need to drive 25-30 minutes to get to good restaurants. There is a great ice cream place just a few miles away and they do serve food. We highly recommend you visit Roscoe and Livingston Manor for dining options. It will also give you the opportunity to check out some of the local attractions. The great part of this location is that you can spend the whole time relaxing or you can combine that with visits to some of the other area attractions and good food. We had a great stay and will definitely return.

Wonderful stay
This was our 3rd time staying at Windy Pond Farm. Our hosts were wonderful as usual. The property is tucked away so it's very peaceful and quiet. Honesdale is a 30 minute drive and a nicer little town to visit in the area. Highly recommend and would definitely come back.

Cute Cabin
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the cabin/cottage at the Windy Pond Farm. Each morning I made breakfast and woke up to the sound of adorable ducks who curiously wanted to see what we were up to. The cabin was clean, fresh towels and bedding were provided, and the farm is so peaceful! Great experience and would recommend to stay here if traveling in the area.

Perfect place for a girls’ getaway
Two of my high school friends and I chose this location as a midpoint between our three homes and our stay couldn’t have been better. The cottage was impeccably clean, with a well-appointed kitchen and 3 different sleeping spots (a loft, a master bedroom downstairs, and bunk beds in the kitchen.) It overlooks a pond with these amazing ducks and swans! Hancock, the nearest town, has the basics and some cute shops we enjoyed poking around in. As a destination for a low-key, no fuss vacation this could not have been better—thank you Tracy and Jim!

A Piece of Paradise on Earth
Stunning scenery, cute house with all that was necessary, uniquely decorated, and situated in a large property with a view (and access) to a pond that was right in front, among the farm the woods and the evergreens . Generous and kind hosts who were discreet but right there when you needed them. They offered us to come a night earlier at no extra charge to avoid traveling in the storm that was coming the day we were supposed to check in, or a full refund if we wanted to cancel last minute. We decided to go one night early, and we didn't regret it. A basket of fresh eggs was in the fridge, which we enjoyed the next morning for breakfast. The kids loved seeing and petting the animals in the farm. It was beautiful, relaxing and our kids didn't want to leave. We want to return in the spring or summer time.

This was an amazing place to stay not only was it very beautiful, noise free and very clean. Our host and hostess were wonderful. My girlfriend and I look forward to staying at this cabin again. I highly recommend it.

From the cozy cabin to the farm fresh eggs waiting in the fridge, Windy Pond's guest cottage exceeded all of our expectations for a wonderful and relaxing winter getaway. Tracy and Jim were lovely! We enjoyed meeting the mules, goats and swans and an added thank you for the goat milk soap! Even without an agenda, we highly recommend. Includes all of the amenities you need to make it a home away from home.

Beautiful, scenic, and clean
This is one the best properties I have stayed on this far using services like this. The property is exactly as explained and honestly the photos don’t do it justice. The cottage is beautifully kept and has all you need, plus it gets nice and toasty (it dropped to -9 while there and we were super warm). The hosts are so nice and invited us to see the animals (sadly we missed out but we are definitely coming back). You get wonderful privacy and still the hosts are simply a message away. Also not far from skiing. Recommend to anyone looking for a nice getaway.
