Pool + Steps to beach - Relaxation at its Best!

Welcome to Chateau Relaxo!! About a 5 minute walk, through a quiet neighborhood, to private beach access!! This is a 5 bedroom beach cottage with wrap around decks, immaculate landscaping, and large private pool! This is also recently remodeled with all new interior paint, light fixtures, flooring, and furniture.

The home features:

• Private in ground pool. Pool is not open year round and is closed approximately Oct-May. Please contact before booking if there are any questions.
• Open Layout in the third-floor living area
• Short walk to beach access and features a number of sun and shade decks to enjoy ocean and sound breezes.

• The home is in a quiet neighborhood of Wild Duck Dunes and is a short drive, bike ride, or long walk to the center of the Duck dining and shopping.

• Half bathroom
• Family room with couch, and Smart TV
• Mini bar
• Full size refrigerator
• Washer and Dryer
• Direct access to pool

Level 2:

4 Bedrooms + a shared full bathroom
• Queen bed with ensuite bathroom, deck access
• Queen bed + deck access
• Double/full bed + deck access
• Twin over full of bunk bed + TV and deck access

Level 3:
• Master bedroom with a King bed and en-suite bathroom + deck access
• Open Living area with TV + top deck access
• Screened porch access
• Dining area
• Powder Room – ½ Bathroom

• Beds 1 King; 2 Queens; 1 Double/full; Twin over double Bunk Beds
• Private in Ground Pool
• Outdoor shower - Note: due to a quirk with the VRBO software, the outdoor shower is counted as a bathroom. This is a 5 bathroom house (3 full, 2 half) with the 6th "bathroom" being the outdoor shower.
• Highspeed wireless Internet Access
• 5 minute walk to the beach
• No Smoking
• No Pets

Please note that occasionally, some pools in Dare and Currituck Counties may experience a mild ground current. Generally, this is not caused by a pool defect or the household electrical system but appears as a result of the earth’s own natural electrical current. Certain properties may be affected more than others and the current trends to be intermittent in nature.

Also note:
Guest must sign rental agreement. Security deposit required up to $500.
There are outside cameras on the property that are utilized during the off season - these will be turned off during your stay.

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay. It was perfectly set up for an extended family vacation with bedrooms and bathrooms on several levels. We especially appreciated the alarm on the pool entrance door as we had a toddler with us. The beach access is perfect and the host provided a beach wagon and chairs.Will certainly recommend this host to my friends. Thank you

We had a great stay despite Hurricane Erin keeping us out of the ocean for a few days. Location is near downtown Duck and only a short walk to the beach. Would stay here again.

Just Ducky at Chateau Relaxo

This property is a perfect beach house. It was so great to have so many beach chairs and a short walk to a beautiful beach. Chateau Relaxo has comfy beds and great bath towels. My only suggestion would be for renters to rent bikes to ride into the Duck Village center. Had a great vacay!

We had a nice stay and property is nice. There were a few issues, but we adjusted. The property lists as sleeping 10 which is accurate but it has limited parking. The parking will accommodate only 3 cars,4 if they are small cars. They posted signs saying "Do not Park on the Grass" which we respected. We were fortunate due to a family friend having a place near by where we could park some of our cars. There is space on the right of the property which could be easily be converted to parking with little impact to the property. I would highly suggest advising of the parking limitations in the listing. The listing advised that linens would be provided for each bed. The Master bedroom did not have any towels provided. I am sure this was an error on the cleaning crew. We ended up using our beach towels. I sent an email earlier with some questions to the property manager, but did not get a response. Suggest a phone number to reach the property manager. The property has some age but is in good shape. It needs a few small item attentions, both in and out. a few minor scratches and tile pealing. The cleaning service should wipe down the painted surfaces such as hand rails and doors which could easily be wiped down. The kitchen is small, but well equipped. There was a second fridge in the lowest level which was great to have. Suggest an instruction book on some of the appliances. It would have been nice to have an extra TP in the bathrooms.

Best place yet! Everything as advertised. Only downside difficulty experienced is hassles getting the TV to be friendly. Maybe because we’re “boomers”, had difficulty getting morning news and so on. Could have used an alert to bring passwords for streaming services.

A perfect week

We had an amazing time at Chateau Relaxo! The house was clean, nicely furnished with enough room for 2 families. The weather was perfect, the street is quiet, but close enough to activities if you’d like. The property manager/owner was super helpful and responsive.

Close to the beach

The home was within walking distance to the beach. It was also supplied with Beach shares, etc. which made it easy for us. It’s a short drive to the town of Duck or a short bike ride. It’s a nice beautiful location on a quiet street. They were plenty of Kitchen supplies which I loved. I also appreciate you having a hairdryer! Thanks for the great stay!

Family-Friendly Stay with Great Pool and Beach Access

Our family enjoyed a summer stay at Chateau Relaxo, and it was perfect for a gaggle of small kids (6 kids ages 7 years - 18 months) and their parents. The pool was a definite highlight, providing endless fun for our kids who spent every possible minute splashing around. It was private and well maintained, and the outdoor shower and direct access from the lower level was super convenient. There was a child alarm on the door so we didn’t have to worry about any of the little ones falling in. Proximity to the beach was another strong point. A short 5-minute walk through a quiet neighborhood had us on the sand, which allowed for spontaneous beach trips without much planning. The house was well equipped with a beach cart, boogie boards, and beach chairs. We also appreciated the home’s location in Wild Duck Dunes, offering us a quiet retreat that was still within easy driving distance to the center of Duck for morning donuts or a walk on the boardwalk. Overall, Chateau Relaxo provided the amenities and location that made for a memorable family vacation. Our kids and their cousins are already asking when we can go back.

Great fit for our family trip

We enjoyed our visit to Chateau Relaxo. The location was great, easy access to everything Duck had to offer but we could easily head up to Corolla. Our kids loved the pool during the day and then taking the short walk to the beach in the evenings. The decks are nice and the hammock for a lot of use. We hope to return to Chateau Relaxo for future I'm the future.

Ducky Week

This was our first time back to OBX in 10 years. We always stayed in Duck. It’s our favorite place. Although the island itself seems to have become much busier. This home, the neighborhood, and the beach was calm, quiet, peaceful, and not crowded. The beach is beautiful since the dune reconstruction. However, since then there are no steps down to the beach which makes it difficult for some on their way back up. I assume stairs will be added back, in the years to come. The house was perfect for our family. The pool was exactly what we wanted for the little ones to swim in at any time of the day when not on the beach. The kitchen is well-equipped. An added handheld mixer, kitchen towels, and much larger garbage and recycling cans would be a great addition to the kitchen. HOOKS!! We stay in different rentals each summer and our biggest complaint is no hooks. This house has done it right. Hooks are everywhere!! Great additions. I am a firm believer that you can never have too many hooks in a rental! Beautiful home inside and out in a very lovely neighborhood. We enjoyed the short bike ride or walk down to the beach and beautiful sunsets on the private dock on the sound. Perfect for our family of 5 and the grandparents. We hope to visit again.

Wonderful Experience with this Property!

Could not be happier with a place to stay. Home was beautiful and very tastefully decorated. Had my wife, youngest daughter and her hubby plus her 4 daughters. Oldest daughter joined us on Thursday after finishing her school work (she is a HS principal). We were very pleased with the home and pool and close access to the beach. It was tough having to pack up and come home this morning! Many thanks to the owners and managers for q wonderful experience for our family!

Wonderful and as described!!!

Perfect location! Not too far from the center of Duck and Sweet T's. An easy walk to the beach for surfing or relaxing. Out of control of property owner, the town/government was doing a big beach re-nourishment project that shut down the beach on a few days we were there. Hopefully it is done soon for future visitors.
