Check in time on our reservation was 3 pm check. We arrived around 4 pm and were told that Housekeeping was running behind and no room was available for us. When we cinally checked in at 5:28, there was no manager present and we were offered no compensation was offered for out inconvenience.
We were told at check in that breakfast was no longer free, but $17.98 per person When I showed them our Expedia reservation showing full breakfast, they gave us tickets for free breakfast. The breakfast was a buffet and was fair, but no better than the free breakfast at other motel chains. I would never pay $17.98 for that breakfast.
The ice machine in our part of the building wasn't working, so we had to go to the bar which was staffed only for breakfast and after 5 pm. As to the room, there was peeling wallpaper in the bathroom and stained grout beneath it. The TVchanger was like nothing I've ever seen before and there were no instructions. It took us hours to figure out how to use it. We asked to speak to a manager about the problems that we had, but were told that he was on break off the premises. We paid almost $400 per night and were not offered any compensation for the inconvenience of having to sit in the lobby from 4 to 5:28 pm when our room was finally available.
I have contacted Best Western customere service and told them basically the same.
I really feel that Best Western should compensate us for the unavailable room.
We will not use that Best Western again.
