Step back into 1898 with all the comforts of modern day conveniences. 2 bedroom, one bath, with 1200 square feet of wood deck and flagstone patio overlooking the center of the Town of Jerome and the entire Verde Valley. Easy (vertical) walking distance to the center of town shops, wineries, restaurants. Great year round weather and peaceful mountain air evenings. Stay in a 127 years old house which was buried in mud and abandoned for 60 years.

The John Riordan House is the highest rentable space available in Jerome. It is located directly above the center of town with fantastic views of the town and valley below.
This property has received the MOST TOTAL and MOST VRBO 5 STAR REVIEWS than any other rental in Jerome. This house is listed as the one of the top 12 VRBO's in Arizona. https://www.territorysupply.com/vrbo-arizona

A full two page story of the 81 and 86 year old Riordan brothers returning to their childhood home after it was buried for over 60 years was featured in the November's 2014 issue of Arizona Highways magazine.

Because of the steep terrain and gravel roads, we do not allow motorcycles at the property. This is for safety of both our guests and our direct neighbors.

Awesome place! Location was great - beautiful walk down to the main streets. The house was a very cool experience with so much of it true to its history. The drive up to the house was intimidating the first time but we got the hang of it!

Spectacular view

We enjoyed our one night stay here. Great view of Jerome and surrounding landscape, all amenities were as advertised except for ā€œgymā€ā€¦. There is definitely no gym.

A step back in time...Just like you would want coming out west.We absolutely loved the patios & firepit was nice at night when it got cool. Beds and sheets were very nice and snug.Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful home.

This home was absolutely beautiful. There were cute notebooks that were left for people to write about their stay and some of them even brought tears to our eyes. You can just tell how much time and energy the owner put into this. All of the information around the house had enough for us to read for hours. We loved reading about the history of the house and everything. I would leave 10 stars if I could. If youā€™re going to Jerome, stay here! The view is amazing just sitting on the porch. The drive up is a bit scary, but my goodness is it worth it. Will definitely be staying here again for our next trip to Jerome.

Trip Back in Time

Itā€™s amazing to stay in a historical home and have the opportunity to enjoy the homeā€™s very well documented timeline. This home exceeded our expectations and brought up memories for my aunts of their own childhoods. The five of us ranged in age from 51 to 86. The house had modern amenities and comforts disguised as period pieces. Evenings on the patio and porch are amazing! We were entertained by bats flying about. The property is extremely clean, well supplied, and has a beautiful view. The only downside is the second switchback onto Magnolia during the drive up. In a car you will scrape bottom, in a large SUV the 3 point turn can be tricky. This is absolutely no fault to the homeowner, and once parked the walk to town is super easy.

Very Cool Historic Vibe

We loved our stay...as did our friends. We weren't sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised at the quaint-ness of the Riordan House. Loved reading the story of the place and you really feel like you were living "back then". The view was amazing and we enjoyed just sitting out on the deck taking it all in. Glenn provided perfect instructions for finding and accessing the house. We would most definitely stay here again.

My mom was visiting from Ohio. She loves history and I knew from the pictures this home would Wow her. She loved it, read all the reading material and shared it with us during our stay. The views were amazing and everything was exactly as described.

AMAZING!

We have stayed at this property a couple other times and it's always awesome. This week my mom and uncle came to visit from Georgia for my son's graduation so wanted to take them on an overnight trip, decided on Jerome, and they LOVED it! They love history and read every book and picture in the house. It was a visit that we'll forever have as a favorite family trip memory. Thank you!

Very cool property in great location!

This property was perfect for a hiking trip I went on with friends. The layout with the main house, casita, deck, porch and covered outdoor spaces is really cool and perfect for relaxing. Location is great, close to everything in West Sedona and near lots of hiking trails.

The house and its history was worth it. I loved staying there. Spent most of my time on the patios and swings, just enjoying the view. There was a bit of a mix up at check-in but Glenn was a good host and made fair accommodations given the situation. Will definitely stay again if I have the chance.

Historic Gem

We came for a one night stay to celebrate our daughterā€™s 14th birthday and to go ghost hunting. This house was absolutely magical and felt like a step into history. The kids enjoyed the whimsical swings and us adults enjoyed the fire pit. The location was absolutely perfect and a short walk into town. The host was easy to reach and responsive. AZ History Tour

What an exceptional property! Well done and well appointed complete refurbishment / restoration of this amazing historical home. Million dollar views. The raised fire pit patio area was a relaxing addition. We warmed by the fire as the city lights twinkled below. There are all modern conveniences (minus a TV - which we found refreshing), a beautiful shower, and extremely comfortable beds and linens. I highly recommend this place and plan to return. The history is incredible and we enjoyed the provided historical literature about Jerome, mining, and the history of the Riordan family. What a special delight!

Amazing place to stay

This house is gorgeous. The story of the restoration is amazing as is the work. The house feels like it must have felt when the Riordans lived there but with the addition of every possible comfort and modern convenience. The views are stunning. The outside space is lovely and useful. We enjoyed every minute of our stay!

Amazing ā€œOldā€ House, Perched in the Sky!

The Riordan House, designed and renovated in the style of the 1890ā€™s (except the bathroom!), is an amazing property: Beautiful, with a great story. Much of that story is documented in photos of the renovation and antiques all over the house. It was clearly a labor of love, and the result is beautiful and fascinating.But I have one major grievance: The owner should alert potential renters that getting to the house is a challenge, on challenging roads.There are two extreme switchbacks, one requiring several moves to achieve the turn, and the quality of the roads is abysmal.We were so upset upon first arriving, we considered spending the rest of the week in town, but, on reflection, we decided if others could do it, and they do!, we could too. We stayed, and got more used to the approach to the house, tho it was never comfortable.Iā€™m glad we stayed: the house is amazing. But the owner should let potential renters know the difficulties in approaching the house. I believe itā€™s worth the effort, but people should know ahead of time!
