"I’m giving this place 5 stars mainly for the beautiful location and calm atmosphere. The room I got was a bit older and could use a few updates, but everything felt generally clean, no unpleasant smells, just a little dust here and there. What really makes Sands on Golden Lake special is the view, absolutely magnificent in the early morning, and at night the sky is filled with stars and even a glimpse of the Milky Way since it’s tucked away in the quiet countryside. "Our 2 bedroom lodge was a great size for our family of 5. Everything was very clean and kirchen is modern & well equiped. Rooms are spacious and neat. Would definitely recommend and return. Max on front desk very helpful . The games room upstairs in main area is great, lots of books, games, dvds to borrow and pool table/ air hockey. Tennis court looked in great condition too. "

"Pool, hot tub and steam room very clean and well kept. Rooms clean, spacious and convenient. Staff very helpful. The restaurant was in the process of changing providers so day one was so-so, day 2 was better. I am very health focused and realize not everyone is - so I would have more fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, less sweetened things (eg. yogurt, muesli) but I realize this is not to everyone’s taste. "
