Marketing for this property flat out lied and intentionally omitted other details
The one positive thing I can say about this property is that it is clean and newly updated. First, this house is right next to highway 1, literally, the windows of two of the three bedrooms are 20 ft from highway 1 so you will not be sleeping from all the traffic coming all night. This is conveniently not mentioned in the marketing. Second, it is not walking distance to the beach like marketing says. First you have to cross the main highway. Second you have to walk approximately a mile down a road which does not have sidewalks for most of the way to get to the beach. If you are elderly like my parents are, or have young children, which we have two of, good luck getting down the wooden stairs that lead to the closest beach once you've walked that mile to get there. Third, the marketing claims that it is a family-friendly place however it is on the second story and the stairs to get there are a single flight going straight up very steep. There is no way to block these off so that you're one year old doesn't fall down them, which means while you are in the house you have to be on constant guard. Fourth, even though it looks newly renovated everything is falling apart. The door handle for the master bathroom and one of the other bedrooms completely fell off when turning the handle. The spigot of the master bathtub shot off and hit my mother while she was trying to take a shower. Neither of the jet tubs work because the drain plugs do not close all the way to hold water. Finally, I reached out to inform the management company "The Wave Houses | Arete Property Management, LLC" of the misleading marketing and how the place is not anything close to what was advertised. Their customer service is horrible. They literally tried to tell me that I should have done more research after they shared the exact address once I booked through VRBO and I could have canceled at that point. So, to repeat, their form of customer service is to tell me I should have worked harder to uncover their lies and misleading marketing. If you would like to sleep during your vacation, or if you have elderly parents, or if you have young children, or if you're actually looking for something that is walking distance to the beach, do not stay in this location.

Beautiful property in lousy location
This is probably one of the most beautiful, well appointed, comfortable properties I have stayed in. A lot of time went into the attention to detail and it showed and was much appreciated. However, this was not enough to outweigh the problem of the location. It was not possible to tell from the write up on VRBO that this is right on the corner of Hwy 1 and Poplar. Literally about 10 yards to the pavement.. Consequently it was very noisy all night long. The balcony looks out at the traffic light and it was impossible to go out to look for the sunset without being overwhelmed by trucks, cars, motorcycles. The curtains do not fully cover the windows so it was light in the bedroom due to the streetlights and traffic lights. While technically this property is walking distance to the beach, it is over half a mile each way. If I had children or people who can't walk far it would have to have been a drive. It is not just down the street from the beach. The property manager could have been more available. I had a family emergency and reached out prior to arrival and never heard back. Whether or not they could have done anything to help out was less disappointing than the fact that I was ignored.
