Perfect Retreat
We cannot overstate how perfect this cottage was for us to have a quiet retreat. The place has all you need to unwind and drink in the view. The owners went above and beyond (we stayed 2 full months!). Everything was lovely, thanks Julia :)

Peaceful Retreat
We were fortunate enough to spend a month at this lovely cottage- and it did not disappoint! The cottage retreat is even better than the pics- clean, well stocked- gorgeous lake view and super helpful owner (thanks Julia)! We loved it so much we are booking another month! We give the place a 10/10!

Perfect weekend getaway
Had a great time at the little house. House was clean and location was beautiful with views of the lake right off the deck. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a getaway on the lake.

Disappointed Not as Pictured
Cottage is in a nice place, but there was not one comfortable place to sit ! Furniture,falling apart wicker,cushions torn, filling falling out. We fixed the WIFI ( were told to call the tech guy ourselves)broken TV. Broken patio umbrella.Filthy, sticky bathroom floor. Mat in tub full of fungus.Rickety ,dirty night stands. Metal sitting set in front, rusty, falling apart. Total trash. Too bad the owner didn't care . Could have been great. Save your money, don't wish this experience on anyone. UGH!!

Summertime in the little house.
Enjoyable stay in the cottage with nice lake view and friendly neighbours. Julia was always easy to reach and communicate with. Everything we needed was either available upon arrival or provided in timely manner upon request. We would love to return to the little house in the future.

Great Anniversary Getaway
My husband and I stayed at The Little House for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We really enjoyed our stay. The house is very basic but had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck. Julia was very quick to respond to messages. Overall we had a very nice time!

Wonderful little getaway
The Little House was just what we needed to get out of the city and celebrate a birthday. While the weather didn't allow for much time outdoors, that was perfectly ok with us. We loved sitting by the fire with the view of the lake and enjoying the peace and quiet. The place was clean and had everything we needed, and Julia was very responsive when we had any questions. And her restaurant recommendations in the yellow book were great. We hope to be back in the summer.

Fantastic small house for someone looking for a weekend get away from the city. Great views, a great porch and modern kitchen. Close to little downtown to eat and drink. We stayed in the winter months and got snow which was very pretty and cozy

Weekend getaway
Celebrating birthday for my girlfriend! Excellent kitchen accommodations! Panoramic view of lake which provided beautiful sunrise & sunset views! Quaint location for relaxation and rejuvenation. Enjoyed farmers' markets for holiday gifts. The host made it feel like a bed & breakfast. Thank you!

Perfect little getaway
Just an adorable little property that was everything I needed it to be for a short break from work. Bonus, the puppy loved it too! The view is beautiful, the neighborhood quiet, and there is a wonderful sense of calm and comfort about it.

The little house was lovely. I took my boyfriend and our dog to spend the weekend there. Everything was perfect. House is clean and cozy. The view was just… beautiful! We will definitely come back ❤️

Sweet spot
In the area for a family reunion and with our dog, the little house was a lovely retreat to come back to after long days. The views are gorgeous, the yard lovely, the appointments were all warm and welcoming :).

Quaint, quiet, clean, and perfect. Beautiful view. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay for our anniversary get-away with a trip to the winery, creamery, and out to the Ren Faire in Tuxedo too. Perfect location for everything.

Julia is a lovely host!
We needed a place to stay for a month this summer. Having resided in the area for many years, we were familiar with Greenwood Lake but had never visited this community. It is not conveniently located, being nearly at the top of mountainous, single lane twisty road that was not in good shape. We made Julia aware that the property needs TLC and she was very responsive, including agreeing to refund a good portion of our rental amount due to these issues: holes in the screens/doorframes invited many ants; significant dampness (we bought and used dehumidifying products throughout the home); furniture was not comfortable to us and the dining table was actually a very used metal folding table; cushions for the deck chairs were holey, stained, in need of replacement; overgrown foliage blocked views and invited many bugs on the deck. The listing includes a dishwasher but turns out it was unusable which host knew but didn't disclose in advance so although we planned to cook home often from this mountaintop home, this created a chore we did not want on vacation. There were no window coverings in the living area which made for nice views BUT the sunshine made it impossible to enjoy and the a/c just was not sufficient to counter this during the day. We would recommend this property for short term stays only.

Very Nice Host/You Get What You Pay For I Guess
Julia is a very nice host, very communicative and caring. I have stayed in many vrbo's so I want to be honest in my review as I'm a person who always reads them before making a decision. I feel slightly guilty about this but if I had read this review while searching I would have been grateful and it would have saved me time and peace of mind, so ... I chose this place over one I had stayed in prior because it was cheaper and I wanted to save $. Since I wound up leaving a night early (not requesting a refund) I realized I could and should have just paid the extra $50 a night for a finely appointed, luxury cabin. It would have been worth it. Lesson learned. Again, Julia is very sweet, and I'm being honest but also slightly picky for those who care about this type of stuff. The little house is fine - very very basic. I was asked to arrive an hour later due to a guest leaving late and the cleaning that needed to be done. No problem. When I arrived though 15 mins later than requested, I still had to wait another 15 mins before I could get in and then the place was so filled with fumes, I had to open all the windows and wait outside for another hour before I could feel comfortable inhabiting. The fireplace didn't work, the dishwasher didn't work, there were various ants and other bugs, a wasp nest in the eaves on the deck was problematic, (but the time on the deck when not pestered by wasps was very nice) the mattress and couch were supremely uncomfortable and the first night there was a squirrel scratching inside the wall of the bedroom. Not the best environment for sleeping. So if you find none of that bothersome and you think I'm being too picky or overreacting, by all means book the place and enjoy!

I think the title sums it up. The house is inviting and comfortable, and the view is spectacular. I only wish the fireplace would have turned on a little more easily. Maybe a note with instructions left for the guests would be a nice touch. But regardless, it's certainly a worthwhile getaway if you're looking for relaxation! Would recommend.

Quiet Cottage with a Stunning View
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage! The view from the back porch is stunning in all weather. We found the kitchen pretty well equipped for everyday cooking and the cottage overall to be comfortable. Overall, I definitely think we got what we were promised and what we expected - a cozy, no-fuss stay somewhere with easy access to lots of parks (Sterling Forest and Ringwood State Parks were our favorite) and trails (right at the top of the neighborhood!). The cottage is homey, not fancy, and that was what we needed for a month. It was really nice to have the laundry in unit, but I would note the dishwasher was broken (not a problem for us and we were warned beforehand, just noting that because it is different than the listing and seems from reviews like it may have been broken for a while). It's a nice, low-key little spot for a cozy getaway for two. We really enjoyed reading by the fire and taking in the lake. I can only imagine the location is even more excellent in the summer. My only real negative (and it's not much) is that there are small changes the owners could make to make the place more functional for guests - blackout curtains on the bedroom windows, for example, would go a long way, as would having some basic cleaning supplies (i.e. windex and dishsoap) on hand, especially given the broken dishwasher. But these were all minor! We would stay again in the warm weather! Thanks to the owners for welcoming us.

Sept 2020 Stay in Greenwood Lake
We were very excited to stay at the Little House for the month of Sept 2020. The house is located in a lake community and has beautiful views of Greenwood Lake. The deck and Adirondack chairs were freshly painted. The house itself has all of the things required for a comfortable stay but, unfortunately, the owner could do more to provide a rental with functionality and cleanliness.

Nice getaway

The house sits in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. The location is really nice, we enjoyed the Appalachian trial and Warwick town. Would recommend for two people. Couch not very comfortable for the third person.

It was the perfect getaway and not a long ride from home and Julia has a lot of very good books to choose from to read which me and my husband enjoyed and friendly neighbors . We went into the town of Greenwood and Warwick enjoyed walking around . We plan on going back :)

Little House Love
Full size kitchen made cooking easy. Lovely grounds and comfortable furnishings. Cozy bed with country sounds of crickets and birds. Gorgeous views of the lake mountains and sky from the deck.

Cozy cabin with an excellent view
The house was small but spacious and with a washer/dryer and such the perfect view of the lake, was exactly what we were looking for. It had a great breeze that quickly cooled down the house and we were able to leave the window AC unit off most of the time.

This house is one of the best little house I ever have been,it is a very clean cozy,warm,peaceful,I felt so happy in this place and the nature view was so relaxing,I highly recommend this beautiful little house for a couple getaway
