Sunset from Grand Isle State Park, near the southern tip of Louisiana. We didn't know you could drive 1.5 hours south of New Orleans, but you can to reach this beautiful state park. Grand Isle is mostly a summer community but it was sunny and warm and nearly empty for us in early March. The RV park was a great place to stay -- one of our favorites, right next to the beach and with nature paths nearby. We walked on the beach by day, and grilled burgers and sat by the campfire at night. The camp is very nice, we had a small issue upon arrival with one of the locks, the host was quick to send someone out to fix the problem. The camp was clean and the kitchen has what you need to cook and bake. The 2nd level was great for boiling and grilling. Space was good too.

The house was great. The space under the house was dusty and needed to the cleaned. The property manager was super responsive when we recognized we didn’t have running water.
