When we arrived, we noticed a for sale signed in the front yard. The property is roomy for 2–3 small families, and there’s plenty of beds for large groups. However, having only three bathrooms is a drawback for this size of home. Since the house is more than 16-yrs old, it clearly shows wear and tear from use: damaged/broken window blinds, knicks and dings on cabinets and upholstery, etc. We had problems with spiders and insects, especially in the basement, all three nights of our stay. Because of a heavy rain storm, water leaked in the basement along one wall, and prevented family members from using the arcade games plugged in by the windows; It’s clear water leaking in the basement has been a problem evident from the stains and warped moulding downstairs. We were also surprised to find a dead frog dried up and mushed into the carpet. The kitchen is stocked well and there’s plenty of paper products in the home. However, there’s only one small Rubbermaid trashcan in the garage, and for a neighborhood this size you would expect residents to maintain larger neighborhood lid-type dumpstes for garbage containers. It would be nice to have some kind of binder/ information in the home with local restaurants, retail, lake rentals/features, and information about check-out procedures, etc. Also, because there’s no parking on the street, it was nice to be able to park two vehicles in the garage and two in the driveway. The outdoor pool and hot tub are within walking distance.
