Welcome to Seaside Escape - Escape to the Seawall at this great 1st floor, 1 bedroom condo at the Dawn condominium complex welcoming up to 5 guests with a king bed in the bedroom (which also has a walk in closet and access to the restroom), a queen sleeper sofa in the living room, & a twin rollaway bed housed in the walk in closet which can be used anywhere in the condo! We are excited to be your hosts for your Galveston Getaway! Fully equipped kitchen will all full-sized appliances including
En suite Washer & Dryer so pack light - or take everything home clean so you don't have to worry about doing laundry when you get home. The Dawn has 2 pools, 2 hot tubs and is literally across Seawall Boulevard from Galveston's "Babe's Beach". The patio is pretty much your private oasis - with a gate that lets you out to green space to let the little ones run, throw the frisbee or the football - expend that energy before bedtime. Sip your morning coffee or an evening cocktail after they've gone to bed --- your own little oasis! There is not a gulf view from this condo - but you're right across from the beach - so you'll have views for miles! The complex also has a fitness room should you need to burn those vacation calories.
Visiting Galveston for one of the many competitive events hosted here? Cheer, dance, sports tournaments or conferences? Weddings, family reunions, class reunions, festivals, homes tours, or any other groups? Why squeeze into a tiny hotel room when your entire group could stay in their own condos and enjoy "together time" at the pools, hot tubs, etc. instead!
Being in walking distance to a big box store makes shopping a breeze whether for food and beverage selections, beach necessities you may have forgotten, or souvenirs to remind you of your trip to the Texas gulf coast.
The Dawn complex is located across from Babe’s Beach on Galveston’s Seawall – protected by traffic signals at both corners so you can safely walk across to the beach. There’s a huge big box store that starts with a W next door for all your shopping needs, and eateries in walking distance for sandwiches and BBQ.
You will have exclusive use of the entire condo - and share the pools, hot tubs, fitness center, tennis court and grounds including BBQ pergolas, and all of the other outdoor spaces with other guests and residents of the Dawn condominium complex. The complex has 2 pools – at least one of which is heated in the seasons when God does not do this for us. There is a hot tub, a fitness center and picnic/BBQ areas.
What's included: While we provide our guests with self check-in information and instructions, you can call us with any questions you may have at any time.
You certainly COULD stay here without a car - you can walk to shopping, eateries and the beach, there is public transportation nearby, and there are several local and nationally "branded" taxi services as well as ride share (Uber, Lyft) programs in place as well as meal deliveries (UberEats, ASAP (formerly WAITR) and DoorDash available as well. We provide self check in instructions 24-72 hours prior to arrival - and when you are on vacation - YOU ARE ON VACATION. Should you need to reach us, however, we are but a phone call or email away and ready to assist you. We are happy to answer any questions at any time, but to ensure we give you the correct code we cannot provide access instructions earlier than this.
Bed linens for all beds, one bath, hand and wash cloth for each guest that the unit welcomes. We do not provide beach/pool towels as when we did – they continuously went home with our guests. If you wish to “rent” beach towels from us – it is $25 for condos that accommodate up to 6 guests and $35 for condos that accommodate up to 8 guests. Which is only the additional cost of the laundering of them – labor time, laundry products, etc. We will need to have a credit card on file for this as if there are beach towels missing upon your departure, the charge is $25 per towel. We ask that our bath towels not be removed from the condo and taken to the beach or pool. They can get damaged or lost.
Starter supplies: 2 rolls of 2-ply, quilted toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a dishwasher tablet, small dishwashing liquid, sponge, 2 small soaps, 2 small shampoos, trash bag, and coffee including sweeteners, stir sticks, powdered creamer to make that first pot. These are intended to get you started while you make your list and decide where to shop (there is a WalMart, Kroger, Randall's, Arlan's and Target on the island, as well as many mom & pop grocery stores.
The Dawn condominium complex is located on Seawall Boulevard with protected (traffic signal) crossing at the corner for ease of getting to the beach. You will be close to shopping and eateries - so whether you plan to experience Galveston's culinary adventures or save money by cooking in (some or all of your meals) it's convenient from this central Seawall Boulevard Location.
The Dawn condominium complex – like almost every condominium complex and hotel in Galveston, charges a parking/resort/amenity fees. This is not a charge from My Galveston Getaway and is paid directly to the complex upon your arrival. And we are unable to pre-pay this fee on your behalf. They will issue a parking permit and may issue wristbands that identify guests who are authorized at the complex. They will also provide guests with the codes for the gates to enter the property - both drive-through and walk through, pools, and fitness center The charge is $40 per vehicle for stays of 1-3 nights, $50 per vehicle for stays of 4-29 nights, and $100 per vehicle for stays of 30 nights and longer. We are unable to collect this in advance and pay it to the Dawn on your behalf. We don’t get to make the rules, we just play by them!
Many of our owners have switched out to “Smart” TV’s – so bring your login information with you to sign in to your own subscription services, and don’t forget to log-out before leaving.
The Dawn complex does not allow renters to have a pet – so if you travel with Fido or Fifi – please check out the other My Galveston Getaway managed properties that ARE dog friendly. While true service animals are an exception – you very well may be asked by the complex to provide the verification. For short term rental/vacation purposes – emotional support animals are not considered true support animals and we are unable to make exceptions to a rule that is in place and enforced by a complex in which we manage condos. Kindly be respectful.
We strive for 5 star reviews at all times - and the first part of that is notifying everyone of every cost they may incur so that there are no surprises. If during your stay with us you find any reason that you are not able to rate our service and the property a 5 star review based upon the description of the property, that the pictures accurately depict the property, or our courteous service - please let us know and give us the opportunity to turn that frown upside down and EARN your 5 star review.
All properties managed by My Galveston Getaway are 100% non-smoking/non-vaping properties.
After making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.
Galveston is a barrier island located in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is susceptible to rainstorms, thunderstorms and even a hurricane now and then. Sometimes these result in temporary power and WiFi outages. We strongly encourage our renters to consider purchasing trip interruption/cancellation protection either through the platform that you book through or some other source. My Galveston Getaway issues refunds if a governmental official issues a mandatory evacuation of the island. Unfortunately we are unable to control sunshine, temperatures and mosquitos and do not refund other than pursuant to our policy based on evacuation orders. Thank you for understanding.
Again – the parking/resort/amenities/facilities fee is one charged by the condominium complex, not by the owner of the condo or My Galveston Getaway and we appreciate your understanding.

Location and staff are amazing, but the rental had some damage when we got there. Also, the bedroom windows faced the Walmart parking lot and it was bright as day in there all night.

Nice complex
The communication from My Galveston Getaway was like I’ve never experienced before. Not only did we get a descriptive email but they called to make sure the info was received and accurate. This condo worked well for my family of 4. We utilized the sofa bed and roll away bed and my kids were perfectly comfortable on both.

Very beautiful residence, awesome location
We enjoyed each single day in the condo. It was well equipped, very clean and cosy. I especially loved the mini-oven in the kitchen.
Unfortunately the ice-maker in the freezer didn‘t work but we found another solution.
Overall we would like to come back.

The condo was very clean. Comfortable bed. The only negative was the bright lights coming through the master bedroom window at night and the shower water pressure was very low. Otherwise a nice condo.

I was really disappointed, considering that this unit had five stars. The air conditioning never kicked in. I set the air to 70 and the whole unit stayed 75 all night long. The sofa bed was horrible, not to mention the sheets that we used had a horrible odor. There was no other mirror but the one in the restroom, which made it very inconvenient if you are not staying alone. Very poor water pressure from the shower head. Living room TV did not work. After all the fees INCLUDING a parking fee. i totally overpaid for my stay at this place. I should have just stayed at a hotel where at least I could call front desk and get help with any issues that I had.
